Hi! I HAVE A QUESTION!😊 I love my dance and I gave up everything for dancing. I have been dancing for 3 years... It makes me so Happy! I am a Christian but the music in dancing is quite wrong sometimes. Sometimes its fine other times its not...I cant imagine life without dance. I STARTED TO CRY WHEN I THOUGHT OF GIVING UP DANCING BECAUSE OF THE MUSIC. I dont want to give it up its my passion. They teach me techniques. I love challenging myself. I dont know what to do.😭🥺
This is why I am here right now. You know the feeling? When your body really seeks the movements of the dance but you can feel the conviction..I’m stucked☹️
The Holy Spirit looks like He's speaking to you to think otherwise about dancing considering the songs are not right. Remember Jesus said if your right hand causes you to sin, remove it. It's better that, than going to hell with both hands.
When it comes to music and dance, we should ask ourselves how to find a better dance that will cease our passions, if hip hop is too much on the border line, perhaps ballet, or maybe even ice skating will give you the same feeling. Without the borderline music. I wish I transferred into ballet a lot sooner
You have such a sweet and humble spirit I think that you will reach a lot of young people just by they way that you speak so eloquently about God I pray that God continues to bless you and your channel

I use to listen to secular music especially reggaeton. I translated a reggaeton song and it said she does witchcraft on me. Secular music opens up portals to the demonic realm. You need to have discernment

For me I've made a personal guidelines that I go by with my music and Please things I watch and so far it works for me I don't feel guilty

It's important for you to guard your heart because of it flows the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23) As a Christian you need to be mindful of the songs and ideologies that you are feeding your spirit and ask for wisdom in the songs you open yourself up too. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. (Philippians 4:8) What good is it for you to listen such corrupted songs? How does this glorify God or benefit your walk with him. If you do not feel convictions this could also be a result because sin separates us from God, ask the holy spirit to soften and sensitize you to things are displeased in the eyes of God. A lot of Christians do this and do not know it is wrong because they do not educate themselves and receive wisdom by renewing your mind and reading the Bible, you are not like non-believers so it's important not to act like them (romans 12:2) i pray your eyes will be open to the truth Remember not to lean on your own understanding

But even if they had such words where is the problem? There should be no problem as long as you don't endorse what the song is saying and you don't get affected by it and start applying it in your life. Let's say that your training coach chose a modern rap/bad song you can still move to the music and disregard the lyrics, right?

I’m a gym trainer and dance composer and we use all up to date hit songs in our dance recitals as long as the song has a nice beat, it’s a hit/trending we disregard the lyrics. Specially that we do competitions and battles against different groups from different academies, so we need our performance song to be trending

@Kira Lou but then if you go by this idea then playing tennis doesn’t glorify God, performing classical ballet doesn’t glorify God, attending a fashion show doesn’t glorify God, going to the beach and tanning doesn’t glorify God.. Going to the movies with your friends or attending a karaoke party, social dancing party, lifting weights at the gym.. nothing of these daily humble social activities glorifies God. Does dying my hair brown glorify God? Does watching an episode of Friends glorify God?? What do we do then?? Abstain from all of that? It leads to laziness and introversion!!

It honestly depends on the person and how they are taking it and just because it talks about sinful things doesn't mean you have to automatically say well I can't listen to this , people now days are so judgemental over the dumbest of things and if someone chooses to listen to that kind of music that between them and god and not us I know a lot of amazing Christians that listen to all kinds of music ( including me but I'm not amazing lol ) and they don't let it hurt their fath or relationship with god

And in a since I get what some of what your saying but because you listen to said music doesn't make you go "cold" but it can if your not careful with it , it could really cause problems with your faith and actions. And I've never been the one to be into k pop but there is nothing wrong with listening to it but I would be careful because people idolize a lot of those singers and putting others before god like that is wrong and for some people that becomes a problem.
