We Stock Our Pond with: Frogs, Minnows, Bass, Bluegill, and a Red Eared Slider Turtle

A lot has been happening at the good old DIY pond. We finally added a water turtle. The tadpoles have all transformed into little toads. We stocked more bass and bluegill, and we even add some comforts to make it a little more relaxing. #DIYpond #pond #waterturtle

Make sure the kids use hand sanitizer after touching frogs and turtles because salmonella lives on them. Don’t hold a turtle any direction except flat and right side up for very long because to is hard on their lungs. The turtles will need a resting place in the middle of the pond. Too bad you didn’t get native pacific pond turtles. It is legal to get two of them without a permit last I checked. Contact a local Herpetologist club. Are you feeding with Purina fish chow? Turtles will eat that too.

Your pond is actually too small to reliably raise bass for fishing.
And the fish need a good place for spawning.

For sure, I don't think we are really going to be doing too much fishing. Mostly just for fun, or for the little ones.
