This is professional level. He removed the guts at the end of the cleaning.

Pqp
in islam this is murder to do that for animal or fish and islam punish how do that
In USA we are free
I wish that fish slap their face.. that fish still alive so cruel.. atleast make it die first before u cut or fillet the fish.. nowadays human cruel than animal 😭
Excellent! Great job brother! Thanks for sharing
When you cut,it is still live,so hurt
When I was little, a family friend would always give us Fried Gar (cooked like fried Catfish). He would give the cleaned bleached scales to my grandma for free. She would paint them and make earrings and jewelry out of them; then sale them. She would always try to give him a cut from her profit but he never take it. Fond memories of growing up with my grandma and the man who always gave us Gar, Bass, & Catfish after his fishing trips on the Falcon Lake, Zapata, Texas in the 80s.
Gwyst
Such a good memory
Good old days!!!
Wow, that was alot of work. Im sure it taste delicious 😋
We learned from the best . My grandpa taught us how to dress a Gar.
You sir did a fine job.

It was alive bro why didn’t you kill it show some respect it’s just going through a world of pain being skinned
I use to clean my gar like that till I accidentally let the knife go from my hand being slimy. I invested a lil money and bought myself a cheap black and Decker battery operated skill saw. Cuts the gar right down the back in 15 seconds and don't have to do all that Sling Blade whacking bro. Be careful bro but I love your videos. I love gar fishing as much as you and I make my own leaders almost the same as yours. I just caught a 6 ft gar on 7-9-21 in El Campo Texas. Keep the videos coming bro. My buddies and I use to say we were gonna make a Catany belt one day out of the shell strip off the back. Lmao!!!!!
Video??
Excellent. Skinning gar is a lost art. You’re all over it, the only thing I can add is to let loose of your wrist when swinging your big blade taking off the spine plate.
Kinda like swinging a hammer at a 16 penny nail. You’ll get it done with less swings if you let your wrist loosen up a bit.
I have a hard time doing it due to some damage I’ve done to my wrists and elbows.
Pretty cool.... I've made catan in the early 90's... but I forgot some cooking details. Thanks for the video
Wow he made quick work of that! So fast. I'm disappointed with the fact that I'm in Australia, I would love to try some alligator gar. Looks delicious 🤤🤤
Wow! what a huge fish, amazing cleaning technique☺️
That fish was still alive bro. 🥺 . You are wicked

Why clean it while it was still alive?

@@bluegrod hey, shut up man. I’m sure he had his reasons and it is most likely nerves dummy
@@bluegrod the fish was dead nothing alive about it 🤣 did you see it constantly moving around?
@@bluegrod it’s the nervous system of a gar. I bowfish and the gar are moving even after I kill them
I was told the meat taste better if you bleed them first? I love watching your videos which is why I'm subscribed. This one was a little bit hard to watch. I mean I realize when we fish we are exactly killing something for our own gain.... I had flashbacks though of like? I don't remember what it was? Was it Amityville Horror that had that dude peeling his face off in the mirror? Or was it Silence of the Lambs where the dude was peeling the body while it was still alive? I don't remember? But yeah flash backs... Maybe it's cuz the gar is so huge. Not to mention that one was definitely old.... Dude! Meat for days!!! Nice 😋..... Nah I've watched this a couple times. It's totally the Gill plate man it's totally the Gill plate moving that flips your brain inside out... Still can appreciate the work. It's freaking awesome!... But that gar is still breathing. I was specifically watching for reflex twitches. That fish was totally breathing. It's a freaking gar they breathe air. Sucker can stay alive out of the water for more than 24 hours because of that amazing ability. That was definitely a breathing fish... Brutal purely brutal... not only that but at 4:25 he straight-up says "still alive"... LMAO! He's probably having the time of his life reading all this crap!...Kickin video dude💓
Beautiful fish, delicious

Liked the video. Thought the animal would be better dead versus alive. However been check you out a lot. Your presentation is awesome. I like how you seperated the fish and cut the fish when cooking for your family. ( Great for you daughter.) Loved your compassion for her not tto get spicy pieces.I think I would like to do a gar hunt/ fishing trip.
Sorry about the typos
Compassion for his daughter??!! RiiiiighT...WHAT ABOUT SHOWING COMPASSION for one of God's creatures by making sure it was dead before he gutted it?! What a cruel F'ing BUTCHER!
Poor fish 🐟.. it's still alive 😕
Uhh no?
Their brains are so crappy they keep moving after they're dead. Just nerves firing off. Same with any kind of reptile even after you remove the head it will continue moving for quite some time. Chickens too. Hell everything but reptiles definitely do it for a long time and occasionally fish

Very helpful / informative video. One question. Why do you prefer the Buck knife instead of a filet knife.

Why are you filleting the gar alive?
It's an extremely tough creature.
He probably "dispatched" it but many people don't realize or know how tough they are.
They can move/breath for hours in ice after "dispatching".
Tough nervous system!
@@justint.4404 i see nothing wrong with harvesting fish for food, but you can tell this fish was not dispatched properly. now granted i dont know alot about alligator gar. but you can tell just by watching the vid this was fresh an laid on the table an skinned an gutted alive
The gar was definitely still alive. Hence why so much blood came during the skinning process. You won't see that much blood if the heart isn't beating.

The gills were moving, that’s barbaric. Why can’t humanity be more humane to living creatures
@@jasona1821 bro, we eat lots of animals and half of the time, not even because of hunger. Our ancestors did worse than killing them alive. How you bouta say that barbaric 🤦♂️ lots of fishermen do it
@@ahkar0109 I don’t deny that, I’m guilty of eating meat as well. My point is, why is it important to inflict the greatest amount of pain on this creature as it’s final moments of life. Why can’t we be better than that and respect that this animal is giving its life for us and is a living creature worthy of that dignity.
Wow Amazing😮😮
