    your idea is better than mine i zip tied the collet up and used vice grips to pull on the bit took two days of pulling on that thing until i got the bit out dewalt bits sometimes refuse to leave a makita collet

    How did you manage to get the sleeve off?

      The guy who brought it to me took it off but there is a little hog ring at the end that holds it all together if you get a small screwdriver you should be able to pry it out
