THANK YOU! I've been finding ways to reduce my electric bill (turn hot water heater down)..I'm going to boil my water for the thermos in the microwave rather than on stove (small saving but...)..send more tips ....USA PS. loved seeing the happiness of dog too
Thanks, Stanley is king of the flasks. The woods is near a dual carriage way and not far from a motorway, but I walk to the far side, the woods and undulations seem to deaden the noise very well. I do this as you highlighted in a old video about the sad state of UK when even in the woods cars can be heard in the back ground
I find you dont even need the thermos most of the time, if your doin a quick 10 min cook like eggs or pasta just use the one pot, take it off the heat and pop a wool hat around the pot.
What an absolutely fabulous idea, the humble thermos flask👍👍
Is that that an old Casio illuminator? I've still got mine from the 80s, great watch. Going to try this method, thank you.
Gonna use this trick next I'm in the great outdoors! Thanks

I wonder if poached eggs would need less water? That's a way to save on water if possible.
Great! Where did you learn this?
I heard about this on either a US bushcraft or prepper website years ago
Wow❤

Is the water to cold and eggy for a cuppa too? 🤷♂️😂
Quite possible I think
Best with pasta or oats as it absorbs the water .
Thanks for taking the time to share.
Oats is a good call, never tried that before, will give it a go
Wouldn't the eggs explode in the suddenly heated up water?
No.
