I'm coming in on this video in 2020 - watching your adventures from the start. I have to say it really seems like, so far, the people of Vietnam are just incredibly friendly in comparison to the other Asian countries you've visited up to this point. I love seeing their friendly smiles and how extremely helpful they've all been. Granted, the other countries you've been to just might not have such an open and friendly culture at least to western viewpoints. I'm sure if I grew up in one of those countries, smiling, giddy people might seem completely bizarre.
The sandwich shop guy sounds pretty cool! Love his theory on selling his stuff inexpensively so that tourists would like Vietnam instead of price gouging them!
While in Hanoi a few years ago we went to bahn mi 25 everyday! So good! I remember talking with the owner as well. Such a wonderful experience. Still always suggest it to friends going to Vietnam!
Hi body is real: The team of scientists were flown in to Vietnam during the height of the Vietnam war and were taken to a top-secret temporary tomb lying north of the capital. There they began the long process of embalming Ho Chi Minh. American troops were actively searching for the leader’s body; if they had captured it, it would have been the best bargaining tool to force Vietnamese soldiers to release American POW’s. The Vietnamese knew this and kept Ho’s body hidden in an underground chamber deep in the jungle. Eventually, war hostilities escalated and Ho’s body had to be moved to a safer location. His body was transported some 15 km down the Red River (also known as the Hồng Hà and Sông Cái) and placed inside an enormous cave outfitted with air conditioners, electricity, running water and a full laboratory where the scientists carried out the rest of the lengthy embalming process. It wasn’t until peace agreements were signed in 1975 that the mausoleum was inaugurated and Ho Chi Minh’s body was securely laid inside the grand tomb. It is a place for devoted Vietnamese to honour their cherished leader; but, ironically, at the cost of denying Ho Chi Minh’s wishes to be cremated.
I am currently in Vietnam (Da Nang at the moment)- yall's coconut coffee looks so good! I had one in Hanoi and it was hot and extremely bitter. I'm a daily coffee drinker and couldn't finish it, but after watching this (again lol) I want to try another one. I did have a very delicious egg coffee though. My husband and I are currently obsessed with the milk coffee here (who knew condensed milk in coffee was so good?!). Y'all are a huge inspiration for us! We just started full time travel 2 weeks ago and are going to go as long as we can! Trying to do the vlog thing too, but we also are working while we travel so still trying to find the balance of work, travel and vlog. Happy travels! :)
I just found your channel a few days ago and now my sister and I binge watch all of your videos until you post a new one. We love seeing where you go next and the experiences you have!
What awesome videos you two post. Vietnam, coconut coffee are on my must do list now! I also want to try Baan Mi sandwiches. Thanks for all your hard work in bringing us these quality videos!
Vietnam has been my favorite country I've visited so far. And Hanoi maybe my favorite city. These videos have made me wanna go back. And we went to that sandwich shop, amazing! I still dream of it
Loved this. I was in Hanoi last November (2015) and remember the egg coffee well. Mine was served over ice because it was so hot outside. DELICIOUS! This makes me want to return....
hi Kara and Nate! I'm in Hanoi right now and I just try the coconut coffee! it's really good!! thanks for the suggestion... I just stumbled across the same cafe and I remember this video, so I go in without any second doubts.. thanks!
Drinking coffee is very much a Vietnamese cultural thing that we adopted since French colonial time. Vietnamese coffee tastes stronger because we roast Robusta beans instead of Arabica. Regardless, I am enjoying your trips around the world and thank you for your vlogs. Looking forward to seeing more of these exciting trips. - Love from Seattle, WA
OMG! This makes me wanna visit Vietnam even more! Those stamps!! That coffee looks amazing! If you're ever find yourselves in Seattle, let me know! Starbucks and their reserve roastery is here!
We are going to Hanoi in just under a year. After seeing this again I want to go NOW!!! Oh well Cuba in 3 weeks and a cruise in September will have to do in the mean time lol
I think I read somewhere Lenin's body at Red Square in Moscow is also wax, although some say it's just very well preserved. I so want to visit Hanoi - and I will... in six months. I'm using your excellent videos as guides on what to do and eat. I think your videos are brilliant.
That coffee was nuts. It looked so yummy! I'm guessing they beat a bunch of egg yolks with sweetened condensed milk to get the sweet, foamy topping. Like a meringue but richer due to the yolks. This might be something to try at home.
I love how everyone likes to through peace signs haha. Also to your comment about the shop owner. That made me so sad for some reason. He seems like such a nice guy. It is true that people dont like to feel ripped off when they travel. I mean on one hand its understandable that if you live in a less fortunate country and your main income is from tourism, you have to make the best of everyday. On the other side its the longevity of people coming back time and time again. Look at the fact that we all look at reviews and go to the places that other people liked as well. That guy is doing the right thing. What a kind person!!
watching your vietnam vlogs cause i miss vietnam so much!!! glad you guys enjoyed viet coffee! i can barely handle drinking one cause its so strong but i loveeee ca phe sua da (iced viet coffee with condensed milk)
Great video! We loved the coffee in Vietnam! especially the egg and yogurt coffee Hanoi. Not sure if you guys were able to check it out but there is an incredible rooftop coffee shop called cafe Pho Co that you access through a silk shop. It has incredible views and awesome coffee!
Hi , can you please tell me in what city is the cafe PHO CO u mentioned above, also the video about the egg and coconut coffee is filmed in what city? thanks buddy
Where did you guys get your travel backpacks? I see they also turn into rolling suitecases? OH! have you guys done what a travel with or travel essentials already video??
Hey Kara and Nate, we just returned from a SE Asia trip and when in Hanoi we went looking for the place with the fried balls and I can confirm that it was super delicious, we tried it a day later from a street vendor whilst waiting for the train to pass by on train street and it just wasn't the same, these were delicious and so much cheaper too. We didn't try the Doner because its something we aleady eat too much of in Germany 😉Thanks for the great tips!
Hey! I found your channel when you did the meetup with the other two couples (way away and endless adventure). I am enjoying your vlogs and I am really going to start my own now, just haven't figured out what to do yet, but I am going back to Berlin next month and I am taking a day trip to San Diego next week.... I also have a great flight video over Sylt back in April, have to figure out how to edit now... But now I am googling Vietnamese egg coffee first.... Yay! Great insight into those countries you visit. I would have loved to have seen more scenery from your Trans Siberian adventure, though. But I guess that is my personal preference. I love to see the surroundings/scenery of the world.
I can't wait to try authentic coffee egg someday! When I was younger my grandma would make me something similar (without the coffee, though, just beat up egg whites with sugar) and it was so delicious. I should try that and add coffee. At least to hold me over until I try the real thing, haha!
You "love coconut" now hahaha fast forward to surviving on a island eating only coconut and how do you feel about it now Nate?! hahah! Love your stamp! So cool! And where did your accents go!? ;)
i have been drank egg coffee since i was a kid, wayy before egg coffee become famous. if egg coffee is for tourist only then it should be every where, out of the street. so is coconut coffee. you guys just didnt come to the right places. its like each store has its own color :3
:)) when you said you were gonna turn the cam off in 5 4 3..., that vietnamese man said "ê tắt đi cu" means "turn it off boy" we use "cu" for little kids in an informal way.
Legit, that stamp just blew my whole mind! All the detail was so perfect... What a legend!
I think you are so cute Kara! I love that you sing and dance and are totally yourself. 😊 don't ever change
you guys should really start marking places on google maps so you can revist them again and for us too of course :)

Your accents are so adorable! Been following you since at least 2020, and I’m living for baby Kara + Nate❤

Coconut ice cream has been added to the bucket list.
@Andy Colin Congratulation! I achieved badge "The Risker"

I gasped when I saw him do the stamp for the first time! So cool!

The Ho's body is made of wax so that tiny room is so cold to prevent the wax melts, that was the locals told me when I was there.
You are make me drooling with coffe egg. it's so lovely
Also, love the stamp!! How cool he custom made you your new logo!
Vietnam has been my favorite country I've visited so far. And Hanoi maybe my favorite city. These videos have made me wanna go back. And we went to that sandwich shop, amazing! I still dream of it

The Bloopers at the end are my favourite part of your Videos :)
