- I fixed the battery compartment on the sonicwake 36 because the batteries Lipo's dont fit in the battery compartment. I give a very good instructional video on how to fix this problem and get your sonicwake 36 running and secure with the batteries you have.

Arrma infraction straps worked perfectly for me. It has the better Velcro that hooks together everywhere. Wow you put 12s through there holy crap I’m glad you are ok. Change the straps and you’ll be good
Yup it was my very first boat and i didnt really understand much about it but horizon addmitted fault bc the manual didnt specify what the max volts should be so yeah i got lucky bc when that blew up in my face it was like a blow torch. Thanks for the tip.

Compensation should be paid by Horizon Hobby. Boat is not RTR "as advertised"
Australian Consumer Laws are specific, RTR = RTR. Boat is ALMOST RTR Company seems to falsely advertised their product internationally! I'm chasing them...
Yep I have had the same problem I swapped the straps out for better straps that work and I used tape velcro Inbetween the straps it now holds my 6s battery tight and fine ,it works great no matter how many times I roll the boat

@@DronemanJoeRc I used the straps from one of those cheap gopro action cameras it holds my 6s batteries in no problem at all had mine out last night it ran like a dream with everything I have done to it the temperatures were well below 100 degrees c, esc hit 60 motor 62 battery 40 and xt90 connection 83 and that was a flat out run with a fully charged battery I am happy with the results I will put up a video of everything I have done later today if I get chance

A quick fix is to pull the bottom strap up and put the battery under all of them. My wife saved me from getting real frustrated on my first run with this idea. It seemed to keep it in place as well.

Man you are lucky you didn’t start an electrical fire!!It does say not to go over 6s in the instructions and glad to know they are doing good with warranty,Velcro drips on boat and battery’s so you can adjust battery location for different water surfaces.Great boat
I was the same when I tried et a motor that went out on a steathwake that was mis aligned and Lester about the first run.I always check everything on boats now when received.And by the way I still haven’t gotten them to have the motor replaced.

You can even make it easier by putting velcro tape on the battery all you need is some adhesive velcro (hook and loop tape) also replace the flex shaft with a ose upgraded flex shaft because the proboat flex shafts are not well designed they are horribly unbalanced and put lots of stress on the motor because of resistance due to uneven balancing the offshore electric upgraded flex shaft is cheaper then the stock shaft but you will need a new coupler for the new flex shaft as it is a different thickness shaft... it will take you a bit to change it out but it is not hard only slightly difficult and if you need to ask some more questions about it just shoot me a message and I will gladly walk you through it! Also remember to get some dynamite marine grease so you can keep your prop shaft lubed... you want to do this every 2 battery runs or every time you are done at the lake when you get home remove flex shaft and clean off with rag and wipe some fresh grease on the shaft as well as a couple of full squirts up the stinger but put rag between coupler and flex shaft clean of tip of flex shaft as it goes towards the coupler cause you don't want grease inside where it bits down on the flex shaft to keep it in place... there are videos on RUclips on how to do this properly if you didn't understand what I said for any part of that.. Thanks bud I got all the grease and tools to do the maintenance. I do the shaft after 2 pack runs, I got the miss geico 36 but had to send it back bc it wouldnt run right..it would only run in fwd at rev speed and vice verse, I tried everything to get to run but nothing would work, I was on the phone with horizon for 2 hours trying to get right but nothing so I had to send it back and let them fix it. I appreciate your input and thanks again.
I plan on buying the heavy duty flex cable from ose. What coupler do I need to use this. Thanks
I had the same problem with the batteries. Ended up building a custom removable ABS cradle to hold the 3S batteries.
I know what your saying bc they dont fit in there and like I said when it flipped it didnt turn over so I came up with this and it worked. thanks for the comment bud. I will check out your vids also

It certainly has. I have the same boat. Unfortunately I bought a different battery charger 🙄 I'm going to buy the one you have to make my life easier.
I dont like things to be difficult and I just like plug the battery in and let it go and use it. so great that your getting one. If you have any other questions let me know. and thanks bud. and all the controls on it dont worry bc all I set was the discharge time to 48hours and thats it on the charger but you dont even have to do that. I do however keep my battery in a bag and just let the lead out to the charger to keep it safe and you will need a IC3 to IC5 connector thats on horizon hobby for about $10 bucks if that if not you can get one from Tower Hobby and they have them but you will need that to connect to the spektrum battery charger. I would like to see some vids and give you a sub and hope you sub to my channel but once post some stuff I will sub. let me know

I need support, I have a sonickwake so far I have swam without sticking the tape on the flap and you know after turning over the water is inside. yesterday I taped the tape and after 1 turn I would say that the same amount of water was in the middle, where the water gets ?? if the boat does not capsize, there is no water.
Im not exactly sure what you mean. I dont know anything about tape over a flap? Try to explain this better to me. Thank you Joe

Hi there, I ordered this boat. Does it include the jumper link cable for the other battery lead? (Running single 6s)
Its suppose to but mine didnt and they had to send me one.
Could I use a 2 3s 5000mha and 20c battery
You can use a 3s 5000mah but it needs to be atlease 30c min. You wont get much speed out of it but you can. Thanks for watching

Hi going to order one of these boats this weekend and batteries also.
What is the length of the battery compartment? I'm thinking of ordering 6500mah or 8000mah lipos if they will fit. Any advise would be great.
I wouldnt go that high of a mah, mah is really just what I call the gas tank the higher the more run time but I get plenty of run time with my 5000mah and they are just fine for it. I do use 100c for bigger burst. What I use in the video is just fine. thanks for the question.
Any word on if Horizon has resolved the battery tray fitting issue. Looking at purchasing this boat and this is just an inconvenience to fix.
No not that Im aware of so I would suggest following what I put out and it will work to fix it. I think they have alot of issues with there battery compartments and they dont seem to pay much attention to ppl when they give them input back. I had issues with there apprentice sts with safe plus and talked to them to fix the problem but they Iggy me so I posted my own video to demo the gps and landing assist mods they sell and they just dont seem to care but they put out some great products but dont listen to there users. Idk but thanks for watching and I appreciate it my friend.

I'm new to boats, I'm an rc aircraft guy, but can one not use Velcro to change CG like we do in aircraft?
you do use velcro but the batterie cradle is what I believe is a manufacture defect bc when you stick them in and strap them down they dont hold. so I came up with this to fix the problem. I contacted horizon hobby about it but they didnt seem to care. it works for me thats all that matters. thanks for the comment.

So I went for this... lol I'll have to see what's happening in there when I get mine. It'll be my first boat in 20 years so I have little to no clue what you're talking about since it's no in front of me at the moment, but this is all great info for when mine shows up! Have you had any 6s overheating issues? Wondering if should just get the twin cooling rudder now or just see what's happening first...
Nice! I did something similar with kaizen foam. My batteries shifted when I took it out the first time. Boat flipped and didnt self right due to batteries moved and created a counter balance to the ballast. Good thing I had another smaller boat lol. Great video. Sub'd!🤘🤘
Yeah the first time I took it out I couldn't get the batts to sit right and I knew something was wrong and I flipped it and it didnt self right. I was lucky the wind was blowing my way otherwise I would of been going for a swim. everything is great now but I talked with Horizon about this and they said they was going to look into it. who knows. but thanks for the sub and I sub back and will take a look at your vids bud!!
How did you contact Horizon because I can't reach them I sat on hold for 3 hours and emailed them 4 times with no response.
I had the same problem but since I bought the boat threw amazon they contacted them and within a few hours I got a call. what kind of problems are you having with your boat?
Do you guys realize that "if" you run (2) 14.8v 5000 mAh batteries in parallel instead of series...remove the original (Dual Battery Cable/Connector) and replace with a "black to black/red to red" parallel configuration and you will get the power/voltage of a single 14.8v but double up to 10000 mAh or run time...

What length of run time are you getting with the 5amp batteries?
It depends most about 10mins if im running it full throttle.
Just use extra velcro on tray and accu to prevent slipping, like in a rc heli

Yall ever thought about just putting velcro on the battery and the bottom of the boat. I fly jets with to much room and just velcro them down . Just a thought
That won't work bc the cradle is concave.
The battery compartment works just fine stock. I also thought there was something wrong with mine when I first got it and the batteries shifted on me. The straps don't go under the batteries at all. You put the batteries in the compartment side by side if you are using 2x 3a. The straps go over top of the batteries from left to right, then come back through the clasp and go over the top again and velcro down over its self. I havnt had a problem since in 2 years. You don't need to make any shims or anything else to hold them down. Hopefully I have explained this ok. There is a thread on RC Groups on the Sonicwake that maybe explains it better than I did. If you have installed them correctly the straps should be doubled up over the top of the battery/ batteries and you will hardly have any extra strap left.

yeah I use 6s 22.1v 5000mah spektrum 100c smart batteries and I have two but I also use two 3s 22.1v 5000mah spektrum 100c batts also the 100c give a bigger burst of thrust to the boat
Ok cool I use two 3s 11.1v 100c. What’s the difference between the 22.1 and the 11.1v
