After about the first 100 rounds being fired with my new YC9, I started having problems ejecting empty rounds about 50% of the time. Also, my YC9 YEET Cannon has a low three-digit serial number. Noticed the firing pin's tip was broken off so I contacted Hi-Point customer service and received within a week a new firing pin and firing pin springs. All of the Hi-Points pistols and rifles use the firing pin also as the ejector. The new replacement firing pin was of a slightly different design. Since replacing the firing pin and firing pin springs, I have had zero problems with firing, extracting, and ejecting any brand or type of 9mm ammunition.
I got the 10mm about 2 weeks ago. I fired it without oiling, 20 rounds of 40sw and 9 rounds of 10mm flatheads before it jammed and kept jamming. I took it home and oiled it and went back later to shoot with no hiccups. Overall, I am pleased with the 10mm. I put a flashlight on it and a red dot, but since the gun is so large, I can't seem to zero the red dot because it sits too high. I only plan to use it for my nightstand gun, or travel in the vehicle gun so I probably don't really need a red dot. Overall, I am pleased that I purchased it because it's 10mm and that is the cheapest a 10mm handgun will ever be. Hi-Point tries to get low-cost firearms not only to those who can't afford to pay for more expensive guns, but also to those who can, but just like to collect, or are intrigued with Hi-Point products such as myself.
I suspect the grip safety reflects on the buyers, with 9mm being the caliber of choice for folks who just want a gun for safety. Perhaps it makes the gun saleable in certain states.
The PSA Dagger($230)and Taurus G2C(about $200) have made the Hi Point irrelevant. Especially the Dagger because it's almost 100% parts compatible with the Glock 19, the locking block and take down pins are the only parts not compatible. I own two Daggers and I swap parts between them and my 19's all the time.
I totally agree with the Taurus - but a $230 PSA Dagger??!?! Where? That ship has sailed. The horse is out the barn and getting OTHER horses pregnant! The lowest cost on the PSA Daggers I found are $300 before tax and transfer.
IDK about Hi Points being irrelevant. Just like you're listing the bottom prices you can find the pistols you just mentioned. In the last 12 months, I purchased two new C9s for $100 each. Put a 50 rds box through the booth of them to make sure they work and put them away as a glove box gun and a give away gun for an emergency. Also, at the prices you can get them for, if you have zero interest in guns, you buy one and just put it away.
9:44 The field strip procedure is the biggest disappointment in the new design (to me). I thought if they were going to improve on the design, that should be the number one on their to do list. Any modern pistol a user intend to use for self/home defense, need to allow for quick, tooless disassembly, add a few drops of lube to the key area then put back together and keep going. Requiring a tool to disassemble is so 1900-ish mentality :)
Hypoint, ugly made functional and affordable. Comes in a box. Cardboard box, sticker attached, plastic sights, unspeakable trigger. Yeet Cannon branded version a collectors item???? Kudos for the mag pinky extension. Fix the feed issue by banging it on a rock cause "Its a highpoint". It runs....

The yeet canon is the greatest pistol ever made, it won every war from ww1 onwards
RIGHT ON

Hi-point YC9 RK.guns 179.00 can't wait to pick it up.
It's $249 in my area, I got chose the C9...
I have 1 it is awesome.
Watching a Hammer Striker review of a Yeet Cannon is like watching a sommelier doing a serious review on box wine
Interesting how the wood grips revalue the look!

Thingmeister wood grips are the best!🙌🏻
I watched this just to hear my guy say "YEET CANNON", worth it.
Bore axis higher than a skyscraper. I totally loved the review though; thanks!
The bore axis isnt that high. There is a lot of slide mass over the barrel.

Still not a .45 on the market for $200 hi point still has its place
You should send your YC9 back for warranty work...they have a good one!

The trade off is that you'll rarely need to disassemble this.
Curious about how many safety features are involved now that there's a grip safety

The Hi-Point C9 has an 8 round magazine.
