Thanks for another great video Tom. Sincilo was my last knife of 2023 before my 24 resolution for no new knives. Got mine in MAGNACUT. The choil is the issue with that knife, it will bite you with hard use. Extra large hands, if I get into any form of pressing down on the knife I’m nicked a little. I’m always nicked somewhere so I don’t pay it much mind. I sharpened the spine on mine, where it would scrape bark and throw sparks on a fero rod. It’s my motorcycle knife now. I like MAGNACUT a lot, if they ever make a E3 or E4 in MAGNACUT those are gonna be hard to beat. Still hanging tough on my resolution, 7 1/2 months down. Thanks again for the laughs.

Seven and 1/2 months. Congrats. You have tremendous will power. If it were not for the "Loophole" I don't know if I could really have done a full year of not buying.
Glad I'm not alone with the "choil" issue. Maybe if enough of us complain, they will go back to the drawing board and make it right.

The ESEE-3 HM has the exact same problem with the transition from handle to blade. I have cut myself more than once because of it. I love everything else about it and even with that one flaw is still one of my most carried fixed blades.
Yep. I bought one of those when they first came out and regretted it for the same reason.
I was considering getting the Sencillo in magnacut but I’m going to hold out for the pacaya in 3V .

How is it that you know the correct pronunciation? I’m not questioning your pronunciation… I just want to know how you actually know the right way? So that I can find the source, know for sure that is actually that way, and properly pronounce it in future videos.

You could probably use a dremmel tool to dull 1/8 of the edge and notch in a sharpening choil. I put my Izula 2 in my front pocket with a paracord line that i loop through my belt.

Good video. All valid points. This knife geometry is for small food prep, it's not a waddling knife. Lately Esee has been dissapointing with some of their new models, instead of building upon amd improving their legendary legacy. This knife and their Kukri being some of the examples. Cheers!

Are you really sure you dont want to see more designs from ESEE? I sometimes wonder if they couldn't break a mold or two.

More designs would be cool, if they would just do me the one favor, and make the Izula out of great steel. The S35VN is quite nice, but Magnacut would just be freakin' awesome. 3V would be nice too.

Yes I did. HOWEVER...remember, there is the Loophole. The channel, which according to tax law, is it's own entity, it is actually doing the buying. I'm simply helping out said entity and choosing which knives it should buy!!! 😂

A2 (especially with a convex grind, that combo for me has been unfailing) and 3V are my 2 favorite steels. Very underrated steels in my opinion. I now need a Sencillo! Awesome video! ✌️
I've always liked A2 and O1 and D2. All the other stuff is just gravy.

Nice blade. I also would love if they came up with an Updated Izula/Izula 2 with thinner blade geometry and 3v/MagnaCut or even Cruwear.

I really want a Sencillo. It came out just after I bought my Izula II. Yeah I'm a bit salty about that.
Welp, as much as I like the A2, and the size, I'm using my S35VN Izula with the extended handles 90% of the time bacause of that one major issue I have with the Sencillo. Too bad. They should have thought that out better.
