Jeremy, I enjoyed this whole video, however, Woolie, and I are both so grateful that you did not stick to your tried and true cake recipe, but used gluten-free flour instead. Later, seeing Woolie go after the leftover gluten-free Oreo crumbles from the ice cream cake made my day! Thank you!

Our wfpb frosting is a block or 2 of silken tofu drained in a jelly bag overnight mixed with a flavoring. For me it’s pb and maple syrup, for the kids it’s cocoa powder and maple syrup and for hubby it’s black cherries.

😭 the footage of the kids at the beginning is so cute! Also yay Capricorn power 😂 Happy Birthday!! Myself I love having indulgent Chinese takeout food on my birthday (tofu and veg ho fun with all the chili crisp I can take! Not wf but definitely pb) and I also love pancakes for a bd breakfast!
[edit: this is reminding me of my dad growing up and one year was really bad and we couldn’t afford a cake- but dad came home with a jr whopper and a candle in it and it was the absolute best thing ever. When Burger King finally got the vegan whopper a few years ago, dad took me to get one and we laughed the whole time reminiscing!]

Hi Jeremy, I enjoyed your birthday video very much! My favorite August birthday dessert is ice cream cake. It’s a layered 9x13 casserole of gluten free Oreos (due to my daughter having celiac disease) and So Delicious ice cream. First layer is Oreos, 2nd is a layer of ice cream, repeat that, then top with chocolate syrup and then sprinkles. I can’t stop eating it. I love a good restaurant veggie pizza (no cheese), or veggie sushi for my birthday meal. I’m so fortunate that I have 2 great restaurants for veggie pizza in my town. Next year I want to have a layered ice cream sandwich dessert. Trader Joe’s has a vegan ice cream sandwich. I will put layers of that with something in between, maybe a layer of dark cherries, like you did. Then, chocolate syrup and sprinkles on top. I have had it with regular ice cream sandwiches and it’s absolutely delicious! Yum!!!

For chili, use your recipe and add the vegan version of pork and beans in the same amount in place of the kidney beans. My Grandma's version. So good.

I like to use 1/2 TVP and !/2 bulgar (to give more of a 'chew' texture), and one of refried beans. Makes a thick chewy chilli.

On about day 4 of a PBWF trial and generally have been trying meatless Mondays / multiple days for years. At first the kids weren’t into it but they’re adapting and each kid-pleasing plant based meal I find is like unlocking the next level in a parenting game. Appreciate you!

@@pbwithjeremy so far…lentil taquitos, baked potato bars, pasta bars. Lots of requests for “real cheese” still but thanks to the magic of coconut yogurt they are now ok with dairy free sour cream:) I’m excited to learn more whole foods pb recipes as my previous attempts at meatless family meals often included expensive processed fake meats that the kids didn’t like anyways. I’m saving money now!

I recently made her Thin Mint cake, and my mom (who has never been into the wfpb desserts I've made) had 2 helpings of it. She also makes a German Chocolate and Oreo cookie variation. It is something that has no right being so good, while also being healthy.

Hi from Kristi in MA, USA. Love your videos. We made your taco soup and it was a huge hit and so simple! Thank you! Birthday meals are often pizza followed by cake. We try to keep things wfpb, but when it comes to cake, we usually have the “sad” cake, unfortunately. #babysteps

That was fun, Jeremy! Those chocolate chip pancakes look 🤤! I’ve made ice cream cake many times with GF Oreo type cookies. We put fudge topping from Trader Joe's on top with sprinkles. Just thinking for the frosting substitute… how about using a chocolate mousse like the one Jane & Ann Esselstyn make with silken tofu, melted dark chocolate chips & maple syrup? And if it needs to be vanilla add white chocolate chip instead…😊

Whatever french fries are on Annie's plates are her favs. We're in Toronto. Probably her fav fries are at a place called Burger's Priest.
That cheese sauce looks amazing! What do you think it would taste like if I left out the tahini? Trying to avoid nuts and seeds. If I leave out the tahini, would you recommend reducing or increasing any of the other ingredients?
The tahini is going to give it the fatty flavour - so you might want to add in some silken tofu or maybe some ripe avocado - I've never tried it but that would be my first swap if I had to.
