Oh the memories that little tune brings back! staying up late to try and beat my brother's and my dad's high score, then writing my score on a huge piece of carboard!
Hey thanks a bunch for this. I downloaded the video to edit out all of the sound effects and songs for use in a unity project. Going to give you credit. Yes, I'm remaking this game in unity over the next week and this was the easiest way to get the sound effects and song. PS: Huge congrats on uploading videos for 15 whole years. You are an OG youtuber. Shame you only have 13.2k subscribers. Make that 13.201 subscribers.
When I played Atari, I was only 4 and Frogger was too challenging for me. Then at age 5, I played NES, then onto SNES and N64. For me, Atari went from being too challenging to being just too original.
This is an old video, so I think half the flickering issue (or all of it) is because the youtube video isn't 50/60fps, as the framerate of the 360p videos is maxed out at 25/30fps. I think the Atari did have flickering issues due to limitations, but yeah I suspect the CRT would reduce the impact of it.
This brings back great memories, but I'm kinda shocked you struggled with level 1 and 2, and died on Level 3. Usually I could breeze past levels 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, have a little trouble with 6, breeze past level 7, and usually I'd die on Level 8. Highest I made it to was Level 13.
Heh, 11 years ago, then I reply... Froggy takes one step at a time, The way that he moves has no reason or rhyme, He hops and jumps, dodges and ducks, Cars and buses, vans and trucks!

Write it on poster board not cardboard...bums use cardboard
@@UPBEATFOREVER We didn't have a poster board in those days! Lol!
My dad was a cardboard box manufacturer, so cardboard was free!!
😂😂😂
I'm 10 years old again. This put a smile on my face. I ❤️ frogger!
that Fing Frogger music has been stuck in my head for 30 years !
40 years now
I had an Atari 2600 and had about 15 games on it, this was one of them. I really regret selling it now! Retro games beat today's games any day.

LOL this takes me back. I remember it took me forever to pass stages 9 and 10. The traffic was out of control. Thanks for posting this.
Reminds of people crossing the street aimlessly these days.and of course childhood memories!
Memories of getting in trouble cursing from my parents when I died 😂
I played this game in my father's company, using that stick is really fun.
1980s developers: That'll be $60
"Playing frogger with my life
Frogger with my life!

(Frogger - Bad Religion)
Why you dont catch the white frog?
He probably thins it's an enemy of some sort.
Viewing this from 2021 because because Gator from The past ship made mention of it
You need to show these on a 4:3 aspect.

2021 version: teen crossing a street while watching a smartphone...
Does anyone know, was the flickering less obvious on CRT screens, or is this just how it looked?

How to start?

Froggy takes one step at a time,
The way that he moves has no reason or rhyme,
He hops and jumps, dodges and ducks,
Cars and buses, vans and trucks!
This was obviously recorded from a really, REALLY glitchy, flickery emulation... the real Atari 2600 version looks and plays MUCH better!
Yes frogs can swim but the water is toxic, or so the story goes.
But not to turtles, alligators, or otters!
You bastard, I'm only here for the music
