@@portlandsamber Family, friends, love, loss, etc. The elderly have lived long lives filled with stories and life lessons, it would do you good to take the time to talk to them. One day you will be old with many stories and advice you want to share, I hope the youngins and people around you don't share the same ideals
@@zacharyholloway8061 Lol. I live in a predominantly retirement community with boomers from all over who decide to retire here. They are so lost. They had such a paint-by-number life that they can't think for themselves. They lived in a time where you could get any small job, make excellent wages, have union protections, lifelong pensions, and are the 1st generation to fully utilize Social Security.
Yet all they do is complain about how it's not enough. They call it "fixed income" even though they get a 2% raise every year for cost of living. Do you?
Not to mention they ruined the housing market.
And family? They have record numbers divorces. They were lazy hands off parents that created an entire generation of deadbeats. They ruined generational wealth and assets so they could have all the money to themselves rather than pass things on to their families like they received from their parents.
And now they have ruined the news, and the Internet, and politics, and have let monopolies get totally out of control.
They sold our health for the convenience of plastic and ready-to-make meals.
No wonder they want to go back to the good ole days. They didn't need credit scores. They got minimum wage raises every year in the 70s and could literally legally rob people in the 80s & 90s. They didn't have constant traffic.They worked 8 hour shifts with paid lunches. No salaries. No independent contractors.
They had it SO EASY.
Yet they call us lazy and entitled for wanting just a few of those things too.
But keep sipping the prune juice. 🧃

When I worked home theater sales in retail, old people came in so much just to talk and never buy anything. A little annoying at first because it hurt my metrics, but then I heard so often that the old people’s family literally don’t give two turtle shits about them and they literally have no one to speak to ever.
