I don't comment on videos usually, watched all of the episodes, and although I have my favourites that may have been eliminated, I completely understand the situation you are in, and why you've made decisions, love the fact you've addressed the issues as they occur and everyone needs to calm down, take on board the fact that this realistically is a pilot series for multiple in the future, and you were bound to make a few errors, these errors are being addressed for future series, and to finish this off, I really enjoy the series, and will be voting In the final, for who though, who knows, one thing I do know is, never forget to hashtag it #.
If the final is going to be decided based on a public vote, the whole series, or at least more of the rounds should have a public voting aspect. By factoring in their opinion earlier, the remaining contestants will be both who the judges/public want, and you will minimise this 'bullying' problem. Although i don't agree with the hate Durkin has received, the series is essentially over now as he clearly wont win a public vote. Big fan, keep up the good work. #.
Suggestions for rules for Academy #2: -You may not enter the competition if you are a direct relation to anyone on the current roster of Hashtag United. -You may not enter the competition if you have a RUclips channel with more than 10k subscribers. -You may not enter the competition if you have played for another youth academy past U12. I would also suggest having more than one "winner." Since some of the boys in the main side are not able to make the trip, it would be good for HU to carry upwards of 40 players. So with the next Academy, maybe allowing the top 3 to go through would be a nice idea. I also recommend doing a bit more of the 11 on 11. It would help show off actual in-game abilities compared to more isolated skills (like pushups). Cheers and much respect from across the pond.

I've got to agree with spencer, just imagine he had left the situation and ignored it, and we had two finalists; one of the players brothers, and a youtuber with over 100 k subscribers who spencer already knew was talented. This series is about finding young talent from across the nation. He already knew that Adam Lovett and jemel akeem where talented footballers, so for one of the to one, the series would have been a complete waste of time, as they would have discovered nothing.

Spencer you are basing the series on who has the best talent in football. You your self said that you where looking at the most talented players to play for Hashtag. ridiculous how even after explaining how this is the first time they have done such a series and they may have made a few mistakes, people are still saying "why did you do this? why did you do that?". Pretty sure some people just love to find negative things to moan about rather than looking at all of the positives this series has given to us as viewers and the people who get the opportunity to be involved in something like this. We should be praising Spencer for putting a lot of time and effort into something that gives an opportunity for the fans. Not every youtuber would be willing to do this. It's a show based on opinions so of course there is going to be conflicts in opinions, but the way some of you go over the top with abuse etc is just embarassing.
Spencer you said in this video you've been doing this for years and you know what would happen if Lovatt won it, but this video is barbaric, not only is it gonna make it worse. People now know that it's getting to you and the other people which will encourage these keyboard warriors to carry on. Comments section should really chill out. I find it useless to complain after they have posted the video because they can't undo the decisions they have made. Although decisions made were divisive, what we should do is just respect their decisions and learn to compromise. People make mistakes, Spencer and the others are still learning as they make this series, they had never done things like this before, they are providing us with fresh new contents everytime ! It's okay to voice out your opinions/criticisms, but cut them some slack for crying out loud. Anyway, I really enjoy this series Spencer, hope there will be a second season ! Keep it up Spencer :)
I'd have to say fair play for addressing the issue, the main thing I had a problem with (which I was very glad you mentioned) was the idea of not letting people apply if you've no intention of letting them win, be that for YT reasons or a connection to the club.
Talking about connections, joe durkins dad is the manager of Wycombe and akinfenwa is friends with spencer. Joe even said that his dad had a word with akinfenwa about letting him through
Good to see you standing by everything Spencer. There have been some issues within this series, but you've learnt from it and thus your future content will be that much better for it. I am aware that I have posted a comment criticising a player who has done well to make it to where he has, but I also stick by my criticisms. I don't believe that what I have said has been out of spite, and I hope that my view (one of thousands) is not taken as spite. Yourself, all the players who have participated, Hashtag United and those associated with this, have made something fantastic and I have enjoyed watching it. Keep up the good work.

I think the opportunities you are giving people is great and the reasoning behind the decisions made is wise and completely reasonable. Sadly rationality is something RUclips doesn't seem to have!! I not fair to have a go a Durkin it's not his fault, its the fault of the people making the decisions the best players are being cut from the process and its wrong if Lovett can't win cause he has a brother then he should have been cut long ago, and if having a background in youtube will get you cut then that should have been said. The players that went out are 2 of the best footballers and personality u had and they got kicked out for reason that haven't even been tested in the trials and that should affect the result or should have been addressed long before the process started.

To be honest Spencer has been trapped between a rock and a hard place. I remember on the day of my trial he has all the stuff going on with Palmers and it ruined the day abit, it was elongated by a large amount (which lead to me and a few others gaining cramp etc) of time and I dont believe that spencer paid full attention to everyone playing but thats life and it just spurred me on to try again next time. He cannot please everyone, Adam Lovett and Jemel were excellent footballers and like Spencer said they will probably be wearing a hastag shirt in the near future. I believe in Spencer and I think he will sort this out and give as much justice as he can but the bullying in disgusting, ive gone through the comments and some of the stuff said about Durkin is disgusting and anyone making them are probably just jealous but its also just ruining a otherwise brilliant series that was a great pleasure to be a part in. Everyone just needs to chill out and let time do its work and maybe give constructive critism over hateful bullying.

I don't comment on videos usually, watched all of the episodes, and although I have my favourites that may have been eliminated, I completely understand the situation you are in, and why you've made decisions, love the fact you've addressed the issues as they occur and everyone needs to calm down, take on board the fact that this realistically is a pilot series for multiple in the future, and you were bound to make a few errors, these errors are being addressed for future series, and to finish this off, I really enjoy the series, and will be voting In the final, for who though, who knows, one thing I do know is, never forget to hashtag it #.
If the final is going to be decided based on a public vote, the whole series, or at least more of the rounds should have a public voting aspect. By factoring in their opinion earlier, the remaining contestants will be both who the judges/public want, and you will minimise this 'bullying' problem. Although i don't agree with the hate Durkin has received, the series is essentially over now as he clearly wont win a public vote. Big fan, keep up the good work. #.

Suggestions for rules for Academy #2:
-You may not enter the competition if you are a direct relation to anyone on the current roster of Hashtag United.
-You may not enter the competition if you have a RUclips channel with more than 10k subscribers.
-You may not enter the competition if you have played for another youth academy past U12.
I would also suggest having more than one "winner." Since some of the boys in the main side are not able to make the trip, it would be good for HU to carry upwards of 40 players. So with the next Academy, maybe allowing the top 3 to go through would be a nice idea. I also recommend doing a bit more of the 11 on 11. It would help show off actual in-game abilities compared to more isolated skills (like pushups).

Did you even watch the video? Spencer admitted it was a mistake. It's their first time doing this, you know. You learn things along the way. Spence said if he ever does another academy series he wouldn't allow youtubers to apply.

I've got to agree with spencer, just imagine he had left the situation and ignored it, and we had two finalists; one of the players brothers, and a youtuber with over 100 k subscribers who spencer already knew was talented. This series is about finding young talent from across the nation. He already knew that Adam Lovett and jemel akeem where talented footballers, so for one of the to one, the series would have been a complete waste of time, as they would have discovered nothing.

Why are People complaining about the fact that Durkin is still in and jemel is out. spenny and the hashtagcrew made this desision and if you are a true fan you should respect it. if durkin wins the series(i'm not saying he should/shouldn't, i just think he's a great lad and a good footballer) you shouldn't hate. I think they reason why jemel went out over durkin was because a big RUclipsr like jemel can be given a "tranfer" to the hashtag squad just like Theo and Charlie. but they can't with durkin because he's a small RUclipsr that they probably didn't even know of. so please stop the hate and watch the series like most fans do or just don't watch and don't even take the time to place a hate comment because it Will take you more time to answer the hate its gonna gett back than spencer needs to read it and not even bother about ur comment.

ridiculous how even after explaining how this is the first time they have done such a series and they may have made a few mistakes, people are still saying "why did you do this? why did you do that?". Pretty sure some people just love to find negative things to moan about rather than looking at all of the positives this series has given to us as viewers and the people who get the opportunity to be involved in something like this. We should be praising Spencer for putting a lot of time and effort into something that gives an opportunity for the fans. Not every youtuber would be willing to do this. It's a show based on opinions so of course there is going to be conflicts in opinions, but the way some of you go over the top with abuse etc is just embarassing.
Spencer you said in this video you've been doing this for years and you know what would happen if Lovatt won it, but this video is barbaric, not only is it gonna make it worse. People now know that it's getting to you and the other people which will encourage these keyboard warriors to carry on. Disabling the comments is stupid it defeats the object of RUclips and only makes you look like the mug. I love this series and love how unique it is, but you have to accept because no one has done it you are gonna get abuse and maybe be a bit tougher on those kids.

Comments section should really chill out. I find it useless to complain after they have posted the video because they can't undo the decisions they have made. Although decisions made were divisive, what we should do is just respect their decisions and learn to compromise. People make mistakes, Spencer and the others are still learning as they make this series, they had never done things like this before, they are providing us with fresh new contents everytime ! It's okay to voice out your opinions/criticisms, but cut them some slack for crying out loud. Anyway, I really enjoy this series Spencer, hope there will be a second season ! Keep it up Spencer :)

I'd have to say fair play for addressing the issue, the main thing I had a problem with (which I was very glad you mentioned) was the idea of not letting people apply if you've no intention of letting them win, be that for YT reasons or a connection to the club.

Good to see you standing by everything Spencer. There have been some issues within this series, but you've learnt from it and thus your future content will be that much better for it. I am aware that I have posted a comment criticising a player who has done well to make it to where he has, but I also stick by my criticisms. I don't believe that what I have said has been out of spite, and I hope that my view (one of thousands) is not taken as spite. Yourself, all the players who have participated, Hashtag United and those associated with this, have made something fantastic and I have enjoyed watching it. Keep up the good work.

I think the opportunities you are giving people is great and the reasoning behind the decisions made is wise and completely reasonable. Sadly rationality is something RUclips doesn't seem to have!! I think the content is great and whoever wins at the end of the day deserves it, I'm personally tempted to apply for the next one after seeing how successful and enjoyable the first academy has been, as always spencer, keep up the great work, and don't forget to # it!

I not fair to have a go a Durkin it's not his fault, its the fault of the people making the decisions the best players are being cut from the process and its wrong if Lovett can't win cause he has a brother then he should have been cut long ago, and if having a background in youtube will get you cut then that should have been said. The players that went out are 2 of the best footballers and personality u had and they got kicked out for reason that haven't even been tested in the trials and that should affect the result or should have been addressed long before the process started.
People are only having a go at Durkin because he cheated in the fitness round which made someone else get kicked off and he never owned up to it

hey Spence just wondering based on what you said... you said you wouldn't allow persons who are RUclipsrs right... but what if you are a RUclipsr that is not established ?
To be honest Spencer has been trapped between a rock and a hard place. I remember on the day of my trial he has all the stuff going on with Palmers and it ruined the day abit, it was elongated by a large amount (which lead to me and a few others gaining cramp etc) of time and I dont believe that spencer paid full attention to everyone playing but thats life and it just spurred me on to try again next time. He cannot please everyone, Adam Lovett and Jemel were excellent footballers and like Spencer said they will probably be wearing a hastag shirt in the near future. I believe in Spencer and I think he will sort this out and give as much justice as he can but the bullying in disgusting, ive gone through the comments and some of the stuff said about Durkin is disgusting and anyone making them are probably just jealous but its also just ruining a otherwise brilliant series that was a great pleasure to be a part in. Everyone just needs to chill out and let time do its work and maybe give constructive critism over hateful bullying.
