    You inflate the tire without the sealant first, and then remove the core, add sealant, place the core back and inflate the tire again. This way there won't be any leakage

    Hi Moz,
    I also have a Hope 20Five wheel. Unlike tubeless setup on other wheels, I could never get the valves to seat properly on the rims. I have never had any trouble with other rims. I tried six valves from 3 brands (Hope, Stan's, and Shimano), and none would seal to the Hope 20Five rims. These Peaty valve stems look like they would do the trick with the O ring and larger diameter nut. Glad you had success even with 80 psi as opposed to the 36psi I was using. I have run tubeless off road for years and have never had any problems until this Hope 20 Five wheel on my gravel bike. More Faff than 40 years of working on bikes combined! Looks like Hope should include Peatys valves with these wheels until they engineer the rim properly for tubeless valves. My first Hope purchase and the most unsatisfactory cycling product I have ever bought. Finally found a work around by using Teflon plumbing tape around the stem. That fix kind of works, though I had to redo it 3 times. And, yes I checked the rim tape and replaced the rim tape (six times in a month trying 4 different brands of tape).
    In a couple of years, I have only been able to get a few hundred miles on this wheel when I have had zero problems with my HED wheels in many thousands of miles. Hope has a good reputation and I hope you have a different experience. Perhaps, I got a wheel that was defective in some way. The Peatys valves seem like a great fix for some of this wheel's deficiencies. Thanks for the video and best of luck with your wheels!

    Do you think 43mm is too short? Well I am just getting the Santa Cruz Reserve 30 carbon rims, I don't really know which ones I should choose, 43mm or 60mm?

      The longer valve 60mm will allow you to get a better purchase onto it when inflating it , in future. Better a bit long, than short? I’d say.

    Hey. So what was the verdict? Peaty’s or MucOff?

    • @MozOnBikes
      @MozOnBikes  2 года назад +1

      Both are really good, but I’d favour MucOff just because it come with a variety of rim seals that should allow it to work with more rims. Maybe the perceived quality of the Peaty’s is a touch higher, so if you know regular cone seals work with your rim shape maybe favour those. Both are really good.

      @@MozOnBikes Thanks. That echoes the conclusion I had reached. Basically peatys looked slightly nicer quality and nicer colour ways. Although both are similar, but muc off had the weight advantage and the additional seal options. Well… I have ended up getting both lol. I have ordered the Rasta peatys and the road set up pack from muc off.
      First time attempting a tubeless set up, just a normal hand pump aswell 🤦‍♂️ hoping it goes well 🤞

      Are you sure it’s not the rim tape around the valve?

      @@MozOnBikes its leaking from the oring when I tighten it it distorts just doesn't sit right

      @MozOnBikes  2 года назад

      If it’s leaking through the o ring it’s getting past the inside rim seal first.
      First make sure your rim tape has not split around the valve hole. Then I would look at possible using one of the different types of seals that come in the box.
