Most comprehensive installation walkthrough on the Dyna-Glow gas heater on RUclips. Great job.
Thank you for showing the removal of the plugs! I couldn't find that anywhere. Its the small things...
Same!!! I kept wondering why it wouldn't light, but I could smell the propane.
I purchased one today due to a strong storm leaving my city without power and this by far the best well explained step by step video...thank you.
Thank you for the comment glad to help.
Seriously one of the best install videos I’ve ever seen. Keep it simple and to the point. Fantastic job!
Thank you Nate.
I am converting a step van into a mini home. I am installing one of these as a back up heater next to my mini wood stove. This was good help seeing this.
Thanks for watching and good luck with your mini home.
Life saver just got one and had no clue how to connect it to the propane tank till I saw what the led was at the bottom 😳. Also love the way its explained step by step with recommendations and giving you best advise you could get.
Thank you Kaiser glad i could help.
What size Allen wrench
My grandparents bought one of these back in the early 80s, the first ones had high and low but no thermostat. It was still better than the old flue heaters.
Awesome!!!! Going to install mines right now. Appreciate you sharing those skills
Good luck thanks for watching.
I never ever comment on any youtube video but this video was awesome! Thank you for the allen key tip on getting the plug out...something that simple was stumping me. Very, Very, much appreciated!
Thank you so much for the comment I'm glad to help you.
Thank for the vid. Have an old glo warm heater in my garage, pervious owner had it mounted to drywall and the back vent was blocked. I didn’t think that was right and now I understand I need some spacers. Thanks!!
Glad it helped
Thankyou! That was very helpful. The insteuction can take you so far. All i needed was some visual.
Great video and a beautiful home their buddy. I like the electric outlet on the side of the door opening.
Thank you Jim.
Thanks.
I wasn't certain on a couple of steps involved.
Your video clarified it for me. 👍
Glad it helped!
Thanks for this! Used this to install mine. You were very helpful and explained everything very well! Cheers.
Thanks glad i could help
You're awesome....thanks for your time and patience in sharing this video.
VERY PROFFESIONAL& KNOWLEDGEABLE, THANKS Kevin
Thanks for the comment Luis.
Great video! This really helped us install our heater since my husband doesn't believe in reading instructions lol
LOL glad i could help.
Thank you for a very informative video. Your presentation is engaging and comfortable to watch.
Glad it was helpful! thanks for watching
Thank you sir for a very detailed video. Much appreciated.
Glad it was helpful! thank you for the comment.
This man is a great teacher 😊
Thank you Percy Celestin glad I could help.
I still use old Thermarest natural gas heaters and love them. It's also a plus when the power goes out since it doesn't rely on electricity.
Of course there are gas heating systems, but I still prefer what I have.
Legacy, yes definitely good for when the power is out, thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video. This helped me decide to get one for my garage.
Glad I could help
wow thank you for showing how easy this really is
Just take your time and pictures thanks for the comment and watching glad to help.
Thank you for this video! You’ve probably heard this already but I would imagine that they recommend just two of the holes because judging by the spacing if you hit a stud with one of them it is very unlikely that the other one beside it will hit a stud as well, unless each screw is just barely grabbing on either side of the typical width of a “2“ by “4”. Also, if you have 24 inch centers between the studs in the wall that you are securing it to, it looks like you will most certainly have at least one side without a stud and needing an anchor. More than one drywall anchor that close together would not be recommended on one side but if both sides are in drywall only then drywall anchors on the two outside holes, furthest apart will give you the best holding strength.
Thanks for the comment William.
Instablaster...
Thank you for this video. I thought I had something wrong or possibly a dud heater. After you said it will take a long time, I went back and tried again and it fired right up.... after a long wait.
Thank you for the comment glad it's working for you.
@@Robinson-Homestead Same here. I checked every thing over and over again then found your video. Thank you
@@danbylsma107 Thanks Dan for the comment glad to help.
I'm having the same problem. How long did you have to hold down the pilot button before the gas worked it's way through?
@@alexandracsmith It took mine a long time to light off.
Thank you for a great video. I am getting ready to install vent free log stove. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the comment and watching.
Thank you, you're the GOAT.
Thanks! It helped me out fore sure. Not too hip on the battery either. Good delivery on the instructions.
Glad it helped Mark thanks for the comment.
That batteries only for lighting the pilot lite. How often will you need it? Once a year maybe twice. It looks easy to change and batteries are cheap.
I've been using one for a Icehouse with LP for some two years and have yet to replace mine. But I thinking of putting one in my basement to turn it into living space.
Thanks I am getting a natural gas ventless heater too and this helped me a lot to get info before I order thanks
Thanks for the comment.
Thank you so much for the information. Very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the video, good narration.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video, helped me decide that i want one for by basement.
Glad I could help
Good job & explained very well.👍👍
Thanks and welcome
Great video! Thank you for posting!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks good job on explaining it step by step
Thanks Aaron glad to help
Great video. I was really excited about this unit until I read their information on Amazon that said the units are not for sale in California or Canada. We had the old unvented Dearborn heaters when I was a kid (1950s), but yes, some people did die back in those day of carbon monoxide poisoning. Seems like a great idea for a garage or shop anyway, but that's just another limitation here in Cali.
Apparently the new ones (you may already know this) must all be equiped with oxygen depletion sensors that shut the unit off when oxygen level in the room drops too low.
Dearborn was the Best!!!
Great help for heater installed 👍😀👍
Thanks goat watched your video.
this very helpful most was unaware or to change the gas setting
Thanks for the comment
Thank you for the video. I want to install that type of heater in my cabin when I finish it. I currently use wood heat, and it causes so much dust.
That works thanks for the comment.
And the vent free heaters cause too much moisture.
@@hubster4477 Not if you have ventilation. Our RV filled with moisture till we realized the best ventilation was a ceiling vent open.
@@store4books not to mention the carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, soot, and unburned hydrocarbons that are thrown back into the area, why bother? Why have a window, vent open on a cold day? Nobody turns on the furnace in a house or cabin and opens the window.
@@hubster4477 haha.
Well, this is a start! I don't have natural gas in my home and so I have to find a video with propane. But I did learn very much. Thank you kindly. I picked up my unit today and the connections. I would have liked to see how you would treat a fan?
Well to be honest with you George there is no difference in the natural gas or propane unit.
Thanks for this video! You Rock!
Thank you for watching and the comment Tom.
Tom Dwyer Great video I feel I can do this myself

Well done sir, thank you,
Thank you for watching and the comment.
Great video thanks 👍
Thanks Robert.
These are safe to run but if you have any un-insulated exterior walls (you shouldn't) they will collect condensation. I ran one of these unattended in a mobile home last year and it was perfect...until the jets clogged and it shut off. Keep the jets super clean.
Thank you 😀😀😀
Everyone should plan ahead if you are doing any renovations, to install some scrap 2x4's before drywalling. Mounting into real wood is by far best. I have installed plenty of these over the years and prefer to have my shut-off valve a little further away from the unit.
Thanks for the comment
Great video thank you very much!
You are welcome!
This is a fantastic video. Thank you.
Thank you for watching Paula t.
@@Robinson-Homestead is it safe to hang pictures above it and if it is how many inches?
@@anthonyciccariello8089 I would not hang anything above the heater just to be safe.

Thank you really appreciate it

Nice video!
Thank you.
Nothing is more comforting on a snowy night than to be close to a heater like that and watch the blue flame roll up and the blower comes on while you're butt deep in your recliner pulling on a hot cup of coffee !!!
You got that right for sure thank you for the comment.
Whisky in the coffee makes it better.
☕️ + 🥃 = 🙂
They only tell you to mark two holes because once you mount the bracket you will know where the other two holes need to be but of course you will also know if you mark all 4 although it might be just slightly more accurate if you drill the other two after the bracket is up. If you have to use an anchor of course you want all 4. I would skeptical hanging a gas heater on 4 anchors. I bought a small one for my bath room and it wouldn't light. lol So I checked all of my lines running to the upstairs and they had been severed when a new main pipe was installed. Now i have to have them pressure checked to make sure they have no leaks. I am hooking a 40k with a blower on it up in my center room down stairs and will only use my furnace when it's going to get below freezing to keep my basement heated so the water main does not freeze. It will save me a lot of money in a long run. These new heaters are great. I hung a meter over top of one and it detected no gas at all.
Thanks for the comment.
Thank you great job.
Thank you so much for the comment and watching.
You just saved me a big brain ache thank you very much. Now all I need to do is get propane.
Glad i could help
Thank you for the info

Mix some Dawn blue dishing washing liquid in a spray bottle with water...about a 5 part water to 1 part soap mix and spray it on the connections. If there is a leak it Will Bubble. Happy Trails
Thank you !
Must I use Dawn or will a different liquid do? Do you get a discount for mentioning Dawn? Just kidding.
Great video and your helper was also great.👍
Thank you.
🔧👨🔧Great Video Thanks💜✌
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks 👏🏼
No problem!
Thank you for the comment.
Kevin this is a wonderful video. So nicely paced and I love the step by step clear instructions. I am going to be purchasing the 30,000 model with thermostat. I wonder if the kit you have works with that model as well. Thanks.
im not sure about that but please make sure to buy a carbon monoxide detector and be safe
@@Robinson-Homestead thanks. will do.
thank you
Thanks for the comment glad to help.
Thank you.
Thank you for the comment and watching James.
Kevin great video, the street threaded 90 is illegal, also add a tee and a drip leg. So if you were to sell the home with the heater youll need to add both. If not then ignore the haters.
Thanks for the information
What do you mean by 90 is illegal? Why would a 90 degree coupler be illegal?
Vent must be a very good company to be giving away a free gas heater, they must really like helping cold people, by the way my uncle is AOC.
thank you for watching
Thanks. Good Video.
You're welcome
Thanks
Welcome thanks for the comment.
Very Good!!!
Thanks!
Depending on the weight of what you are hanging on hollow drywall (no stud), two screws with anchors may weaken drywall or interfere with each other in close proximity. Since you have a stud on the opposite side, the bracket will be stable enough to hang your heater.
The bracket is specifically designed to connect to 16-on-center studs. So if your studs are farther apart than that, the anchors would be necessary, of course. Nice that they are included in the kit.
Great Job! leaving a comment just to promote you.
Thank you it all helps.
Well I sure learnt something here.
good glad i could help
Very nice gas heater and A professional installation from you Kevin I must say....I`m going to check the heater out on Amazon....looks interesting maybe for my garage for temporary heat.....CHEERS
Would be great for the garage Gator thank you for the comment.
I`m looking at it at the moment...CHEERS
Dude I looked forever,till I found this,hell yea
Glad i could help.
FYI, White Teflon is for water. NG pipe joints use yellow Teflon. Years ago Street Ells were not acceptable because of metal thickness on the male end due to the threads.
That is a normal sched 40 pipe thread on a street 90. it is no different than a piece of sched 40 steel T&C pipe. Perhaps that was some obscure local code from the inspector. Also, you can use white teflon on gas. There's no restriction on that. In fact many years ago the yellow was not even available. There's nothing wrong with the white teflon tape, but what is even better is using 4 or 6 wraps of teflon and pipe dope on top of that. Some appliance manufacturers may still have a prohibition on using any teflon on their appliances.
Not correct.. the color is for identifying gas line from water line.. White indicates water line, yellow gas but there is no difference in the tape
Thankyou man
No problem
Be interesting to see if you will have the same problem i had with mine. Installed mine in my attached garage close to floor & even with a 10ft ceiling it left a large brown residue spot above it.. Used on low to take the chill off then used the baseboard heat, so it wasn't used a lot. This year i installed another baseboard heater & will only use the gas in an emergency.
Thanks for the comment.
Nice video.
Thanks!
I just bought one yesterday I’m in Texas I’m using LP it works great considering it’s 10 degrees outside warms half my house
Thanks for sharing keep warm.
My heart goes out to ya'll. Stay safe and warm. Hopefully you get power back on soon. And the ice melts.
Good step by step bud. I am with you on the more fasteners the better eh. I rarely ever use teflon tape any more. Too much risk of a bit of it getting into valves/orifices etc. Great install bud. Sory I haven't been around much but you are not forgotten bud. Are these rated for mobile installations ?
Thank you Tomoko.
Thanks.
Thanks for the comment and watching.
Thanks, it helped. +++

So with this type of ventless natural gas unit and you're done warming the area for the day. Do you turn off both the pilot and gas knob? Then the next day turn on the gas knob and go through the lighting process again?
Hi what is the size of the natural gas fitting on the actual heater? I have a 3/8th hose
Good job oh buddy G-man out
Thank you G Man.
