Question: Is there a way to expand fonts in Canva ? Im trying to have someone send me a canva file as a pdf but I don't have the font they used (CanvaBreeze)... Is there a way to get that font or expand it ?
Nobody has seemed to answer the questions of the fonts in Canva when exporting as a SVG or a PDF for Adobe Illustrator... do they export properly or is there a way to convert text to outlines in Canva?
Hi! I downloaded as pdf. When a select all an select release clipping mask, it shows NONE. I can see the word but it's not possible to click , just the one that says create! MacBook user! Thanks
How did you handle the text in your file in canva to export over correctly? Alot of my clients have been constantly sending me Canva PDFs but all the fonts are missing, messing up the whole design when i try to print it for them. I dont use Canva on my end and they cant seem to get the fonts from the site itself. I ask them to Outline the fonts in the terms of AI outlining where you convert text into vector shapes. Is there some easy method or missing click they are doing on their end that ends up keeping the fonts as text vs Vector shapes?
I used Canva pro to download my images in SVG Transparent background. In the downloads it goes directly to Illustrator. This vector works well for print on demand t shirts etc., but when I ask a printing co. to make samples the company said it was not in vector format for them to use. The company said it needed to be re -drawn and vectorized. The on Demand company said it was high resolution and the images look great on the t shirt. Do you know how I prepare the image for the t shirt companies that we want to order volume from?
Hi there, amazing video. I need help because a few elements of my design are missing when I export it as an svg from canva and import it into Illustrator. I don't know what to do. Help will be appreciated
Hi there! I have uploaded as both file types but it is not giving me the option to change fonts/colors/shapes in illustrator. Any steps I might be missing?
so you can take a free design off canva (lets say a car) someone else made, incorporate it into your own design then sell on lets say a tshirt and there is no copywrite issue?
Yes! Saving it as .ai (Adobe Illustrator file) is the highest quality file type to send to your t-shirt printer. They can resize the vector as needed without losing any quality!
if I make into a svg can I send to someone else so they can put it on a shirt? Also do they to have illustrator?? I dont know what he uses but he wants me to make it into a vector
Yes, someone can make a design into a shirt from an SVG. If they are someone who makes shirts, usually they will have Illustrator. You have to have Illustrator to be able to open .ai (Illustrator) files!
New to saving work as SVG here. Question: To clarify, it's not required to move your Canva SVG file over to Illustrator if all I need is a vector file of my work, correct? I have never done this. I just need work I did in Canva to be vector. Downloading it as vector will be fine if someone wants to open the file at any size, yes? Thank you! Great videos!
You can't export a design from Canva to a vector file. You will need to follow the instructions in this video to export from Canva as a SVG and then import that SVG into Illustrator to convert it to a vector file. A vector file is a type of Adobe illustrator file and will end in .ai after saving it in Illustrator. After you follow all of these steps, you can send the final file to someone and they can open it and scale it to any size. I suggest watching the video again thoroughly!
hello thanks for video when i upload svg to illustrator one image was missing it was a peach. i went back and change the image and it showed what do you think might be the issue?
Thank you! This was very helpful!
So glad it was helpful! Thanks for the nice comment!
Thank you! I found that SVG works best when imported to Illustrator. PDF gets messed up with fonts and shapes
You're so welcome! I completely agree.

yes. its like private labeling. you make a logo and use a companies products that has no label and put yours on it
that's not true. I've received copyright violations for using designs off Canvas
love this! when i add my design to illutrator do i then save the file as an ".ai" for t-shirt design printing?

Thanks a lot but once I export it as SVG file and open it in inkscape the elemets get pixelated. So it will work only in illustrator right?
I have not used Inkscape before, so I cannot attest to it working in Inkscape. I use this method in Illustrator!
@@dailycreativeco ok dear and thanks a lot

There must be an issue with the type of file if it works with one file and not the other.

When I convert my design, I have some elements missing. Can you tell me what might be going on?
(Converting from SVG, it has missing elements. Converting from PDF, it cannot copy my font.)
Same for Problem here

My illustrator keeps saying it doesn't support the file when I try PNG and SVG but works with PDF but I dont want the background
Do you have the most current version of Illustrator downloaded?
