We managed to crawl into Waterloo at around 8am Monday morning and jumped straight into a taxi to the All England Club where they were selling tickets for the final. In those days I didn't have a smart phone and there was no wifi onboard!
Bear in mind if you were travelling with suitcases for a longer holiday the train would win by at least 1hr 30 as you need to allow 2 hours at the airport instead of 30mins at Eurostar

I do that central Paris-central London journey quite regularly and considering transports time to Airport/station plus security time, Eurostar is faster than plane.
But with the train, you have the space to stretch out and you have a view to enjoy as you zoom through the Kentish and North France countryside. There's croissants on train too!
I often travel between the 2 cities and hands down the train is better: less onboarding time (45 minutes before departure), you litteraly walk out on arrival, both train stations are easier to access and better connected than both airports, more leg room, no extra cost for luggages and the ticket price is usually similar to an economy seat on a plane
Just now “discovered” your channel...es sit GEIL. I’m actually planning a trip to Europe next May/June and your info was really helpful. Best of luck with your channel! Cheers👊

The secular humanist that wouldn’t have made a difference as the departure time of the plane stays the same. However Jean would have won if not for the delay
Quite a lot of commenters are asking why Heathrow instead of London City or Gatwick: Heathrow simply has 24 flights to Paris CdG a day, while Gatwick has only three per day and London City doesn’t have any flight to or from any of the Paris airports. From Gatwick to Paris CdG, there are about 3 flights a day. The closest flight after 11am is leaving Gatwick at 14:10 and arrives in Paris at 16:30, and those hours spent at Gatwick waiting for departure would’ve made the train an obvious winner. By departure at Heathrow, you can get a flight about every hour, which increases your chances a lot in a “race”.
What was the cost without avios? Plus isn’t avios now British Airways? Separately my wife and I found your channel by accident and really enjoy your content focused on flights! Would love to see some comparison flights to the US. Which is better?... American airline companies or European?
I think it would have been quicker (and cheaper) to take the metro from Gare du Nord, it could have made the difference... anyways I loved the video do thanks for it
I would say the train would be a better option regardless of the time. Less crap at security (no restrictions on bringing liquids/gels/powders/etc on the train as far as I can see from the Eurostar website), a more comfortable journey compared to cramped economy seats on most planes (especially planes on ultra-low-cost airlines that are likely to be a cheaper option than Eurostar) and the stations at both ends are much closer to the city.
Train wins. Train was unfortunate about stop. And very unusual these days for planes to not be delayed in London. A average 30 minutes. So typical trip plane would take 45 minutes longer.

@@cupcakechronicles4551 debatable. Going 300 km/h is also really exciting.
@@GoogleGebruiker going 900km/h with plane mate :D
@@behein5179 don't feel like 900 kph whereas you feel the speed on the train
South central transport enthusiast nah. Plane is more exiting. Sorry
BeHein lol where did you get the 900kph, cruising speeds for the short to medium range narrow body planes are at 500s-600s kph

Good idea and why not do LHR-EWR or LHR-JFK British Airways vs LHR-SNN-JFK British Airways Buckingham Palace to either Empire State Building or Rockefeller Center

Another terrific, fun video guys❗️. Keep up the great content / creativity 😁
B.Marshall thank you!
The train security is more relaxed and one can take a literal truckload without anyone asking
More of this sort of thing please - both very interesting and entertaining.
Thanks! Stay tuned
Makes no sense to fly such a short distance, unless you are connecting from Paris into another flight. I used the Eurostar, and was amazed how stress free and fast the journey was
You guys are the funnest friends! I love it!
You guys crack me up.
Great videos guys 😄
I really love your RUclips channel guys omg
I do that central Paris-central London journey quite regularly and considering transports time to Airport/station plus security time, Eurostar is faster than plane.
But with the train, you have the space to stretch out and you have a view to enjoy as you zoom through the Kentish and North France countryside.
There's croissants on train too!
Also you could drink your 2L Irn bru bottle on the train. wich would been taken away at the Security check of the plane
Tight race 😱
For only 5-10 minutes, not having to deal with Airport Security with the addition of better meal options I’d say the real winner is train travel.
You can only do this in europe. Wow racing from london to paris. U guys seem so casual about it!
You mean I can’t race from London to Paris in Asia? 🤣
Paco Ramirez no because London and Paris are in Europe 😂
You can race from London, Ontario to Paris, Texas in the Americas.
Aymaan Enayetullah It’s seamless to get around Europe by train or plane.
Awesome video mate!
can you do different cards like Amex BA v platinum (different benefits & price)
This channel is coming up with the best content!! So glad I suscribed after your first video 👏😊
All in all, the plane flight went perfectly, which while not unheard of is rare. It sounds like the train should have beaten them by over 30 minutes.
And the plane people cheated by getting a fast pass for security
Just now “discovered” your channel...es sit GEIL. I’m actually planning a trip to Europe next May/June and your info was really helpful. Best of luck with your channel! Cheers👊
Boys this is brilliant! Queen and a Qween!
Love your content!!
The Eurostar would've won if it wasn't for that delay in The Channel Tunnel easily.
I`m American and just fount this site, very nice. Sorta like old school Top Gear without the old guys.
Tip: Next time take a Brompton folding bicycle on the Eurostar. Faster than a taxi at peak times between Gare du Nord and the EiffelTower. If the plane guys took a bike they would have to wait to collect it at baggage reclaim, slowing them down.
Great vid guys... keep racing ;-)
You guys are blowing your US counterparts out of the sky!! Wondering content.
It was entertaining watching you guys!
The plane guy still has to take the train.
ironic
Jawn was on the Victoria line where Nicky and Liam was on
Hi I am just wondering if you can put a local time clock in the corner for challenges like this! Then we can see how you are all going based on time
I love your channel, just found it! I'm from Australia 🙂
THESE GUYS LITERALLY MAKING THEIR OWN AMAZING RACE
I really like your British Accent. Fantastic mate.
"Hey Queenie"..... Jean jumps into shot. I knew it!!!!! 🤭🤭🤭 love the vids guys.
Additionally the train option is also way better for the environment..
wow! lovely videos guys! Greetings from Finland
If the Eurostar wasn’t stuck for that long, Eurostar would Have won
The secular humanist that wouldn’t have made a difference as the departure time of the plane stays the same. However Jean would have won if not for the delay
The secular humanist but it doesn’t really affect the race though. Also what is cattle class lol
@The secular humanist well the plane departure and landing stays the same for everyone. Anyway u waited 5 months to tell me this lol
@@Gabes1321 it still affects the race because if you need to arrive earlier at the airport, that increases the overall door to door journey time
@@grassytramtracks yeah but they started at the same times anyway
Amazing video Brothers keep it up soon you'll be 1!!!!

RUclips Recommendation: PLANE VS TRAIN LONDON TO PARIS
Plain
Plain
Actually I wanted to see but I'd take the train anyday.
Lmao learn to spell guys it’s
“Plane”
If one of you was in a car it would be like top gear love your channel !!
Can you do London-Amsterdam next time?!
Plane will probably win
Maybe that time the plane dudes should have a connection
Now that is battle I wanted someone to do :-) For me, I will still choose the train but thank you for doing this.
I like your videos I can’t wait for you to upload more
Quite a lot of commenters are asking why Heathrow instead of London City or Gatwick: Heathrow simply has 24 flights to Paris CdG a day, while Gatwick has only three per day and London City doesn’t have any flight to or from any of the Paris airports.
I'd like to know the cost comparison too - what was it without avios points?
Remember top gear, I loved those raced, so thankful that someone else is doing it aswell.
Wow now I want to travel!!
U did this vid 2 weeks before I came to London and pattington was super super close to where i stayed
Train wins. Train was unfortunate about stop. And very unusual these days for planes to not be delayed in London. A average 30 minutes. So typical trip plane would take 45 minutes longer.
noctusowl nope, train loses.
Correcting Jean at 3:20 : Also Eurostar Carte Blanche holders can go to the lounge
Why didn't you take the Piccadilly Line from Green Park instead, straight into Heathrow? It would've taken you 40 minutes.
Correction: 1h 40mins. believe me, i do that route a lot!
@@rowansturdy2158 - Me too. It's never taken me more than an hour even from North London.
