    I would just add outside hooks to each corner and in the middle to strap it down for hurricane/tropical storm weather since it’s so light. But this would be so much easier to move by myself and able to build on a larger scale for a small rabbit colony.

    Kill the catfish before you start skinning it. The best way to skin a catfish is to nail it, through the head, to a tree or fence post. (Keep a few appropriately sized nails in your kit.) Cut around it below the head, just as you just did. Then, use a traditional pair of pliers to pull off the skin. (They have a better grip on the skin.) Cut the body off the head. Then remove the head from the post. For smaller catfish, after cleaning, I prefer to leave them whole or cut in half lengthwise. One side is a fillet and the other side has the backbone. Then, leaving the bones in place, cut into quarters, if needed. There's a lot of waste when just cutting the fillets from fish and tossing everything else. For smaller fish I don't cut off the fins or tail. Fried right, they are crispy, tasteful bits worth munching. To each his own. I know people who refuse to each any fish with bones in it. It's too much trouble to pick out the bones. It's not for me. I enjoy every morsel of well prepared pan fried fish. Finger licking good!

    Sorry to bother you again. A couple more questions: 1. What gauge 1” tubing for the legs did you use? 2. What gauge angle iron did you use for the slats? 3. Can you describe what the top legs rested on when the top bunk is down for use. We are getting the materials ASAP . Thanks so much!

    I understand wood rot is a pain. But I have a feeling though that the PVC pipe will get brittle in the sun and weather and likely fall apart as fast as wood rots.

    • @redbeardcustomworks8764
      @redbeardcustomworks8764 3 года назад

      We went with PVC for several reasons. We wanted the tractor to be light enough for my wife and daughter to move it. PVC also made the project cheaper than wood at the time.

    • @AgentGross
      @AgentGross 2 года назад

      @@redbeardcustomworks8764 I'd love some sort of follow-up to let us know how the PVC handled the weather. I'm really interested to see if this is a viable option.

      ABS black plastic is UV resistant as well as the gray electrical PVC. White PVC will get brittle after about 20 years of direct sunlight. I am 50 years old so I’m probably going to want something else when I’m 70 anyway. Maybe I build another one and then quit using it when I turn 90.

    • @makinghay
      @makinghay 3 года назад

      @@geocline missed my point entirely This thing won't last six months unless you wrap or paint that PVC. It won't last more than a couple years even if you wrap the PVC. I would use top rail or greenhouse channel lock because it will last a lifetime. The greenhouse material is light and not too expensive. It will pay for itself and continue to work long after that PVC is dust.
