Whenever I hold my hamster she goes on my arm and I try to put her back in her cage but she wants to stay on my arm so she uses her nails to grip on me so now I have loads of scratches on my arm 😂

Life hack: if you are looking for a hamster hide homes look at candle holders because the have a little place to hide in side and a part in the top where you could put in food or water. It’s saved me so much money I really recommend it!
Me! I just got a puppy and I’m literally upstairs with it all day and when I eventually go to bed I hear her on her wheel. It honestly scares me that she doesn’t get enough “attention” but like all I really need to do is to make sure she has plenty of food, check her water, and give her a treat
I recently lost my hamster rock. It died of wet tail. Due to lockdown here in india I couldn't provide treatment for my hamster. I cried a lot by watching it suffering😞 Miss you rock.... Good night

Depends on what the cause is, if they’ve lost a lot of weight in a short amount of time I would talk to your vet. They may also be a perfect weight depending on their genetics. This may help if they do need to gain weight; cheeksandsqueakshamsters.com/supplemental-diet

Hey tori, a video idea that would really help me is a video on safe and unsafe hamster or rabbit chew toys and hides, because there are so so many out there and when I’m buying it is hard to decide and detect the safe and unsafe ones x
Like someone else said most are safe Mineral blocks are safe if not chewed in excess but better to avoid Chews usually recommended are wood (mostly sticks but bendy bridges and wooden toys are good too), whimzees and toilet paper rolls. You can choose one or two others if you want. Hides make sure they can easily get in without being stuck/squashed. People like natural wooden ones over plastic (find it more natural and less sunlight in) but not a huge difference to me. Chamber hideouts are often recommended to stimulate life in the wild, cork logs can also be hides and are recommended, terracotta pots too, perhaps more so.

I’m in a massive playpen letting my hammy run around and let all her energy out for an hour or 2 and before anyone says, yes she has plenty of toys, tunnels, food and water in here (water from her water dish) there are also loads of hides, she has got 5 tunnels and 3 hides and last but not least her wheel 🤗🤩

I have a Russian dwarf who since I switched him from wood shavings to bedding his nails have grown really long. He can barely walk on fabrics without getting his nails stuck so I brought some aspen to put in a section of his IKEA detolf cage.

So my elderly girl, Eris, has VERY long nails, she is a roborovski and she hates being touched or anything going near her, it stresses her out alot. Basically its just all the colored or calcium stones are unsafe and if you want a proper chew thing you should just use wood toys
