    I love Alice Cooper, he has a lot of great song’s and this is one of them.

    Joe Satriani was the guitar teacher of not only Steve Vai of Whitesnake & Alcatrazz, but also Kirk Hammett of Metallica, Alex Skolnick of Testament & Savatage, Rick Hunolt of Exodus, David Bryson of Counting Crows.

    OMG, Ryan - my stomach hurts from laughing. Happy Birthday to a fellow Scorpio!
    Alice lives about 20 miles from me. I see him at Coyotes games from time to time. He likes to give mini concerts during the game every now and then. He sets up a little band behind the net in the upper level and does 5 or 6 songs during the intermissions. It’s a fun little surprise. A lot more entertaining than watching a Zamboni clear the ice. He seems to be a very cool and nice guy.

    OH RYAN! You killed me with The Bride! Best review of Ryan to date!!! And…understood what he meant the entire time! He’s saying she could be the dr or the monster…RYANS ALL ABOUT IT!!Ryan Scorpios rock man! 11/11 here. I love Alice Cooper. Welcome to my nightmare is my favorite album but whatever he does is always good really. Yeah and they always say Frankenstein in reference to him. Even dolls have the monster with his name on it. So stupid, but I guess they could only originate that monster with his creator, but he is not Frankenstein. Bride of Frankenstein don’t get me going. Good review guys.
    Joe Satriani and Steve Vai are fantastic!

    Alice can be super dark with his lyrics, but he can also be hilarious (like this song). "Roses on Red Lace" is an awesome song from this era with scary dark lyrics and perfect for Halloween.
    Fun fact: His bass player (Chuck Garric) is in a side band called Beasto Blanco with Alice's daughter (Calico Cooper) and they do a killer cover of this song with a cool video

    This song did nothing for me, however, your unbelievably convoluted discussion of what a "fur tea cup" is and whether Frankenstein's bride could be a doctor, etc., etc.kept me endlessly entertained. I LOVE when Nick finally admits: "I don't even know what this conversation's about!" You guys make me laugh more than most sitcoms. You are all out of your minds, hysterically funny and I LOVE YOU ALL! Keep up the good work!

    I loved your Halloween marathon last year. I did not connect with most this year. I knew this song, only from Wayne's World... Being a Kenoshian it had the best of Chicago and Milwaukee. Alice Cooper in Milwaukee was so funny. I watched the reaction but it got a boderline "Views after Dark". But i know you all love the 🎃 marathon! Hope Ryan had a great birthday! Looking yorward to seeing what is ahead. Read up on Alice Cooper "behind the scenes" - he is a stand-up guy, and very charitable and full of faith!

  • @alchemy-oi8xf
    @alchemy-oi8xf Год назад +7

    Loved the song and the crazy banter; terrific way to end the marathon. As I send along birthday wishes to Ryan, perhaps a nice gift for the fellow-Boz Scaggs lover would be reacting to "Miss Sun". There's a great live version done by Boz under the name of the Dukes of September, kind of a super-group collaberation of Boz, Don Fagen of Steely Dan, and Michael McDonald which toured together a few times in recent years.

    • @teensymom1420

    If the guitar has a lot of wah pedal, it's probably Steve Vai - you guys should definitely check him out. There are some good recommendations in the comments already, but I would add his solo band project just called VAI put out an outstanding album in 1993 called Sex & Religion, featuring the incredible Devin Townsend on vocals. The songs "In My Dreams With You" and "Deep Down Into the Pain" are both standout tracks, but the whole album is stellar.
    These lyrics are a bit cheezy at this point but back then many people were intentionally pushing boundaries lyrically due to the misguided cultural conservatives in Washington DC pressuring the music industry to put those infamous "Parental Warning - explicit lyrics" stickers on everything, which totally backfired because loads of artists started trying to earn that sticker and turned it into a selling point.

    In the guitar trade off Joe is first then Steve. They've got a lot of history together. Steve's solo album Passion and Warfare is widely seen as one of the most influential guitar albums ever. He started as a teenager with Frank Zappa, did one underrated album with Alcatraz, joined David Lee Roth for his 1st 2 solo albums, then did one album with Whitesnake. I love all of it but for an introduction I'd reccomend Roth's "Ladies' Night In Buffalo", Whitesnake's '"Judgement Day", or "Blue Powder" and "The Animal" from Passion and Warfare. Plus I'd HIGHLY recommend the mind-blowing video for "Teeth of the Hydra" from his latest solo album. Joe has been almost exclusively a solo artist. His breakthrough album is Surfing With the Alien. He is easily one the most respected rock guitarists alive.

    • @Timmayytoo
      @Timmayytoo Год назад +3

      Nice summary but you missed the most important detail... Joe was one of Steve's first guitar teachers

    • @Another_Broke_Musician
      @Another_Broke_Musician Год назад +2

      @@Timmayytoo Yeah, but that was purposeful, although I did say they have a lot of history. To me it's like giving props to Einstein's college professor. Joe is a master, but imo Steve is more of an innovator and a better composer.

    If you wanted to review 80's metal there are a hundred generic bands you could have chosen that sound exactly like this. This sounds like RATT. Alice has so many hit songs you could have selected that were actual tunes with a melody but ever since the punk era he tended to fashion his musical style on the current fad.

    Billion Dollar Babies ( 73)
    With Donavan on backing vocals !
    While I appreciate the Waynes World humor, Alice was in the movie because Mike Myers was a huge fan of his 70's material
    It's great for 80's Alice it's just not representive of the brilliant classics
