- In this episode of TFBTV, @JamesReeves is proud to announce the official arrival of the Hi-Point Yeet Cannon 9mm a.k.a. the YC-9. After unveiling the YC-9 to the world at SHOT Show 2019, Hi-Point has taken a painstaking length of time to bring the YC-9 to market. In this video we go over the features and specs, and we send 1,000 rounds of 9mm downrange with the YC-9. Was it worth the wait? Watch today's video to find out.

Owning a decked out Hi-Point is like taking the biggest dump that won’t flush at your in-laws’ bathroom: you are ashamed and proud of it at the same time.
🏆
🇺🇸
I couldn’t say it any better myself.
Perfectly described! 👍🏼
This is absolutely too funny dude. 😅😅😅
😂😂😂🏆🏆🏆🏆
You just won the gun tubes
It's amazing how thin, light, and small they got that micro 9 while offering a full ten round capacity.
This comment is pure GOLD!
The Sarcasm is strong with this one.
Did you see how small the slide is? It's like, even an 18-wheeler engine block is larger!
Customers started asking for double stack magazines and HP delivered in an astounding time frame, far exceeding market expectations!
@@paulis7319 it's amazing how quickly thier engineering team made such substantial improvements
I think there’s something wrong with me. I’ve been up for 22 hours on two hours of sleep and instead of going to bed I’m watching a review on a fucking High Point at 3 in the morning
Hell yeah
Life is good
Having a Yeet Canon video sponsored by Glock is truly the circle of life ✌️🇺🇲
The competitor has an unreliable gun? Even Gaston Glock would smile on it.
They called my Glock ugly. I showed them a Hi-Point. They apologized profusely and offered their very lives in contrition for the error of their ways.
Glock knows how it is, start off with the yeet cannon then graduate to a glock.
Glocks are ugly, Hi Points are ugly. These are problem solvers, aesthetics don't come into play.
Close enough. 159… got’em deader, at least.
Finally James can go to Shot Show and enjoy the show instead of tracking Hi-Point down for his annual appointment about the Yeet Cannon!!
Is that bongo?
James holds a golden Beretta 93r once a year at the Italian museum of the illuminati, and he's somehow still bringing us yeet blaster content from Corn Cob, Ohio or wherever. A truly versatile king.
Cartel got better gold guns than beretta
Made in Mansfield, which happens to have both an old (allegedly) haunted prison and a current large correctional facility, where these are probably assembled.
@@bobdobalina779 It all makes sense now

A Colt costs you your rent, a Glock costs you a car payment, a Hi-Point costs you your dignity.
Dignity must not compromise life. Stupidity must not subdue common sense.
a dead invader costs one 9mm bullet.
Imagine making a car payment.
I already sold that years ago. Hand me the yeet cannon
I lost my dignity decades ago so meh?

I bought a destroyed C9 for $30.00. Sent it to Hipoint and 2 weeks later they sent me a brand new gun. 500 rounds later 0 problems. So I have a new appreciation and a bit shame 😞 in my collection.
Will I buy one of these new "whipping pistol" ? Probably yes because they have YEET etched on them and my standards are already low.
Completely understandable...! 'Yeet cannon' etched on anything would be cool, a firearm just icing on the cake...
They literally embraced meme culture. Can't honestly complain at something fun, budget and that works. It's like an impractical EDC knife that has no reason to be carried but is so cool anyway
For some, it is practical.
Only it didn’t work all that great.
When your suppressor cost 5 times as much as your gun... Hi-Point!
Waiting for them to take over Rebel Silencers!
the last gun where the ATF tax stamp works as intended in 1934 by costing more than your gun...
That is so Hysterical .

It's go time 👍
the gun is cheap so you can afford to deck it out.
@@j.robertsergertson4513The walk of shame at the shooting range: priceless
Comes from factory with optics cut, cz doesn't. I got pick one of these up on principle. They asked the people what they wanted and then delivered. Big ups to High Point.
Walther makes a 4000 dollar pistol without optics cut!
Wow, tough video to make. We know how much you like those guys. Thanks for being honest. Hopefully they figure out the problem and get it fixed.
People rag on Hi-Point a lot but they're an American company that cares about delivering a quality product at an affordable price point. That makes them good guys as far as I'm concerned. People who turn their noses up at them because they aren't as elegantly engineered as a Beretta are missing the point. It's a little upsetting that the YC9 is having troubles, because they're a company I want to see win.
@@SavageGreywolfi turn my nose up on em because they jam way too much regardless how much you care for em. Many many videos backing this up too
Unironically the YC9 genuinely looks pretty cool
It is actually nice to see you rooting for a budget gun. Some of my favorite videos of yours is finding awesomeness in places you least expected it like the Maverick 88. There is a certain joy to buying into something at the basic entry level and it still being functional and relevant decades later. Im not a hi point fan, but i do respect them after seeing so many people make videos that were meant to roast them and they always turned out to be absolute units.
Ah the maverick 88.
I "once" owned one with an extended mag tube.
It had the great look and feel of a lightweight Mossberg type shotgun for that discerning budget friendly firearm collection such as mine.
That is of course, as a comparison, if you thoroughly look forward to and enjoy getting kicked in the shoulder\chest by a mule 8 times in a row.
Personally I'll stick with a slightly too heavy Remington 870 or clone therof.
Pulling for the YC9 and Hi-Point to work out it's bugs and bangs.
@@flatplaneoregon4605 I actually enjoy shooting my maverick 88. I bought mine around 2000 for 110$. It has been through many semi/somewhat annual-bi weekly trap shooting spectaculars. Has served the roll of anti social stick for the home front since shortly after getting it. I believe a shotgun to be the most working class gun there is. Its been a truck gun, it has served as a stunt double for my hunting rifle on days i wouldnt dare take that precision instrument out in…. But a 20 year old 110$ shotgun…. Yep, dont even have to wrap it up. Poor thing has been treated as the red headed stepchild of my arsenal having only been cleaned when the action started feeling gummy, that has been twice. It has never failed me. The recoil is a thing tho. I figured out that after several hundred rounds the recoil will unplug the light from the bulb in an incandescent stream light. Had to swap to led, and im still waiting for the solder on that to bust.
@@frederickjeremy
That is awesome.
I too love shotguns.
I call them the 1st home defense tool that one should never be without.
With my shoulder surgery and pinched neuro damage in my neck, I had to take a step down to 20g.
Which may be the answer for a new lightweight maverick 88 for me.
As my next shotty though, I really want a semi auto and or lever 410 bore.
I'd be fine with a pump of course,.
I haven't looked to see if Mossberg makes a 410 maverick 88.
I think the long gun revolver shotguns are super Kool looking too.

Can you imagine being in customer service at Hi-Point. Would love to hear their voicemails from customers .
Bear in mind Hi Point has maybe the BEST customer service dept. out here...no joke, they make a lot of the 'name' brand gun manufacturers look like pikers...

We’re adding a Hi Point class to our local club Steel Challenge. I can’t wait to get out there are run the new Yeeter.
If you don't put that Yeet Skeeter in an Uncle Mike's nylon holster for the course, you're running it wrong.
Bought a c9 years ago for 75, after watching a torture test on another channel. I still love that gun. It is a budget workhorse with probably the best warranty on anything I’ve ever owned.
Finally! I mean it’s not like I’m going to buy it but still finally!
I would have 5 years ago when they were originally going to release it and it was still a funny meme.
I fucking am, I give a fuck not!😂😂
The best thing about Hi-Point pertains to you-Patronizing the things eases your 90’s frat boy persona.
I'm not ashamed to admit that the new Hi-Point aesthetic is very pleasing to me.
its got that ghetto operator style
If they could just make the slide a tad larger, I would think about buying one.
You should be
I’m digging the suppressor-height slide. Looking forward to whisper yeeting.
Honestly, this is as close as it gets nowadays to a ranged-melee carry combo. It looks like an absolute brick and I love it.
Lol
I want one just so I can mount a switch blade to it as a spring-loaded bayonet.
Guns for show, knives for a pro. 😂
Ok, now James needs to get Hop to do a proper review of the Yeet Cannon. James is so emotional about it that it fogs his mind. Let’s let Hop tell us the real deal about the new Yeet Cannon 😂
They would've sold a lot more if they wouldve released it when they did all of the promoting for it five years ago.
They didn't even have a working magazine at that point....and looks like they still don't
@@Toolness1 it sure looks like it. They should've waited until they were closer to release before they started pushing it hard.
You mean when all they had was a 3d printed concept?
@@InvidiousIgnoramus do you understand that they could've waited to hype the product instead of hyping something that won't exist for another 5 years?
How do you know they would have sold a lot more five years ago? It was just released today. It could be the next big seller in the industry and the price could skyrocket.
Demolition Ranch just made your dreams come true. Yeet cannon with eotech, x300 and can. It cycled for awhile with the eotech on it.
I think it was Paul Harrel that said you should manually rack the slide of a Hi-Point 1000 times (yes... 1000 times) before using it. I wonder if that would have fixed the issue, haha
I could only guess. A crude fluff and buff. The zamak hoarding weirdos at a now defunct(sadly as it was a good gun forum) SNS gun board used to go in to some detail about how to polish various parts of the ring of fire type guns to get them as reliable as it was possible for those cheap guns to get.
I never understood why Hi-Point doesn't just use Glock magazines, since it is proven to be good magazines and lots of people use them!
I am sure that they could get a contract with Shield Arms to use their S15 mags, and make a YC9 that holds 15 rounds of 9mm in a good size grip frame.
Or, do a contract with Magpul and use their 15 round Glock 19 mags.
I hope they succeed because I think their 10MM Hi-Point is a perfect gun for protecting yourself from bears and wolves in the woods when you are hunting and don't have 2K for an expensive 1911.
Black Friday. 10mm 1911 at PSA were $400. But yeah I agree, should take Glock mags and I saw the 10mm hi point for sale at around $160 locally. That there is cheap, might get one at some point.
A glock magazine wouldn't fit the frame, and even if it did, it would cost too much to use. They do a good job making their own mags, so why would they change?
@@Happyfacehotwheels TFB shows that the mags don't work reliably.
What? cost too much to use? Nah, gen 3 glocks are basically open source at this point and mags are everywhere.
PSA now makes 15 round mags for the G43x/48, I am sure that they would be willing to work with Hi-Point to sell their mags.
They would modify the frame for it to work obviously.
They need to come in different colors. Like Tiffany blue, Gucci maroon and gold, etc. Call them tactical fashion.
This honestly could work. Nobody wants to go with the responsibility/dedication/investment of making their expensive gun colorful, but who cares if it's a $200 shit cannon?
Plus, they got plenty of real estate on that giant slide to make cool pattern designs.
I won't lie, I would buy the shit out of the maroon and gold.
And in crack colour and call it "Bidens craNk".
I'm gonna guess that adding color might raise the m.s.r.p. above the yearly income of the "target" audience. ; )
waiting for the 100 dolla bill paint
The first pistol i bought was a hi-point 45. I took a concealed carry class with it and its a good thing the range portion of the test was all at point and pull distances. For $50 used it did what I needed.
A Hi-Point .45 was also my first pistol I bought for myself, and also used it for my CC class. It has never failed to fire or to cycle and I trust it (and my three other HPs) just as much as my Rugers.
@KamenRiderGumo they are also nearly bulletproof and barrel exploding proof... trust me, theres a demoranch video on it.
So many good budget firearms in the market today. Ive never owned a Hi-Point and have no reason to buy one but I too want an American made company like Hi-Point to do well in their space. They would have sold a ton when the hype was going for this! I’m not sure about this one but maybe new shooters and Hi Point fans will pick this up. I’m confused on why they added the grip safety along with the magazine disconnect. Too many safeties on this budget gun in my opinion. It looks better but reliability is king!
Magazine safeties can usually be easily removed
Probably have so many safeties so their lawyers can deny any liability once these things start popping up in evidence lockers.
Just picked my first Hi-Point, 4595 carbine. Only been to camp once with it, but it was a dream. Zero failures after 60-70 rounds of .45ACP. I know, the honeymoon phase just started, but I'm in love. (God help you if you want to break it down. Watch a video and keep the tool it comes with.)
We had fun with the review copy we received. Good video, James.
I'd love to see a long slide variation. The greater length would allow the slide to be considerably slimmer while maintaining the same mass required for blowback operation. - That said, it's likely that their biggest issue with R&D is simply that they are a small shop with basic equipment. Hopefully, they reinvest in themselves enough to do their thing but in new ways with new appeal without introducing a host of issues.
They could do a cyberpunk/retrowave marketing campaign too. Call it the YC9 Throwback lol.
I'm glad they finally released the YC-9 and I'm glad you did an honest review. I'm surprised about the issues. I have several Hi Points and they are quite reliable and accurate. I did have to tweak one magazine (a very simple adjustment) but otherwise no issues. I appreciate guns that are fine works of art, but a cheap reliable gun covers an important segment of the market. Thank you for all the great videos.
Thanks as always for your honest and to the POINT reviews!
I appreciate Hi Point trying to push themselves and get more capacity in the gun. I hope they fix all the issues.
I always check RUclips channels like yours before buying a firearm. Just got the JXP 10. Looking forward to this but I might hold off a year or so to make sure all the bugs are worked out of the Yeet Cannon. Ten rounds ain't great, but it's better than 8.... and last I heard 8 was the magic number for altercations.
“Hi-Point operators wanted modern consciences” YEEETED !
Everyone always talks about how ugly the Yeet Cannon is but me personally I love how it looks and definitely plan on picking one up, I think why I love it so much is that it looks like the blaster pistol used by the Clones is Star Wars I can totally picture someone shooting this while dressed up as Captain Rex
Dude i said the same thing! Its a blaster pistol. 😂😂
The neckbeards at Comic-Con might spazz out if you show up with an actual Yeet Cannon. LMAO
@@alementary4065 who is planning on showing up to Comic-con with this? What I was getting at was that people like Grand Thumb and Brandon the AK guy love doing little opening skits on their videos for firearms
I like how it looks now too. I've seen custom old hi points, where people try to make them look good and they all failed. This new 1 looks decent.
That shoe box with a trigger's ONLY redeeming factor was its reliability. I think the best analogy to adding any upgrades to a Hi-Point is "It's like hanging a chandelier in your outhouse."
Thank you for the honest review. The magazines on my HP JCP had to be tweaked to work reliably too. I hope this is a hit for Hi Point
Just a bit of polishing and clean up that doesnt get done at the factory, helped my old c9s run reliably. They gotta keep it cheap so fit and finish gets delegated to the owner.
It’s kinda funny that the term “YEET” means to throw away. So they actual name of the new hi-point is the “Throw Away Gun 9”. Pretty funny and fitting if you ask me.😂😂😂
I think the idea was the gun would 'yeet' bullets and solve problems. Unfortunately it looks like the gun itself might be the thing getting yeeted when it jams up.

They had an opportunity here to truly bring some of the features of "modern" pistols into their product line. They basically did nothing and are pretending it's revolutionary.
Sounds like a stack and a half magazine not double stack.
Utterly reliable and High Point don't sound like they should be in the same sentence.
This channel has always been supportive of Hi Point. Sorry to hear of the issues with this one.
My brother across the room heard you say "look out glock 19 here comes the yeet cannon" and spit out his drink laughing!!!! 😂😂😂😂😬
Like James, I'm always on high point side hearing that this new model is malfunctioning. Truly breaks my heart hopefully it gets fixed
calling this ugly, is a crime, i think it looks so cool
Nah its hideous and all hipoints kinda suck
I am pulling for this company and their new pistol. The market will decide. Hopefully I can get a CAD person to help me and I will get with you James and crew to see if it can test better.
A buddy of mine has a high point 9mm carbine. Wasn’t bad. Accurate and never malfunctioned for me and never has for him.
Our's runs just fine...most gun snobs (not you) tend to admit the carbines aren't the worst guns out here...
I'm surprised they actually followed through with the Yeet Cannon name.

Frankly, I'm shocked you didn't comment more about the new ("improved"?) grip safety... Or, did I miss something? P.S. Couldn't agree more about their 10mm: the optics mount (Picatinny rail-style) is solid as a rock, mine has been 100% reliable and amazingly accurate!

Same here. I just have to. HAVE TO!
My 4 C-9 Hi-Points are rock solid. After the break in period, they have been my go-to semi-auto pistols. It is sad to hear their updated model is having issues.
Get this man some ramen
I had a Hi Point carbine that ran great. But the thing wouldn’t disassemble because you have to turn a lever down and the friction between the frame and lever was too great. Called and they said a batch had been double coated. That extra layer of finish was all it took. Didn’t affect function on my gun but that’s the type of QC issue that could lead to a bunch of failures to cycle on a different line of products. For the price, I’d stick with Taurus G2c for personal defense (and even then I would recommend saving enough to buy a used Glock 26/43 or SW Shield).
Honestly, I've heard just as many if not more failure stories about the G2C.
@@1stCallipostle I bought a G3c for first firearm. It is very reliable. It cycles everything. 500 or more rounds with just one failure do fire likely due to primer. I just don't like the trigger on it as Chris on Honest Outlaw points out in his G3 Tactical review.
@@1stCallipostleI've got 5000 rds through my g2c with not so much as a hiccup and it's my edc my Glock however has jammed several times with half as much use as the g2c.

WHAT?!? 10 ROUNDS!! We waited this long for 2 BULLETS?!
No iron sights on the side? Wtf
The “Glock perfection” ad at the beginning of the vid was just a way to tell the peasants that are interested in the hipoint video to work harder 😂
I'm with you guys. I have respect for Hi Point offering affordable self defense products. I want them to succeed! I hope they get this ironed and pressed with military creases.
Hi Point c9 was the gun I bought when I turned 21 and it never let me down but it helped me understand what a nice gun and I probably should have kept it because I had it 20 years but I don’t need anything like it but I have actually seen people carry them as a ccw and I couldn’t help smile a little
Anyone who actually carries, not talking sometimes or in the car/house or not today or whatever, who has any kind of firearm on them is doing it correctly, the nature of the firearm is secondary...rule #1 applies...

I want to see hi point succeed. But I’ve not seen this utter reliability you speak of. I think the people that actually own and keep them are too proud to admit they bought a turd, and the people that are honest with themselves and don’t have time to deal with BS get rid of it when it doesn’t run right.
I bought a C9 in 2003. It never gave me any problems, except for surface rust forming on one of the flush-fit magazines [the factory extended magazines never showed this issue].
I will probably buy Hi-Point's 10mm handgun, based on this experience.
Truth 🙏
They have apparently done surprisingly well in a number of torture tests in the past. There are other much more expensive firearms that would more accurately qualify as a turd.
If it seats, it yeets.
Saw a test on a youtube video where 300 rounds of black powder 9mm were ran through a hipoint, and it ran them extremely well. I cant link, so you will have to look it up on youtube!
Amazing i cant wait to throw away my virgin Glock 19 RMR combo for the more practical Yeet Cannon with a Eotech 512
Welp, looks like I be buying one of those to go along with my original Yeet Cannon.
Cheap date and not horrible looking, even with the huge tattoo. But too young and not ready for the real world.
I was a little sad, I'm always pulling for hi-point. They're a scrappy underdog and I like what they're doing.
Ah, FINALLY!
Finally now the performance of the High Point matches with the Price Point... Though I think that usually works the other way around with guns like Kimbers....
I shot a Hi Point .380 that a friend of mine kept in his Golf Cart back in 1995. It fired and shot just fine. I had never heard of Hi-Point before then. Years later in 2012 after I Retired and was working for the FL Park Service, the Managers of FL State Parks all had the Hi-Point Carbines in .45ACP to kill hogs. I shot it a few times and thought it was great... Again, I had only heard of Hi-Point because of my friend's "Golf Cart Gun". I was so impressed with the little Carbine, and the price of it, I went and bought one in 9mm. Then about a year or so later I started seeing all the memes and people talkin trash about Hi-Point. LOL. I had no idea. I still have that carbine and it is still fun to shoot. It spends a lot of time in the bed of my Side X Side. But I will not be buying a Yeet Cannon. I would however buy another Carbine ( in 10mm) if they come out with a double stack mag. and one that isn't all weird like the 25 rnd mag for the current carbine.
I think today too many people are gun snobs, and more concerned about looking cool than anything else. Gotta have the cool new shiny thing that comes out.
Gucci is nice for some folks, but nothin wrong with Dickies for me.
"Almost five years ago" just hurt my soul. Time has just flown since the pandemic.
Now John Wick 5 should have the yet cannon and both 10 mm in one of the movie scenes and he just looks at them after using them and just says Yeahhhhh!
I learned that you gotta run about 100 rds thru them clankers before theyll run smooth enough to misfire 1/20 rds...
Matt at demo ranch proved as much, but i was running their 9mm carbine as well as a cz9 at the time...same outcomes with both...They suck the first 100 rounds, then they break in and loosen up some...

I just shot the 5 guns I've bought over the last 4 years, the Hi-Point CF380 was the only 380 that would shoot the 100gr reloaded ammo I got during covid. It has the least recoil and was the most comfortable in my big hands. The others 380s were a Taurus Spectrum, and Jiminez JA380. It was also nicer to shoot than the Taurus G3C and SCCY CPX2
It's called the "Yeet Cannon" for a reason, when it inevitably malfunctions at the worst time, you just yeet it at your own head for thinking you could depend on a highpoint.
Idc how it performs, i want it because it says "YEET CANNON" etched on it 😂😂
Years ago I had a Hi-Point C9, it had a FTF every fourth round. I polish the barrel, put in better magazine spring, lubricated it, it did not matter. Every forth round jammed. Even with FMJ, JHP and Wad Cutter ammo. Same thing. I traded it in toward a Walther and have never had a Hi-Point since. I would like to see them produce a better gun, but it appears they have not.
"Utterly reliable C9" was a funny start to this one lol
