Well you can still enjoy a character and still agree shes dogwater in comparison to any other character stat-wise. We shouldn’t be happy with the state Mihoyo released her in and anyone acting like shes fine is on some cope. I love her gameplay and style but theres a line. Cut her cooldowns by half, have her proc hit hit every 1 second, cut her energy recharge requirements and have her work with Yenlan and Xin, have her burst count like normal attacks instead of a single burst, just double her number in general. She shouldn’t be doing less damage than Qiqi, who can at least heal and have better utility.

While I am in the camp of “she needs to be buffed,” I went out of my way to get Dehya and I have an absolute ball playing her. I’ll have to try building her an emblem set! I’m currently playing her with a 4 piece echoes of an offering and the mailed flower - that’s been fun for burgeon teams and keeping her on the field ^-^

Why echoes? It doesn't buff her. Dehya's ult punches aren't considered normal atks, so this set doesn't work. It's like putting 4pc gladiator on a catalyst character

I built my Dehya for physical. Honestly can recommend, her normal attack is great fun.

She has issues, and they should be discussed, but your content's a breath of fresh air man.
Personally I really enjoy Crimson Witch on her. Regardless, I'm just happy to see someone having fun with Deyha in the sea of negativity involving her.
those activation devices is part of the chess puzzle in the new desert area.. you can use them all after compliting the last part of the desert world quest (the one thats avaivble from the crocodaile guy in the camp a day after we finish the jeht quest line there)

I managed to pull Dehya as my first ever 5-star on my alt account and I am super happy to have her, she's really fun to play!
The only issues I've ever had with her was either being Frozen mid-Burst and accidentally cancelling it because of needing to spam Jump to get free or the auto-aim aiming at the wrong enemy and dragging me back to an enemy I'm trying to dash away from mid-Burst

Burgeon explodes the dendro cores, its a x3 multiplier that doesn't crit and its damage is based on character level, talent level and elemental mastery, the exploding cores can hurt you which is why some people avoid it, hyperbloom works on the same basis but doesn't kill you 😂

Well, i did pair my c6 Bennett with Dehya and Mona.
The result is great
for me dehya is good as sub or support. I like using her for fun in my dehya,kokomi,nahida,candice team
I've been having a lot of fun with Dehya when Nahida is on the team.
As a Kazuha main, I’m also having fun running him with Dehya, Kokomi, and C6 Bennett. I got dragged so hard when I told my friends about this team comp. But it works!

Ive been wanting to pull for dehya and you just make me want to do it more, but i dont want to be disappointed and not get a 5 star at all :D
if you already have a strong group for abyss, shes worth it just fun to play, and with enough investment she can easily clear upper floors of abyss in a team but if you dont have a team of more "meta" characters i would hold off. at the very least pulling for her is worth getting the cons for benny, barbara and collei arnt awful either.

With Candace ult, Dehya with bloom set and high EM is perfect with make 20k seeds and 30k burgeon, since hoyo has point us to the direction of building em with new event weapon, and she being Candace's friend, they should definitely in one team

I'm assuming this team relies on Dehya's burst for Pyro application since her skill just isn't fast enough to reliably proc burgeon, but isn't her gonna have energy issues without another pyro in a full EM build? Or is she just gonna proc burgeon with her E and just play bloom with hydro infused normal attacks?

Advantages :
1) She is a fire lioness
2) She saves orphans
3) She is Saitama but Waifu
4) Her voice lines are badass
5) She has car ears
I can go on and on if you want...
Most people are in love with her character. People are not in love however, with how HYV failed her in the gameplay department. Her kit is flashy, but incredibly weak when compared to other units in similar roles. This is where all the Dehya bad discourse is coming from.
To give you the TL;DR of it, she feels incomplete or intentionally poorly designed with some very questionable mechanical decisions made by HYV. Her kit has basically no internal synergy, and her scaling is comically bad for a 5*. She can't really even compare to other standard banner 5* like Keqing and Tighnari in terms of dmg, or Jean and Qiqi in terms of team utility. The situation is pretty bad :(

@@AJ86776 For some. My experience hasn't been so great. It's a pretty bad feeling pre-farming a 4pc EoSF set for her and having her C0R1 with 70/156 ratio, putting a team together with Mona, Kazuha, Bennett and failing to even one rotate a single ruin guard on floor 12. She performs better for me in hyperburgeon teams, but it doesn't feel like she contributes much there. None of her teams have been particularly fun to play for me since she has so little impact on their performance. Combat is the most enjoyable content for me, but Dehya is so undertuned that it just doesn't feel good to play her in her current state.

@@AJ86776 Trying to play her is more like it, and I am trying to find ways to use her because I like her. It's pretty simple really. Characters don't need to be perfectly optimal or even meta for me to use them so long as they can perform decently well. Dehya is in such a sorry state atm tho that It's difficult to find any teams where it feels good to play her. Her dmg is too low to carry and her support capabilities aren't significant enough to warrant placing her in a team over someone who will actually help prop the team up.

There is a degree where players are up in their feelings over making the rubble bounce numbers-wise. Deyha (like any character in this game) has more than enough firepower to clear any content available. So, if you enjoy the character, enjoy how she plays, then you should do so without any shame that you're somehow "encouraging bad decisions" on HoYoVerse's part.
That said, it IS more than a little disappointing that the "darker" characters (which is another discussion) have tended to be significantly lower performing than their peers, and that SHOULD be noted. Even if it isn't intentional.
The game have a soft cap for DPS requirement. After a certain point, excess DPS isn't going to help you obtain more rewards.
Remember this game has no end game so enjoy the game and pull character what you want and ignore those crying whinny idi0ts 😂

Love seeing how you're enjoying Dehya Kage.
But, I have to burst this bubble by saying that Candace and Dehya don't work together sadly. Candace's hydro infusion with her ult doesn't work for Dehya I believe.
But for DPS Dehya you got the right idea of using Emblem. I've learned that Crimson witch can also work rather well.
In the end you do what you want to do however. As you're enjoying it, and thats what matters.
Also you could make a video on its own about doing the whole Aranara questline, and I think that would be entertaining to watch.
Dehya can work with Candace in a Burgeon team though. Emblem Candace with enough ER can rotate her ult & apply AOE hydro as you switch between characters. When paired with your preferred dendro character of choice (Nahida is best here), you could produce a dendro seed per character switch, per enemy.
Dehya on a full EM 4pc gilded dreams set + the mailflower can easily reach 890 base EM, 1100+ EM after causing a reaction (mailflower passive) & reaches up to 1300+ EM with Nahida's burst. For triggering burgeon, her E is best for that since it's a relatively big AOE. After running out of dendro seeds to burgeon with, you can continue switching chara again to trigger Candace's burst's AOE hydro application to get dendro seeds again, and switch back to Dehya again to do her second E to burgeon again.
The downside to this is that after using both E charges, you run out of reliable burgeon triggers and either has to rely on Dehya's burst to trigger burgeon (which you'll be cancelling early since with this build, the actual damage from her burst is just sad) or keep attacking & wait for her E field's AOE pyro application every 2.5s. This, also granted her E field is not on cooldown.
So with any kind of reliable dendro application on the field, the burgeon rotation would be:
Candace Burst (Dendro Seed +1) > Candace E (Dendro Seed +2) > Dehya E #1 (Burgeon #1) > Character Switch (Dendro Seed +3) > Character Switch (Dendro Seed +4) > Dehya E #2 (Burgeon #2)
With Candace burst's hydro infusion, you could also just use Dehya's NA to produce dendro seeds, but it'd take much longer & it won't apply hydro in an AOE.
Damage output for this is surprisingly decent. The burgeon damage per dendro seed is around 28K for 890EM, 31K for 1100 EM and 32K+ for 1300+ EM. So yeah, since enemies can take up to 2 burgeon damage resources within burgeon's ICD, double that amount & you get the total numbers dealt to enemies.

Luckily for me I had enough leftovers from when I farmed emblem sets for Raiden Shogun and Kujou Sara a loooong time ago that worked for Dehya. Trying to get a better feather for her though but the domain keeps giving me mostly Shimenawa pieces :U

I fobbed off on Dehya an R1 Wolf's Gravestone and a spare fully maxed 5-star 4-piece Gladiator artifact set with crit substats and a Pyro-buffing off piece. At Lvl 60 currently she's doing decent work as the main DPS in a Bennett, Xiangling, and Kazuha swirl team.

If you jump during her burst, it cancels
But if you dash jump, it enters kick sequence instead
So the next time you want to make a flashy finish just remember to dash. Seeing Dehya pating the flames off her leg with the victory screen is satisfying
