    My only change is on the inside I would have done half inch by 1" because I've used half by half and it becomes a shit covered mess if it gets plugged up

      We didn't really find that they made that much mess in that area. But I know what you mean.

    How many rabbits do you run in your tractor? Thanks so much for sharing.

    Is there were on the bottom as well? If so, what type. I would think that's primarily so they don't dig out.

    What are the dimensions of all the material. I'd like to try and make this tractor. I just recently got rabbits.

    Why did you cut out the larger squares on the bottom of the cage? For grass to come thru or feces to fall thru?

    • @mhendrix86
      @mhendrix86 2 года назад

      Well, it serves both purposes but mainly for the grass to come through. - Mrs. Red Beard

    Just curious, but those tee junctions look like storm water junctions which I believe are 88 degrees instead of 90 degrees. Is that right?

    • @zekiah2
      @zekiah2 2 месяца назад

      Glue joints have wiggle room and pvc is bendable
      2 degrees will not stop you

    I understand wood rot is a pain. But I have a feeling though that the PVC pipe will get brittle in the sun and weather and likely fall apart as fast as wood rots.

    • @redbeardcustomworks8764

      We went with PVC for several reasons. We wanted the tractor to be light enough for my wife and daughter to move it. PVC also made the project cheaper than wood at the time.

      @@redbeardcustomworks8764 I'd love some sort of follow-up to let us know how the PVC handled the weather. I'm really interested to see if this is a viable option.

      ABS black plastic is UV resistant as well as the gray electrical PVC. White PVC will get brittle after about 20 years of direct sunlight. I am 50 years old so I’m probably going to want something else when I’m 70 anyway. Maybe I build another one and then quit using it when I turn 90.

      @redbeardcustomworks8764  3 года назад +1

      We’ve had rabbits crew on a plastic water dish but they didn’t chew on the pvc in this. And this is a grow out pen, so they are all about the fresh grass and food. If you don’t move it around often enough they might chew on it but that was never our experience.

    Good video but the music loop has got to go. I would rather hear silence than that nonsense I V I progression; Killing me man. I watch a lot of DIY videos so I am trying to be constructive and give you some feedback to improve your videos. It looks like you got a good thing going on, I will be back.

      @@geocline missed my point entirely
      This thing won't last six months unless you wrap or paint that PVC. It won't last more than a couple years even if you wrap the PVC. I would use top rail or greenhouse channel lock because it will last a lifetime. The greenhouse material is light and not too expensive. It will pay for itself and continue to work long after that PVC is dust.
