Ryan, please do yourself a favor: stop posting your videos with scandalous and fakes headlines like “STOP DO NOT BUY THIS TESLA. You don’t need that to attract viewers.
It is hella misleading and annoying asf
I agree. About to stop watching lol
I’m only one unsub. Plenty other content out there
Agreed, unnecessary and frankly annoying.
Agree! I’m unsubscribing if this continues
As a Model 3 owner with no home charging in my apartment complex, the Superchargers have been why I went with Tesla comfortably. I’m lucky to have 2 about 2-5 minutes from my home, and 5 along my work route. I also have some free ChargePoint chargers near my work place that I sometimes use to not always supercharge. It’s been great, and I love my Tesla!
Gay
@redg2197 get Tesla insurance. I pay 128
@redg2197I’m paying $68 a month. But I have a great driving history.
The supercharger is going to degrade your battery fast
The price seems high for Superchargers in San Diego. 37 cents per Kilowatt Hour is the cheapest that I have found. The others I have seen are in the 50cents range.
Bro lmao. Your videos contradict each other. “BUY NOW!!!” “WAIT! You don’t want to miss this!!”
“Quick hurry!! BUY NOW!”
Because Tesla changes things so quickly🙄
I'll wait for Elon to make so much money then decides to sell his Tesla 80% cheaper
Its called the "Tesla Tango". You need to learn the dance!.😁😁
Making Y more attractive against 3 makes sense. But this could mean future regret for Model 3 buyers when the price drops to make it less expensive than the new Y.
a very hard and ugly truth
Well the question is… are you hungry now or can you wait til dinner? For me I’m waiting til the Juniper refresh is on the menu. Although the 3 is tempting
We have 4 Kia dealers within 40 miles of us, 2 of them are marking the EV9 up, while the other 2 aren't. One of the dealers who isn't adding markup to the EV9 is touting that they're selling at MSRP, but have added 3 to 5 thousand dollars to their EV6 and Niro EV prices.
Thank you for sharing this important information
Kia dealers in Okla are discounting EV9's by $8K, they're sitting on lots unsold. Gas here under $3 gal, no big push to buy EV's.
A new, high in demand, redesigned, model from other manufacturers always comes with dealers asking for a 2k-5k dealer markup and being unwilling to negotiate if enough ppl are buying like they always do here in LA so Tesla raising prices $250 here $450 there is still better than traditional practices
It is not a new redesigned model3. It is an improvement to bring the car to what it should had being from the beginning for the premium price. Adequate Insulation, ok sound and a ambient led strip ,etc. is not a redesign. The omission of the physical shifter for a software based one is actually a big reduction of hardware expense.
Canadian prices are identical for the Y and the new 3 (tough choices) as of today. March 7, 2024
Traditional car dealerships are the worst
Traditional dealerships offer faster and better service, vs Tesla.
Never wait! Live the moment!
wait and see is how i avoided 07-08 RE crash, and bought my first home in 2010. paid in full already
Gay
Putting the R2 charging port on the front right will be great for when it's using a Supercharger as it won't need to borrow a neighboring stall's connector to charge, and therefore block 2 spots.
Hopefully new supercharging station has a diner built onsite, that would be a nice addition in the middle of trips to take a break.
Tesla is a master of demand, that’s what’s happening with M3. High demand gives them room to raise the price. When the refresh Y comes out I fully expect them to release it many thousands more than the outgoing model. Early adopters will gladly pay the premium , just like people paid $60-70k for a Y back in 2022.
I dont think they will be able to increase the cost that much. The refresh is desirable but not for more than $1k increase.
I agree to a point. Recall that 2022 was an outlier due to supply chain issues and Covid. Going forward, Tesla will need to compete with more OEMs so the days of a 60k Model Y are over.
Neighbor bought his M3 $46k, ... just over a year later i'm looking at the same M3 at Hertz for $20k
I rented a 3, reconsider buying a rented vehicle it was poorly maintained. I drove it like I stole it and it was charged to 100% every single charge.
@@badhombre4184 Not really the same M3. Your neighbor bought it new and likely didn't consistently charge to 100% or beat the crap out of it like many renters might have. Still, that's a huge drop in value.
Have been loving my powerwall 3 for the last 2 months! Was lucky in getting the 20th one installed in our market and it has already backed us up for a couple of outages seamlessly!
Tires, tires, tires. I've seen a fool put summer tires on a Jeep CJ and then in Winter get stuck in a foot of snow on a level city street. That takes a lot of talent.
Tesla is still the best all around option. The new model 3 looks like a fantastic vehicle. None of them are perfect, and it's only human to want better and better and more and more.
Yeah, not bad for a company that has lost $188billion this year. 😄😄
Hey! I made it into a Ryan Shaw video! @9:55 hahaha was not expecting that :)
Ryan, I hear what your saying, but for some current Tesla owners having the opportunity to transfer free supercharging & FSD it might be worth it to buy the current Model Y, especially with these huge discounts & the 2024;models have HW4 like the new model 3. Tough choice right now 🤔
The new Model 3 is SO COOL looking, inside and out. My wife just got one, drove her to dealer in my My '23 Y with newest suspension. OMG the ride in the M3 is so much smoother and even more comfortable. Its noticeable. Looks like new Model Y isn't coming until next year, I wouldn't wait if a 3 will do ya. The lease gets the $7500 insentive from Tesla. And the new Red is beautiful. Love the new M3!
So I pay $100k for a Cybertruck, sell it for $250k, and Tesla gets $50k... alright, fine me. :)
I recently ordered the Highland rather than a lower priced Model Y. What encouraged me to buy now was the recent incentives to transfer my Life Time Free Supercharging and my FSD to my new car prior to March 31st. Prior to seeing the refresh I wanted to upgrade my current 2018 M3LR to a Model Y. Without the recent incentives I would just wait for the Juniper. However, as a current Tesla owner, I am a happy camper either way.
The Model 3 in France now has a €4k reduction. This means, as the model 3 is made outside of Europe, it doesn't qualify for the €4-7k reduction in France. The base model 3 and Y is now €38,990 to buy in France.
3:54 Just a correction - In New Zealand, the M3 highland was more expensive than the MY for a couple months when it first launched. So not the first time for Tesla to do this
How far away is a Model Y refresh? 3, 6 months, next year? Interested in the Model Y as my next car but don't want to buy if the refresh is coming soon. The Telsa Model 3 refresh was quite major so expect the Model Y to be similar.
Waiting on the refresh Y
I think that I will wait on it too. I want to see what they come up with to make it a little different from the model 3. I'll get another car in the meantime.
Late 2024 or early 2025 juniper Y
I was waiting, too. But I just picked up the Model Y long-range and paid $39k out the door. No regrets.
@@br_ok_in 39K for a new one? how'd you get that price?? where u located?
The best charger station I've seen so far is one shown last week on The Fully Charged Show near Gatwick International Airport in the UK. Tons of chargers and built above them is an upper level of restaurants, a grocery store, and washrooms with free wifi. Having all of that infrastructure above the chargers mean they have a built-in canopy to protect the chargers from the elements. THAT is the future of charging and we need these built all over North America (not just the U.S.) - I would argue Canada needs these more given our winters and HUGE geographical distances between major urban centres.
The MY is too good of a deal to pass up on right now.
I got a brand new one for 35k. Can’t beat that.
I literally sold my 3 year old MY for 32k and went into a brand new one for 3k.
Why would Tesla not just fast track the new Model Y?
Myself, I am waiting for the upgrade to see where I am going. Then the new Lexus GX is around the corner....I know they are vastly different😎
Waiting for full-scale 4680 production at giga Nevada which will happen in the spring/summer.
IMO If I am only using the car for short commutes I would go with the 3 regular battery and if I plan using for longer trips I rather go with the Y long range with less features. The 3’s cabin is too small for the longer rides.
Saw Marques's video on the Kia ev9, even with the interior being mostly plastic I was interested. But then I remembered the the _d_ _e_ _a_ _l_ _e_ _r_ _s_ _h_ _i_ _p_
Picking up my new Model Y LR tomorrow. The pricing and incentives were too good to wait.
Is it a good time to buy a used model 3??
Always a good time to buy a used tessy
Great show!
I am so curious what Tesla is doing with Model Y. I noticed on the mobile web when you go to the configurator it does not offer the opportunity to order a Model Y, it only allows you to "shop available" cars in stock.
Very interesting. Tesla seems to be focused on clearing out remaining Model Ys, I believe the Model Y Juniper refresh is coming faster than Tesla has led on.
What do you think?
I'm running around in a 17 year old perfectly running ICE sports car currently. 6spd MT, RWD. Waiting for and looking forward to the refreshed Model Y Performance coming up next year.
Well that will be a night & day difference
You mean the +700hp Ludicrous Y?
@@larryc1616
I dunno what the HP will be, but the regular ol' performance Y is already hitting 60 faster than my BMW M3 and lots of other cars.
@@yourlogicalnightmare1014one is good for drag racing and is an appliance to get from A to B, the other can take curves too.. yeah.. night and day for sure
@@bencze465
99.9% of driving is done on city streets and highways, not tracks. Tessy dominates street driving 🤯🔫
Tesla has never been consumer friendly when it comes to pricing. It has always raised prices based on demand and lowered them when demand drops. Rather than shoot for a percentage profit, it shoots for the max. Hence it is not consumer friendly.
Thumbs DOWN on your "STOP DO NOT BUY THIS TESLA" banner.
Lately, all of your videos give Tesla a bad name.
Most of the people who see your video banners most likely won't watch them; so you've already done the damage.
You can still customize the model Y in all areas, you just need to click through over "vehicles" hover over the Model Y and click "order." I do think they are trying to sell their inventory.
Hi Ryan, as a fellow drummer, I was hoping you could tell me if the model 3 can fit a 22” bass drum on the rear passenger seat? Thanks!
Need restrooms and some vending machines. Think Japan.
I've yet to hear an explanation as to why the long range Model 3 doesn't qualify for the tax credit. I get that the standard range model doesn't due to its Chinese LFP batteries, but doesn't the long range use Nevada batteries?
The location of the R2 charge port makes sense because it lets you use a Tesla Supercharger stall and not having to back in.
It wouldn’t matter because the front one you can pull into anyways. I don’t think this is an R2. It’s not any smaller either. It looks like a refresh R1.
You failed to mention Rivian is running out of money from their quarterly earnings report.
Tesla has hit 50 new charging stations installed a day. Sadly, they need to push harder in order to get mainstream buyers to trust the idea of owning an EV without charging headaches.
As Ryan noted, charging stations need to be like gas stations, basically everywhere.
Very happy to see Tesla putting solar at charging stations. One possible positive PR would be if their charging locations generated sp much energy it not only revharge vehicles, but cam help balance power grids. The misguided myth that EVa will crash the grid eould go away if many charging locations are self sufficient.
17:00 - no, that is not true at all. The price they list is first of all "with saving" (what a heck is that?!?) and then they also add destinations fee (same there - what is that shit?!).
Not to mention that strange thing that tax is not included in the price in USA...
This was also the case here in Sweden. Taxes was included because this is the law here, but, they added the destination shit and also listed prices with that ridiculous "savings". But authorities was on them and they had to change this because that was also against the law so now the price you see on the homepage is the price you pay.
So in Sweden, Tesla shows the TRUE price (but that was just After the authorities put a thumb in their eye - before they tried the scumbag trick), but in USA they fiddle with the prices to make it appear lower than it actually is (and as said, added to that the strange habit of not showing including tax...).
There is no way the new model Y qualifies for the EV tax credit. It will also increase in price. Juniper WILL follow the same route as the refreshed model 3. GL everyone
Hard to say if the republicans get into the office as he will undoubtedly want to reverse anything the democrats have done. I would think Elon would know this and want to make as many cars between now and the end of the year putting on hold any car(s) that would not already qualify. Because once the rebate is gone sales will dry up.
Not true. Tesla is building full scale 4680 production at giga Nevada instead of catl in China. Will happen in months
Yeah. Time to go with a MUCH BETTER company to buy an electric car, in my opinion. There ARE TONS of other options out there nowadays. Why go with the company that has lost $188 billion in the past 12 months? 😁🤣
Ryan if that truly is the R2, it doesn’t look a bit smaller at all.
Look at the headlights. That is clearly photoshopped.
Thanks Ryan. Re: M3 RWD/LR tax incentives. Heard that CATL may alter ownership structure so these Teslas could qualify for the tax incentive. I've got a M3LR on order, not sure whether to accept it or wait to reorder once tax incentives apply (if they ever do). On one hand I've been waiting months for this car and the price I got is below current cost AND I am transferring my MS free Supercharging to the M3. On the other hand... $7500 discount. Or at least $3750...maybe. I suppose it's possible any incentive may be retroactive to Jan 1. I think IRS did something like that last year. What do you think?
“Automated concessions” is a fancy term for vending machines lol.
You can't stack Powerwall 3s, they are used singly . Evaluate your requirement and check it out research before buying. A Powerwall plus or 2 has other advantages..i.e. you can stack and have more power storage.
everything makes sense in the pricing... except $1500 for white vs black vinyl seats.
2:12) Tesla "planning for something else?" Something REALLY BIG? No. Small actually. I'm only 32cm tall. That NEW, Thrilling, development is for ... FRUNKENSTEIN!!!!!!!!
These misleading headlines that you have been using lately really takes away your credibility, especially with newer viewers.
It looked like the Cybertruck was on dry asphalt? If he would have backed into where the F150 was stuck, then drove out, I would have been impressed.
The current model Y is inferior to the new model 3. I test drove both. 3 is much quieter, drives better, better sound system on LR option. They need to get the tax credit for model 3 ASAP.
Only 3 hours old but no mention of the M3P Plaid that just showed up on X uncamouflaged and out in the open.
Superchargers should all be pull through. Why reinvent the wheel? Especially since different vehicles have charge ports in different places, just like gas tank ports. I wonder if the Cybertruck's stiff body creates a problem keeping tires on the ground?
Good point!
The suspension handles "tires on the ground"
Body stiffness in this case is a huge positive
i strongly considering the "reengineered" model 3. I might just go RWD/standard range instead of the long range. I desperately need a car, it would be my first. I would love peoples' thought on waiting for the model 3 and how long to wait. I do not have a charger at home
Unless you get supercharger miles free, you aren't going to save much on "fuel"
My charge rate at home is 11 cents per kwh. At my local charging stations, it is never less than 30 cents per kwh.
You'll still save in other ways, like ordinary maintenance which is rare on a Tessy. But if you can't charge at home, you're missing out on a nice chunk of savings
Make sure you live in an area with readily available superchargers like Southern California before buying.
@@larryc1616
It's not just the availability of the chargers, it's the fact that using them costs 3x-4x as much as charging at home. Tessys are best for homeowners.
I've used a supercharger 2 or 3 times in the 18 months or so I've owned the Model Y
I put my order for a refreshed M3LR when Tesla announced the choice to have my existing FSD transferred to the new car if it was delivered by 3-31. I have planned to purchase a refreshed at some time - watching for details to move to my liking. The FSD transfer is my sole reason for this early deal.
My order was 2-06 and it seemed I qualified for the transfer. However my expected delivery has now been pushed to 4-3 to 5-8.
I wrote to say basically "No FSD transfer, no sale" Yesterday a yes/no choice to transfer FSD appeared in the new car account and I'm assuming I've been given some room to make the deal.
EV ranges are very flawed from a customer perspective. Charging is cheaper than the pump, but 30-40% lower than claimed should be noted, esp for the highway mileage.
The R2 has the charge port on the passenger side to make charging at Tesla stations straightforward. Drive in, plug in.
i originally preferred a Model Y. But the newly engineered Model 3 is a hotter car than the Model Y, so much so, that I would buy it over the Model Y even though there’s no $7500 tax credit.
As an EV owner, why would you buy an EV without having the ability to charge at home?? The supercharging cost and away from home charging times makes it unattractive for most.
You can charge for free at work
Do the solar panels in charging station provide a significant percentage of the required power or are they mainly there to provide shade?
Shade. It would take acres of panels to provide enough power for a 8 bay charging station.
The cybertruck costs like $100k right? That guy bought it for $100k + $50k fine. Selling for $250k still nets $100k profit.
Except Carmax gives you $70k, so it's $80k loss
Just now (28 Feb 2024) I can custom order a Model Y from the Tesla website in my area (Northern CA, USA.)
Is it really advisable to get a Tesla when you only rely on public charging like superchargers??
People shouldn't buy anything but the base model with the Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries. It's safer than the Lithium Polymer ones.
Just wait until people see how much their Insurance premiums will be, "No thanks"!
I tell ya right now those who aren't invested with Tesla will look back in 4 to 5 years wishing they would of got in. No other company will be as diverse and profitable as Tesla.
I’d be more tempted if their CEO was more stable. I think their vision and engineering and amazing but he take a look at X.
well or you could buy Nvidia or eli lilly and make soooo much more, ok I will give you one more palo alto networks. First two are pretty much played but the last one still has alot of potential.
@@michaelwittman1935 First of all I own some Nvidia as well been building computers for sinces the late 80's. I've seen where they have come and where they are going. However Tesla is so much more than automotive, tech, AI, space etc and we just only started. Mark my words 5 years Tesla is easily worth 3x as much as nvidia.
Always bugs me that wifi isn’t offered at all supercharger locations.
Canada is NOT getting those amazing lease rates. Dang it! That said, Canadian businesses buying a Tesla can get a 100% tax write-off in ONE year! Holy Frunk! Call yer accountant ....
Moving the charge port to the opposite side is obviously because of the supercharger NACS.
The Cybertruck will be a lot more capable once the axle lockers are enabled. I’m not sure what the holdup is with that. Most traction issues are related to the fact that there are no locking axles. Without that, and having open differentials, an AWD vehicle is really a two wheel drive vehicle and a front or rear wheel drive vehicle is really a one wheel drive vehicle. You can somewhat mitigate this with brakes like Subaru’s XDrive or some of the off road modes in some SUVs. But for anything more hardcore, you still need lockers.
All they have to do first is remake the design of the truck so that it doesn't look stupid as hell. 😄
@@AngryVoter6969 Tesla should have purchased Rivian. Elon made a mistake buying X, he should have used his money on Rivian.
Try finding a Tesla supercharger in New Zealand 🇳🇿. You would have better chances finding a piece of meteorite & if you do, they are at a motel where you have to book and stay at. So they got you by the @#$%& to not only use tge Tesla charger but also pay a higher daily motel rate than you might find 2 or 3 doors down the road.
Here are some apples for apples for you - There are actually almost 3X the number of SuperCharger sites per Tesla on the road in US vs ICE cars and gas stations.
A quick online search gives 286.9 million total cars in US (2022) and 1.5 million were EVs, leaving 285.4 million ICEs, making EVs 0.5% of the fleet. There were 2128 SuperCharger sites in the US (Jan24). Adding that to the 145,000 gas stations cited in the article and dividing 2128 by 147,128 shows that SuperCharger sites are 1.4% of the total public fueling sites. EVAmerica and others won't change that much, but the home charging does and leads to a firm conclusion that EVs, especially Teslas, have better fueling site availability than ICE cars.
FUD continues to be traveling disguised as news.
they only care about charging profits, not customers.
I've been waiting a DECADE for just 1 supercharger
Where?
Yes of course. It's a business not a charity.
Where do you live?
The r2 moving the charge port was a dumb move. There is going to be chaos at Tesla superchargers. These vehicles will take up 2 charging stalls to plug in.
From left front to right front supports the adoption of the NACS chargers. Tesla ports are on the left rear and you back in. Rivian on the right front and you park head in so no problem.
@@brownro214the new r2 is on the right rear if you watched the video you can clearly see it.

The lack of requirements for EV chargers at apartment complexes is THE reason why many drivers are not buying EVs. Tesla and other EV makers should lobby for states to establish these requirements.
Great content!
I wouldn’t buy a Model Y right now. I’d wait for the refreshed Model Y.
Tesla just wants to sell out their Model Y inventory.
why doesn’t it qualify for the tax incentive? (model 3) its not more than the 55k requirement
I believe it has to do with where the battery is sourced.
Tesla is adding full scale 4680 production at giga Nevada in the next few months to qualify for incentives.
