    Thank you so much everyone for your support! It’s most appreciated. I didn’t do this video for my benefit, I only did this video for Mercer’s benefit and their reputation. I hope it shows. I’ll continue putting my content out there and hope someone gains something from it. Thanks again, you guys rock!! 💪🏻👍🏻

      @larry did you also notice that only ppl leased to mega carriers are posting videos on RUclips!! I’ve heard Landstar rates to bco’s is higher than what they post on load boards!! In my opinion the benefit of bigger carriers is lower associated fees but you also get lower percentage of the load!! I work for a small carrier I make about the same most days I make a higher per day average!! Drivers’ and others benefit over me is better fuel discounts usually and mpg!!

    7k a week should be a goal for any owner op out here, if you're smart and freight is available it's not hard to do.
    Same as you I have to average 1k or more a day no doubt.
    Idealy you have to gross between 23k and 26k a month if you stay within that you're doing good.

    I have what i think is a good amount of cash to buy a truck to come over there next year. What do you think is enough cash and should i lease the trailer or buy one at mercer

    • @DrivenTrucking
      @DrivenTrucking  6 лет назад +2

      Super Trucker! The trailers they have are good and at a good price. You own it after 5 years. The amount of cash truly depends on what you buy, the mileage, the year, and what needs to be done. Honestly I don’t have the “right” answer to that. A complete guess would be anywhere from 15-30k

      Super Trucker! I’ll have to get back to you on that lol. I found out today my gmail account has been hacked and it’s going to give me fits for a while. When I get a new email started, I’ll be sure to let you know. Should only be a few days at most but I do have tons going on at the moment.

    I paused your video before I even see your pay. I’m experienced with 2 decades and follow stronger by the mile and now you.
    Your a solid guy and calm so you get my two thumbs up.
    What I would recommend in your videos is be real. Tell us when your having a great week or day and/or a crappy week or day. I’m out here for months at a time but I don’t do videos. So I completely understand.
    One good trick to tell your viewers..... attaching the seatbelt around the door handle then locking it in the buckle. Same concept with your straps on flatbed. They’ll luv it because your keeping them safe while sleeping. Good luck and I’ll keep following. Btw, congrats on your newborn.

    I called mercer transport and they only offered me 75% of the load rate with my truck and trailer I feel the rate should be minimum 85% and I'm from Canada so I won't be able to interstate

    I came across your vid today and you mentioned another You Tub ( yes I left off the 'E') channel, Supertrucker Dan. First, from what I can tell you only recently started your channel back in June. So I am thinking you may also be new to flat beds due to some of what you said in this vid. Second, I am currently semi- retired, pun intended. But I've got many years, due to my being 65, hauling flat bed freight of all kinds, flat steel, coils, building materials, construction equipment, trees even... etc. etc. Also, here in Ohio, I am a Ohio state licensed CDL trainer as well a load securement trainer. That said, I was hurt 2 1/2 years ago and started watching You Tub channels to pass the time. I came across a vid of Supertrucker Dan's one day and was surprised that he was at a truck stop down the road from where I live and where I parked my own truck. He was talking about how he was going to be buying new heavier chains so that when he hauled coils, he would only need to put 2 chains on each coil he was hauling. I thought, Hey slow down there partner!!! 2 chains!!! Are you out of your mind??!! YOU CAN'T DO THAT!! IT IS NOT SAFE!! To which I addressed this to him. Don't know if he read it but let me assure you, here in Ohio, and I would think in all states, but Ohio is what I know, if you are caught using only 2 chains on a coil by DOT or Ohio State Troopers, PUCO, some Sheriffs, YOU WILL be pulled over and ticketed. This is an unsafe practice not only for you but especially for those who are in vehicles next to you, behind you or in front of you, if something was to happen. Have you ever seen a coil come off a truck? The damage it can cause is Not a pretty sight. I have seen other vids of supertrucker Dan where he does things that are cutting corners on safety to the public. So that said, PLEASE, take his advice with a great deal of salt because it is not always the right and proper safe way to do it. Remember this if nothing else I have said. SECURE your loads as though your family is driving beside you, behind you and in front of you and you will always SECURE it right. This business don't need super truckers, which by the way is old trucker slang for an ass hole, out here on the roads giving the rest of us a bad name.

      I greatly appreciate your words of wisdom. I put safety above anything else so if you ever see any practice that may be unsafe, please do not hesitate to let me know.
