As a very tall person myself, I understand that this can make you stand out from the crowd. But you still have to have the talent to back it up. There are lot of small women singers out there with insane charisma, like Tatiana from Jinjer and Alyssa from Arch Enemy (and their former singer who retired to become their manager, Angela Gossow). And my favourite male metal/rock singer is Dio, who was short but exuded charisma from every pore. Height is not important. It is just a matter of having "tall" genes from your parents, plus proper nutrition.

Beste Zangers is a show where a group of diverse singers get together and perform for each other. Each episode one singer is "on the couch", in this case it is the lady in the red sparkly outfit. Then each of the other singers either sing a song that the person on the couch performs or a song they like. At the end of the episode the singer on the couch picks out their favorite. There is no winner.
It's like the german show "Sing meinen Song", there as here not really a competition (although one performance will be chosen as the Winner of the evening), but more a show of appreciation for the others. The woman in red (Emma Heesters) is a RUclips cover artist, and Floor did this cover of a cover for her. She was not that well known in her home county until this show run on dutch television. So, Floor sang that for Emma Heesters. You should hear Emma sing Floor's song "Strong" as a tribute to Floor. A very personal song Floor wrote to honor her mother ,who hid from her children, the physical pain she had to endure every day. The lady you joked about being jealous is Samantha Steenwijk, she was/is in absolute awe of Floor and tried to learn as much as possible from her. As you said in an other reaction, Floor is a vocal actor. So there are not many songs especially for her. 'Yours is an empty Hope' and 'Shoemaker' are songs hard to imagine with other singers. Shoemaker is such a challenging song that Tuomas Holopainen felt it couldn't be performed live. I can only imagine YIAEH with Alissa White Gluz.
Floor is the best female vocalist I have ever had the pleasure of listening to music! And I am 64 years old! As for Floors height....6'1" or about 1.86 meters tall! Two of my brother's are the same height. Me...I am 6'6" or 1.98 meters tall. When I am wearing my Cowboy boots, I am from Texas you know....I Am about 6'8" or 2.05 meters tall! She is more interested in making the song the best rather than pumping her ego. On her own channel she takes suggestions in the comment section to heart and will use them for a better experience.
Beste Zangers is another rabbit hole you can explore. This season with these singers was excellent. Floor was kind an unknown in the Netherlands prior to this show. She became a Dutch star after this. haha.
Lovely reaction Bisscute! Floor is really quite amazing and can sing just about anything. Her performances in this show are really wonderful. The Beste Zangers format is really quite unique - it is in no way a competition, but rather an opportunity for several singers to perform songs a little out of their comfort zone for other singers. Seven singers from different genres spend some time together at a resort - Ibiza I believe for this season - getting to know each other. Then each episode, one of the artists is on the couch while each of the others perform a song that is a song that the artist has sung/written or is of some special meaning to the them. At the end of all the performances, the singer on the couch is asked which performance moved them the most - not necessarily the best performance - but there is no "winner" as such, no prizes, etc. Floor did blow everybody away with her performances, but some of the other performances from the show by the others are worth watching as well - especially the ones performed for Floor. The final show of the season is when the artists perform duets with each other - everyone gets to ask somebody else to perform one with them. Floor asked Henk Poort (the older gentleman you see at the end of this performance) who is an Opera and Musical Theatre singer. He has a wonderful voice and had performed the lead role of the Dutch "Phantom of the Opera". Floor is a huge fan of his, so this was very special for her. Their duet is a must see!! BTW the woman you commented on being jealous of Floor is Samantha Steenwijk, a Dutch folk singer who was far from jealous. She and Floor became very good friends during the show, and you really must watch the performances they did for each other - they are very emotional!

A "just Floor" song written for her is Nightwish - How's The Heart Acoustic (Planet Rock acoustic session) In this version she is only accompanied by Troy (the guy with the flute) on guitar. It was part of the promotional tour for the current album. The studio version is with the whole band. At the current performances they have played both versions. And she can't be tall. In her last talk video there were photos with a musician where she is a head shorter. Ok, the guy is over 2m tall. There she also reveals her own size.

I dont think Samantha was jealous she is actually getting emotional by scratching her nose. She was one of the biggest supporters of Floor during this show. She may have a stern look but dont let that fool you.
At the risk of being redundant: - Without her high heels Floor is 1.83m (or 6ft for those who failed to implement the metric system). - On the final episode of the season she does this song as a duet with Tim Akkermans (in the white & green shirt) For me that one is even better, but others disagree. ;-) - On the other episodes she does all kinds of music, German opera, a Spanish song, the Phantom of the Opera, a Dutch song....all good. - In most countries on the radio metal is considered not to be main stream: target audience is 13-18 year old teenagers...based on the outdated concept that if advertisers win a teenagers heart, they have a customer for life. Also the songs are too long, they prefer 2 to 3 minute songs which are easier to schedule. Until this show hardly anyone in the Netherlands knew Netherlands best selling (and greatest) singer. (FYI Floor is from the Netherlands, Troy is British, but originally the entire band is Finnish)

She often wears 4-inch heels on stage so appears even more commanding - but has mentioned that the high heels, and resulting foot ache, will become a thing of the past. She just posted an image of her with Arjen Anthony Lucassen a composer/musician who makes progressive extravaganzas and whose work you will encounter if you continue down the Floor rabbit hole. He is 2.03 metres (6'8"), so with no other context, he makes Floor appear to be a more average height for a woman. Floor is approximately six feet tall but I have also read that she is 6ft 1in. This season of Beste Zangers (Season Twelve) was AMAZING! The older gentleman there, Henk Poort, is one of Floor's influences; she saw him perform as the Phanotm of the Opera when she was something like twelve years old, and it's one of a few things that got her interested in performing. She JUMPED at the chance to be in the show when she found out he was going to be in it. Floor opened the first episode and set the bar REALLY HIGH for everybody there for the entire season (eight episodes). She sang a song in German, one of Henk's favorite songs that his mother sang to him when he was young, Vilja Lied. But, PLEASE check out ALL of Season Twelve, everybody in that room is AWESOME and deserved to be there! Luv ya!

She is currently releasing the recording of her solo show she performed in September in Amsterdam. She release a song each week on her YT channel. In the show she sings songs of her entire career, her bands After Forever, ReVamp and Nightwish, her hard rock side project Northward and also all the Beste Zangers songs and some cover she did during the covid lockdown. All metal songs in this show are arranged in a more rock style for her Dutch fans who knew her in the Beste Zangers show.

Beste Zangers is a show where a group of diverse singers get together and perform for each other. Each episode one singer is "on the couch", in this case it is the lady in the red sparkly outfit. Then each of the other singers either sing a song that the person on the couch performs or a song they like. At the end of the episode the singer on the couch picks out their favorite. There is no winner.
It's like the german show "Sing meinen Song", there as here not really a competition (although one performance will be chosen as the Winner of the evening), but more a show of appreciation for the others. The woman in red (Emma Heesters) is a RUclips cover artist, and Floor did this cover of a cover for her.
She was not that well known in her home county until this show run on dutch television.

A very personal song Floor wrote to honor her mother ,who hid from her children, the physical pain she had to endure every day. She has fantastic covers on her RUclips channel. I also highly recommend How’s the Heart, Planet Rock acoustic. It is a Nightwish song, but it is very stripped down, just Floor and Troy. You get Nightwish and a focus on Floor’s vocals at the same time. It is phenomenal.

Floor sang the first song of the show, she sang Vilja Lied (opera) for Henk Poort. Nobody knew what to expect, because she was “just a metal singer”… During the song, everyone was just 🤯🥺

Floor attended the then new Rock Academy in 1999 and graduated in 2003. She also studied 2 years at the Conservatory (1 year Music Theatre and 1 year Opera). Besides managing a band on her own she also did a lot of vocal coaching and as she is a perfectionist, she wants to do everything at 100%+. Eventually she had to pay the price and got a burnout. She had just recovered when end of september 2012 the call came from Nightwish to fill in for the remainder of the North American Tour at first as their second singer Annette got ill. Floor joined Nightwish after the iconic Wacken concert as permanent member of the band. The lady you joked about being jealous is Samantha Steenwijk, she was/is in absolute awe of Floor and tried to learn as much as possible from her. (but often just forgot about it and went into "OMG-mode" hehehe)
Every singer there was and is in awe with Floor, the young blonde girl is Emma Heesters, Floor sang this for her and as you could see.. Emma was loving every second of it.

Floor is 183 cm tall. That converts to exactly 6 foot.
As you said in an other reaction, Floor is a vocal actor. So there are not many songs especially for her. 'Yours is an empty Hope' and 'Shoemaker' are songs hard to imagine with other singers.
Shoemaker is such a challenging song that Tuomas Holopainen felt it couldn't be performed live.

As for Floors height....6'1" or about 1.86 meters tall! Two of my brother's are the same height. Me...I am 6'6" or 1.98 meters tall. When I am wearing my Cowboy boots, I am from Texas you know....I Am about 6'8" or 2.05 meters tall! I have a cousin that is almost 7' tall! He calls me "Shorty" 😂😂😂😂

@@marcch72 Another aspect that makes her great is the ability to take others input and incorporate it into her performance. She is more interested in making the song the best rather than pumping her ego. On her own channel she takes suggestions in the comment section to heart and will use them for a better experience.

Beste Zangers is another rabbit hole you can explore. This season with these singers was excellent. Floor was kind an unknown in the Netherlands prior to this show. She became a Dutch star after this. haha.
Lovely reaction Bisscute! Floor is really quite amazing and can sing just about anything. Her performances in this show are really wonderful. The Beste Zangers format is really quite unique - it is in no way a competition, but rather an opportunity for several singers to perform songs a little out of their comfort zone for other singers. Seven singers from different genres spend some time together at a resort - Ibiza I believe for this season - getting to know each other. Then each episode, one of the artists is on the couch while each of the others perform a song that is a song that the artist has sung/written or is of some special meaning to the them. At the end of all the performances, the singer on the couch is asked which performance moved them the most - not necessarily the best performance - but there is no "winner" as such, no prizes, etc. Floor did blow everybody away with her performances, but some of the other performances from the show by the others are worth watching as well - especially the ones performed for Floor. The final show of the season is when the artists perform duets with each other - everyone gets to ask somebody else to perform one with them. Floor asked Henk Poort (the older gentleman you see at the end of this performance) who is an Opera and Musical Theatre singer. He has a wonderful voice and had performed the lead role of the Dutch "Phantom of the Opera". Floor is a huge fan of his, so this was very special for her. Their duet is a must see!!
BTW the woman you commented on being jealous of Floor is Samantha Steenwijk, a Dutch folk singer who was far from jealous. She and Floor became very good friends during the show, and you really must watch the performances they did for each other - they are very emotional!

I dont think Samantha was jealous she is actually getting emotional by scratching her nose. She was one of the biggest supporters of Floor during this show. She may have a stern look but dont let that fool you.

At the risk of being redundant:
- Without her high heels Floor is 1.83m (or 6ft for those who failed to implement the metric system).
- On the final episode of the season she does this song as a duet with Tim Akkermans (in the white & green shirt) For me that one is even better, but others disagree. ;-)
- On the other episodes she does all kinds of music, German opera, a Spanish song, the Phantom of the Opera, a Dutch song....all good.
- In most countries on the radio metal is considered not to be main stream: target audience is 13-18 year old teenagers...based on the outdated concept that if advertisers win a teenagers heart, they have a customer for life. Also the songs are too long, they prefer 2 to 3 minute songs which are easier to schedule. Until this show hardly anyone in the Netherlands knew Netherlands best selling (and greatest) singer. (FYI Floor is from the Netherlands, Troy is British, but originally the entire band is Finnish)

She is 1.83 metres or 6ft exactly in old money. She often wears 4-inch heels on stage so appears even more commanding - but has mentioned that the high heels, and resulting foot ache, will become a thing of the past. She just posted an image of her with Arjen Anthony Lucassen a composer/musician who makes progressive extravaganzas and whose work you will encounter if you continue down the Floor rabbit hole. He is 2.03 metres (6'8"), so with no other context, he makes Floor appear to be a more average height for a woman.

This season of Beste Zangers (Season Twelve) was AMAZING! The older gentleman there, Henk Poort, is one of Floor's influences; she saw him perform as the Phanotm of the Opera when she was something like twelve years old, and it's one of a few things that got her interested in performing. She JUMPED at the chance to be in the show when she found out he was going to be in it. Floor opened the first episode and set the bar REALLY HIGH for everybody there for the entire season (eight episodes). She sang a song in German, one of Henk's favorite songs that his mother sang to him when he was young, Vilja Lied. But, PLEASE check out ALL of Season Twelve, everybody in that room is AWESOME and deserved to be there!
