Me too. It may sound weird but this song makes me think about my dad. He was in the military and away for most of my life. He was always like an enigma a celebrity in my life. And then when he retired and we got to have him around his ptsd took over and he committed suicide. I loved him and I missed him even when he was alive. All the time we lost haunts me. All the love we could have given him may have saved him. It's a painful journey. I'm sorry for your loss of your beautiful wife xxx

Amy Lee is a BEAST on vocals, up their with the elite frontmen on legendary rock groups. There’s a reason Fallen is certified PLATINUM IN EVEEY COUNTRY they released it in. RESPECT!!! 🖤✊🏽

I just saw Evanescence last weekend at Rocklahoma, 2022. I have been listening to their music since 2003, and just last weekend, I finally got to see Amy on stage. She sang this song and a few others I knew extremely well. I can't describe how sobering of a feeling it was to see her live after only being able to hear her voice for almost 20 years. When I saw her, I couldn't move. One of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard was standing right in front of me. Her voice has literally sung me to sleep before. I always say keep it metal, but seeing Evanescence in concert gave me a brand new meaning to that phrase. It lets me know that things be okay from now on. I was uncertain of a lot of things and have been my entire life, but seeing her live helped me find solace in the eye of the storm that has been ravaging me since the day I was born. I'm glad you also enjoyed this song. Keep it metal, Bisscute. \m/

No, she's not considered underrated. She had, and has, a strong career with famous and successful artists. But she truly is incredibly good.
Amy Lee is a classically trained pianist. Also she is a trained opera singer which is why her voice is so powerful and stunning. She writes all her own lyrics and makes her own stage/video outfits.

The video is as epic as the song. Both Amy and Ben play their roles amazingly.... Amy is the "ghost", the one who died, and Ben the broken hearted guy who just lost his woman, but he loves her so much he can't let her go, so she is earthbound... forever wondering... notice how her feet never touch the ground...?
I believe she's the one who has died and the man in the video is the one who is haunted by her. In the opening, she says "I'm so tired of being here, suppressed by all of my childish fears", which makes me think mental health issues and suicide. She's in white like a ghost, never touches the ground, and has those wraps around her wrists. The man is in black, and clearly looks distraught and lost at the piano and when he's walking down the street like he is just wandering aimlessly after a funeral. So emotional and haunting. Wow. Love and cherish those around you with all that you can. Our time here together is finite.

I've listened to this song and many others by Evanescence since they were released. Amy is a vocalist on another plane. Her range and crystal clear vocals are just mesmerizing. Not too shabby of a songwriter either! She can wring emotion from every word of a song.
This song still hits me hard every single time I had it. It is such an emotional song, so beautifully sung, very powerful, great instrumentals, an absolute classic.

I can't say I have one favorite song by Evanescence, but for me her voice in " the end of the dream" from the album "Synthesis" - as well as the music and lyrics- is hauntingly glorious and majestic!!!

I grew up strictly listening "black" music , R&B , rap, Motown. This was the first cross genre song that made me open up to other types of music. Such a powerful song
What a beautiful reaction to this amazing song from the early 2000's (I believe). Amy Lee is one of the greatest female singer/songwriter/performers of this and many other generations and there are so many other brilliant songs of hers (and Evanescence's) to react to and be absolutely blown away. 'Bring Me To Life'...'Call Me When You're Sober'....'Going Under'...'My Heart Is Broken'.... and my own personal favourite, 'Lost In Paradise (acoustic or 'session' version) and please share your love with us again through Amy's musical genius. I still cry my eyes out when I hear this song. It reminds me of the day when my Beloved Maternal Grandmother died from the Coronavirus (28th January 2021). I came home that night (finished work early) and was greeted by my sister saying " It's not going to be a single funeral now, it's going to be a joint-funeral- Nana has died". I cried for days, I wouldn't eat and didn't want to sleep. I lost both my Maternal Grandparents in the same week. Rest In Peace Grandfather Leslie and Grandmother Irene xxxx I miss you so much
