As the floodings show us: Climate change is already there: 1°C degree warmer air brings 7% more rain !!! So thank you darling for promoting electrical busses. We all need to reduce the use of fossil energies !!!!!
The only thing missing is audio announcements like on the BTS. And speaking of reducing fossil fuels: did you see that the Gold Line has a new station?
Oh, you're right. The Internet seemed to be telling me that there was, but now I see that there isn't. I wouldn't know, because I live in Chiang Mai. But there will be one opening soon!
Another fun vid! Going to keep this one in mind for next year. In fact, I have to say thank you Jeroen. Because during our trip in August we've done some of the amazing attractions you've shown us! Superb!
Hi Jeroen, Another great video. I like to keep updated on what is happening in Bangkok, especially this area where I used to live in Sathorn. I occasionally used the BRT. A problem they used to have is 'cheating' motorists, particularly, taxis, using the BRT lane. Not sure how they can stop this, apart from having smart/AI cameras and fines with number plate recognition (assuming that the vehicles are properly registered)....
A lot of the line didn’t look dedicated. It just had a painted BRT marking in the center of the lane. No barrier for motor traffic to enter in or out of the lanes. I saw a few vehicles in this “dedicated lane”. This was on a Sunday with no traffic on the adjoining roads. I wonder how efficient the BRT will be during high volume traffic during the week. Will it become just another bus route battling with the traffic or are they really enforcing these dedicated BRT lanes. The parts of the line where there were barriers looked great for commuting.
Police have never enforced the supposed BRT lanes - even the ones that are physically separated by barriers are regularly encroached upon by cars. It's not too bad on Narathiwat, but once the buses turn onto Rama III they often get stuck in traffic.
Very interesting and thanks for posting this! I was just wondering if, when payment begins, the BRT has its own ticketing system or will it accept the Rabbit card and/or can you use a credit card at the fare gates?
Just because im the 1% that does not benefit from the system even though it passes my house so i can't criticise ? and push the authority to solve the issue? What a joke!

Nice video, but these "improvements" have changed what was only ever a "BRT Lite" into nothing more than an electric express bus - they eliminated the features that made this a BRT (off-board payment, platform-level boarding) for no reason. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/BRT_Standard

MRT, BTS, BRT all systems are really good, clean, fast and safe. ❤them all 😊🙏🇹🇭💯✌🏼
Bangkok always improving! Thanks for nice update, Jeroen!
Great to see the new electric buses on the BRT line. Used it daily to go to work on the old buses. Cheap 👍
Very nice the New EV Bus. I know the old situation, this like more better and more nice. 🙏
Thank you. It's videos like this that makes you my favorite Bangkok based RUclipsr. No BS, just good informative videos.

Thank you so much making this video. Very useful. Really appreciated.
It's actually quite nice, honestly. 😮👏🏻 Thanks for showing us the ride.🤗🤩

Thank you for this useful new information and this nice video (as usual)! Can´t wait to try it out.

Nice BRT and beautiful view.😊👍
Hello from Chicago! Informative episode.
Glad you liked it Scott :-)
Nice update. The older system actually looked better. It seems the ramp has steps, not good for wheelchairs.
Yes, looks like it has become less accessible somehow 😅
Nice bus
Well done

Yeah, especially during rush hour you see quite a few other motorists use the lane.
I like your videos. Please get a dedicated mic, the ambient noise is much louder than your voice

There are BRT lines in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil as well. It seems that this system is spreading around the world.

A city like Bangkok needs a good public transport system otherwise the city would be one huge traffic jam :-)
What was the temperature outside during this video?
Hoi Deventer...😁Ik ben ooit met die oude wat kleinere bus mee gegaan... Deze is een stuk groter... Mogen we misschien met onze vouwfiets daarin??
Haha, Hoi! I think it will be no problem to take your foldeable bike in there :-)
Just went on that tour a couple weeks in s ago
I hope you enjoyed it Eric. I love the Green Lung tour.
@@globaltravelmate yeah. It was great. Pictures are now on their website!
Can this bus be paid for with Rabbit or MRT card? Please tell me there isn't a separate payment system that isn't cash
They are testing ths system now. It is for free, so I do not know how the payment will be. I don't think you can use the Rabbit or MRT card for it.
The system is run by BTS. It previously used Rabbit for payment, and has announced that the new buses will accept both Rabbit and QR code.
Any idea if they plan to finish the other BRT routes that were once planned but never finished?
Are you review on today,Jeroen?
So the future BRT buses will be low-decks?
OK what happens when a bus breakdown in the dedicated roads with a curb (Kerb) on the left of the bus?
Chinese CRRC manufactured chasis for these BRT buses.
Just because im the 1% that does not benefit from the system even though it passes my house so i can't criticise ? and push the authority to solve the issue? What a joke!
More like push the surrounding residence to add a stop close to where you are…
new Bangkok governor used money to downgrade the system, less capcity, harder to enter and exit from the bus😂
Let's hope it doesn't catch fire.
Useless system the stations are to far apart.
There are stations about every 1 km just like BTS and MRT. What are you talking about.
They have done very good useful system.
