Though never a ninja, I did train in martial arts for years. Back then no one looked forward to training with the Battle Axe vehicle. The indiscriminate way the axe feature swung around caused it to take out instructors, students, custodians, and casual visitors to the dojo. Luckily that training was discontinued after one year.
He's becoming more and more popular this guy which is good to see. I love his colours, I think he's great 👹 " Whoever wrote this filecard us under the mistaken assumption that they are funny" 😂
Also your comments on the card is epic. I laughed my ass off when you said ' I hate this file card". Even if I didn't like Joe's I'd watch your stuff just for the awesome comments you have. Love it
I was actually rather stoked when I heard they were finally making the "Red Ninja" into a figure. Then I saw the depiction and thought "Come on!!!" Also, to further cement your statement that Red Ninja and Dice aren't related... He was a former Night Creeper.
Awesome video like all your videos love your channel awesome videos love to watch them over and over again and never get tired of them love the details of your videos and i dunno if you made this video cause the comment i left requesting a question i had if there such thing as a vintage red ninja if you thank so much and god bless your channel
I’ve noticed lately vintage GI*Joe has gone up in price big time! The 1985 Snake Eyes with Timber Wolf is now going for $150+. I got mine in 2013 for $45 complete with an autographed card back. Insane. I think the new movie coming out and the classified line is driving up the prices.
@@aaronstepien2363 for real though. Glad I started collecting vintage in 2007, not including what I already had from my childhood. Thanks to “online hype” I can now sell just one of my complete Starduster figures for $250+ on eBay, when I was getting them for like $75 on average back in 2012. 😂. If I wanted to sell that is, which I never do.
People are now going to chase this figure for the file card alone now.., anyone thinking about putting it up on eBay; make sure you list if the file card is included
This feels like a case of the toy designer and the copywriter being on completely separate pages in terms of what the character was, and/or possibly a case of the photos supplied to the writer being so poor quality that the orange looked red. And what was with all the pink on everything in this era? For a company that seemed to think boys didn't want "girly" stuff and made 2 female a year at most, they sure went wild with the pink on the toys and the packaging. Ironically the one girl they did make had no pink on her. I can live with it on a character like Piranhacon(Seacons) where it's possibly appropriate due to the undersea nature of the toys, but I can't imagine those colors tested well with the focus groups like they claimed. Even Transformers G2 or late G1 wasn't quite THAT bad...
Adding on from my other Mortal Kombat comment, it’s surprising that they didn’t use a repainted ninja from that line for a red ninja army builder figure.
I love GIJoe, I love the 90’s, I love bright colors, I love Ninjas in GIJoe and I love Ninja Force…never cared for this guy though, partially due to his name making no sense partially because he was a full repaint. However…that file card is just offensive.
Absolutely agree. Worst file card ever. Terrible vehicle. I really liked Dice and his ninja move but I can pass on this figure. I'd rather army build Slice as red ninjas.
Any chance of getting the Mortal Kombat movie versions ? Most of the figures use the unproduced bodies from the scrapped third wave of Ninja Force, and the complete figure of movie Shang Tsung is the unproduced Ninja Force Budo.
You should watch a RUclips channel called Masaman. I'm suggesting Masaman because of one of your comments about the figure. You would probably learn a lot from the channel. Thanks for reviewing all figures. This figure looks horrible but I'm still glad I'm learning about him. I was about ten years old when this figure came out but I don't remember him even though I liked most of the Ninja Force figures. My brother was born in 1975 and I was born in 1983 and so I grew up with the whole run of the original G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toyline and I could tell back then that many figures in the 1990s were not that great but I still was heavily collecting G.I. Joe toys and regularly watching G.I. Joe cartoons and reading G.I. Joe comics up until G.I. Joe Extreme and Action Man.
Wow we are born the same year and I have a sister who was born in 1974, grew up on the original Gi joe as well, I liked the sunbow better than the dic series, but at least we had Gi joe cartoons to watch
I'm making my way through Action Man right now. I only watched a few episodes when it originally aired. Mostly watching Robotech and many shows related to Robotech in some way right now but will probably add more G.I. Joe/Transformers related shows once I get through more of the Robotech related shows. I've collected my whole life but slowed down on toys when I got in high school. I still have most of the collectables that I have ever had but I really need to start organizing my collection (comics, tapes, dvds, video games, toys, books, cds, etc.).
I like robotech it's a really good series, have you seen exo squad, it's related to robotech, if the series had continued it would have connected to robotech, they even sold robotech toys under exo squad, also have you ever seen Gi joe extreme it's not bad or the Sgt Savage short movie
Yeah, Exo Squad and Robotech are two of my favorite shows. Exo Squad will be on the watch list. I just got done watching Macross ADV English Version. I'm also watching Macross Japanese Version, Macross Zero, Area 88, Dougram, Zillion, Battletech, Megazone 23, and waiting for the next episode of Robotech Defenders (fan edit using mostly Dougram and Orguss) to come out. I watched G.I. Joe Extreme when it originally aired (I saw more episodes of it than Action Man back then); I was disappointed in it when it came out because I wanted a more serious show like Robotech or Exo Squad but I think I'll enjoy it more when I watch it now (I'm enjoying Action Man more than I did when I was younger). I liked the Sgt. Savage episode a lot when I first saw it (I still have it and the figure it came with) but it's been a while since I've watched it.
This figure was in the wrong sub-set. He looks like he belongs in the sub-set that had aliens in it. As far as the name goes, I can see it going like this. Cobra recruiter: What's your code-name going to be. Red Ninja: Call me, Battle-Axe. Cobra Recruiter: Sorry, that's a name Destro is using for his new ahm... vehicle design... yeah, lets go with that. Red Ninja: Okay then... I seem to remember Red Ninjas used to be cool. Call me Red Ninja! Cobra Recruiter: You're wearing Blue and Orange. Why Red Ninja? Red Ninja: The Cobra supply office was out of red material!
Both sides have to identify themselves with the same ninja force logo because of the Genova convention states that ninja force equipment and personnel must be identified with the ninja force logo. Kind of like how ambulances have to all be identified with a giant Red Cross
Ouch, that file card writer got no slack from HCC. I figured there'd be at least a modicum of empathy extended to the intern likely responsible, seeing how HCC has also had "funny bits" land with the grace of a wounded goose. I think 90's ninja-mania is getting to you. Time for a re-review of Stalker V1 to get your spirits up again.
Wow that's terrible. Why isn't he just Dice v2? That vehicle gimmick seems terrible given its unpredictability. At least we got to see Jynx so that's always a plus!
You're completely wrong! Hasbro was trying to capitalizTthe oce on the success of Chuck noriss movie ' the octagon!' And Frank Miller's hand ninjas in daredevil!
My theory is that the red ninja was dice's twin brother who wanted to be his partner, but he was so shit at being a ninja, he was reduced to driving a terrible vehicle and slice became dice's partner instead.
Just sold my battle ax a couple days ago, not that I don’t like 90’s Joes it’s just this is a bad vehicle. The buyer asked me if I had the Red Ninja, I said I don’t think so. I didn’t even know this vehicle came with a figure. I have several collector books so this is not a memorable toy. And this figure was not what I was thinking when the buyer asked. Glad it’s gone!
Wow, that is not a red ninja, still a good review, the tattoo on his arm has a cobra emblem on it if you look hard, also if you look at the commercial the red ninja was painted like the file card, I'm not joking just look, what the hell Hasbro, how come in the commercial the figures are painted correctly from the art but the the full production are not, was someone at Hasbro doing crack or LSD because that would make a lot of sense, even with the colors, at least later Hasbro did finally make a red ninja and used a storm shadow v2 so they would look like a real red ninja from the comics painted in red, if Hasbro wanted to make a red ninja for the 90s they should have used the mold from mortal kombat sub zero/scorpion and paint it red
I might just have a really fucked sense of colour but like... a lot of images and videos I've seen of Red Ninja has him in red? It's fluorescent red and hues close to pink but it's still red to me... The thumbnail drawing is more orange than the actual video.
ugh, the figure and vehicle make me want to vomit. I mean really, I just felt it in my throat and have a nausea headache starting. Was Hasbro doing any drug testing on its employees in the 90s? Maybe they were in withdrawal because they used it all in the 80s.
By this terribly awful file-card I think there must have been an idea that kids buying this would beg their parents to go to the Asian restaurants in the malls foodcourt!
The TMNT influence felt strongly those days. Even on the file cards apparently. We were lucky not to get pizza stickers for the vehicles.
Go ninja go ninja go!!! The 25th anniversary line had a actual red ninja figure! It looked great!
Though never a ninja, I did train in martial arts for years. Back then no one looked forward to training with the Battle Axe vehicle. Chinese training dummy this thing is not.

Two things that were certain in the 90's neon colors and ninjas! Its great to see good old Dr Mindbender on the chopping block for this review.
Your delivery of “I hate this filecard” made me spit out my coffee.
I get the feeling whoever named the vehicle Battle Axe was taking a thinly veiled shot at his wife. 😀
InstaBlaster.
I dig the modern o-ring comic pack Red Ninjas, that use the v2 Storm Shadow mold....just in red. They're a cool figure to army build.
Also your comments on the card is epic. I laughed my ass off when you said ' I hate this file card". Even if I didn't like Joe's I'd watch your stuff just for the awesome comments you have. Love it
You wanna know why the price tag is going up on that figure?
I guarantee it's that priceless file card.
I chuckled at the joke from the beginning throughout the entire video.
Blue ... orange ... Red Ninja.
Yep, everything checks out. What’s the problem?
Department of redundancy department is pretty clever.
I missed that.
That made me snort :D
So enjoyed the great work and humor B, thank you! Can't wait for the live chats to resume someday!
That "tattoo" has a cobra symbol inside of a throwing star. Clearly it would have been put on after joining Cobra.
“Sweet and sour moments” Terribly hilarious in the most ignorant way. I really enjoyed how he described the file card, trash.
I was actually rather stoked when I heard they were finally making the "Red Ninja" into a figure. Then I saw the depiction and thought "Come on!!!" Also, to further cement your statement that Red Ninja and Dice aren't related... He was a former Night Creeper.

That online hype

For me, I made the Red Ninja a Nazi that the Joes fight and gave the Battle Axe to the Dreadnoks as one of their attack vehicles.
In south america we had a red stormshadow called Satana and it was my favourite action figure back then
"We trained him wrong on purpose. As a joke."

The space was there so when you crashed the 2 ax vehicles together the figure would be able to fly out.
Slice and Dice baby!...
Adding on from my other Mortal Kombat comment, it’s surprising that they didn’t use a repainted ninja from that line for a red ninja army builder figure.
I'm in the right mood for this review! I hear ya!
It's actually R.E.D. Ninja: Reuse Everything from Dice. The bio should say they're his fan club :)
I love GIJoe, I love the 90’s, I love bright colors, I love Ninjas in GIJoe and I love Ninja Force…never cared for this guy though, partially due to his name making no sense partially because he was a full repaint. However…that file card is just offensive.

The FrAnK loves seeing the newer Joes!
red is a state of mind
My second favorite figure. The battle axs were awesome.
What’s your first fav?
@@ZBR_ProXP alley viper v.2

This would have worked better as a ninja turtle vehicle.
Indeed, that purple and grey just screams: "foot clan".
Speaking for the color blind, that orange vest, looks salmon red like. I have to squint so hard my eyes blur to see orange.
Real ninjas have the ability to disappear. I'm gonna pretend this figure is an actual ninja, and hope it disappears... forever.
Hilarious review. Laughed a few times.
Pretty sure Red Ninja is just Dice rebranding himself.
Why red ninja when he’s blue and orange?
He thought it was black and red.
Dice is colorblind!
Exactly!
SlICe and DiCe!
Was the Red Ninja sold separately or together with the vehicle?

I absolutely LOATHE that file card. It’s like the writer was confused as to whether he was writing for G.I. Joe or TMNT.
I don't understand why they renamed these to be vehicle drivers. It should have just been Dice & Storm Shadow. No need to create new characters.
There are some pretty bad file cards out there but this one is absolutely atrocious

I'm just gonna pretend that this guy's codename is Battle Axe and that the vehicle doesn't exist.
I dont necessarily want red ninja but I do need one to complete set
I think that one could be a Dreadknock vehicle for urban assault maybe, but no real ninja would use that thing XD
I will wish upon a star⭐ so I may see the GI Joe Mauler review.
12:26 Rapid fire missile guns... So, they're heavy bolters? Is Doctor Mindbender a Tech-Priest of Mars?
I had this figure and vehicle but sold it because I hated the colour. Now I’m kicking myself

Maybe Hasbro thought the orange was red. Maybe red orange.
Slice should have been the Red Ninja. The sculpt would have been perfect as a troop builder.
I had dice, 👍
HCC already reviewed Slice and Dice correct?
Yes hcc788 had reviewed slice and dice both together in one review, so you get 2 for 1
I suppose you could consider that pinkish/orange color a form of "red".
Trying to cash in on the popularity of the Ninja Turtles... That REALLY explains that gawd awful file card...

currently $300 on ebay

Yikes, not an easy review. That figure is pretty bad. =/
