    I was really hoping they would head to the studio to put together an album to include tracks like Meltdown, The Errors, and perhaps some others. That could have opened the door for Adrian to rejoin, which would have made it the ultimate lineup!

    This suite along with The Errors, Suitable Grounds For The Blues, Devil Dogs of Tessellation Row, The Hell Hounds of Krim and a few other new tunes would make for a nice final studio album... just sayin'.

    Gentlemen,
    In my humble opinion you are the best band presently.
    UNFORTUNATELY you decided to perform in the US preferably.
    Would be nice to have the opportunity to see you in Europe soon.

    It sounds very rehearsed, not spontaneous anywhere. But I guess with music of such complexity you can't play it otherwise.

      Yes, King Crimson "improvisation" has often had a very "just exactly how much of this did you work out in advance actually" to it. And perhaps this is for the best. The grotesque, stupid, and boring "free jazz" of Moonchild is a mistake never to be repeated.

      @@talastra I haven't listened to ProjeKct X enough (aside from the last track on TCOL). However, I love the ProjeKcts, especially ProjeKct 1 & 4. P2 & P3 are killer, but seem a bit less distinct or ambitious than P1 and P4.

    • @talastra
      @talastra Год назад +1

      @@exeromusic I find, on P2, that swapping out Belew for drums is too much of a loss of his particular madness on guitar, and he's certainly nowhere Bruford's (or Mastoletto's) drumming-interest. I do really like P1, but it seems "small form" compared to the "songs" on P4. Or, maybe another way to say that is, nothing on P1 makes me want to listen to it as much as "Hindu Fizz."
      What I find intriguing about Masque (P3) is that it seems to be one long "suite". It hangs together very nicely for me as a sequence, which isn't as much the case for P1, but I should probably re-listen to P1 again.
      But lastly, PX is the onee I most frequently listen to. It is "studio rehearsals" but gloriously sonic and heavy in places. It has intercut performer chatter, which reminds me of Fripp's Exposure, and just lots of crunchy grooves. "Heaven and Hell" is probably the least favorite track for me.
      I think the collection is akin tot he Urbana-Champaign sessions, except that those were badly recorded and uninspired. But they were intended as an experimental crucible. PX does that as well, except the noises and grooves made are delicious to me.
