Only touchscreens without any physical volume knob is REALLY annoying. Good to know that there are others too facing this issue. Great customization you did there!
Thank you for taking the time to share you did this modification to your car. Like you, I also have a head unit that doesn't have the old style analog dial. Kind of scary to have to take your eyes off the road to make adjustments. I learned a lot watching this. Thanks again.
How has this held up. I need to change out my 06 Bose system with out steering wheel controls. Wonder if this will be a viable alternative over time...
Bro, some vets have the ride adjustable switch with the traction control button. you could have bought a used bezel, removed the factory switch, and placed your knob in the existing hole…about same size and location but you would not need the putty. Great video tho!
Is it possible to program the other buttons onthere for skipping songs or skipping across radio station presets? I much rather have tactile buttons while I'm driving than have to look at a touch screen interface. You made an amazing setup!
Just wondering if you've had any problems with your volume knob disconnecting from the head unit in other words where it works some days and some days it doesn't
Price? Part number? Where did you get the unit from? From an aesthetic point of view, the location looks really good, but I think that I would prefer having it flush with the bottom (is there room underneath to do that?)... no need for putty, painting or need for covering anything up and all it takes is a drill that's slightly larger than the circumference of the knob. Keep them coming, this is great stuff!
I noticed that my new GT86 Stock Steering wheel control registers on the head unit. Anyone know if the steering wheel controls on Toyota higher end steering wheel controls are wire connected or is there a way to pair up these controls without having to use the joying wireless I purchased?
@@VetOnVettes awesome thanks for the reply and video. You think it would be possible to put 2 wired on at once? Say add steering controls and a volume knob?
@@drewgrasse5829did you ever do this? Just put stereo in my c6 with no knob drives me crazy but I have volume on the steering wheel and would prefer to also add a knob.
A bit late here, but is there any way to disable that horrible beeping the head unit makes anytime it's being touched or has input going in? That would drive me absolutely insane, and it's the only reserve I have about following this install so far
If you find value in my videos and want to support a small channel feel free to buy me a coffee! (or not..) www.buymeacoffee.com/markalafrer

"Asian Chinese". Nice.
😎
I hope I can upgrade to aftermarket radio in the future great video like always
Thanks man!
i wonder if you could set this up with a different type of knob like a smaller one so i could have a second knob for bass adjustment

Can you provide a link so I can order one. Thanks
Do you have the link for both the head unit and the knob?
If you use the Metra Axxess interface there is no boot up time, it pops right on when you turn the key.
Just wondering if you've had any problems with your volume knob disconnecting from the head unit in other words where it works some days and some days it doesn't
So far so good. Has been well over a year. I wonder if it's interference between the knob and the transmitter?

Hey love your videos, I want to install this but I am wondering where did you tap the ground from?
Hey there, I have the same head unit. Do you have a link? On their site the knob is double this size. Thanks.
I have one , what size is the battery for volume knob ? Mine did come with one . Great content for us c5 owners.

Will this work on any aftermarket stereo?
Yes

I want the helmet. I love near Vancouver. I'll come get it

Yes you can shut the beep off
Does the head unit require the remote knob or is that something you did more for convenience? Clean install. It looks really good
Does not require. But I like the convenience of it. Especially for a quick phone call or drive through etc. Just nice.
It looks like shit.. its been 3 years and 3d printers are much more available now to average consumer thank God..
