  • Eggs boiled in a flask is an efficient way to cook. It uses much less heat energy and will preserve the gas canister.
    It''s also a good back up for in a power outage or grid down scenario.

    THANK YOU! I've been finding ways to reduce my electric bill (turn hot water heater down)..I'm going to boil my water for the thermos in the microwave rather than on stove (small saving but...)..send more tips ....USA PS. loved seeing the happiness of dog too

    have a big Stanley thermos, will be trying this. also sounds very quiet where you are sounds so quiet, very nice.

      Thanks, Stanley is king of the flasks. The woods is near a dual carriage way and not far from a motorway, but I walk to the far side, the woods and undulations seem to deaden the noise very well. I do this as you highlighted in a old video about the sad state of UK when even in the woods cars can be heard in the back ground

    I find you dont even need the thermos most of the time, if your doin a quick 10 min cook like eggs or pasta just use the one pot, take it off the heat and pop a wool hat around the pot.

    I wonder if poached eggs would need less water? That's a way to save on water if possible.

      Best with pasta or oats as it absorbs the water .

    Wouldn't the eggs explode in the suddenly heated up water?
