I thought I heard DP say he cut the legs 36". If so, the top will be less than the 36" they were shooting for.

For wood projects add 2X6 with some wood dowels that can be slid into holes drilled into the top of the sawhorses to attach the wood buffers so you will be able use the wood saw properly with the saw tooth sticking thru the bottom of the work piece, then store above the saw horses on walk brackets.
I saw the kerf marks in the to of the retired sawhorses

Hey, I have a pair that look very much like DP's saw horses. Been thinking about making a new pair for a year or two. Can't rush into these things ya know.
Very nice looking set of horses. If this wasn't a family channel I would have said "bad azz looking saw horses."
They could use a gusset or a weld of end plates to the bottom of the T pieces to protect from lateral movement.
Those saw horses look great. Plus it always feels good when things get organized. Shop looks great.
That is not fabrication, that is artisans at work/play, a most excellent set of saw horses gentlemen, that shelf design was some sweet engineering. Thanks for the video, enjoyed watching.

Mike, just build two good , strong, SAFE sawhorses. Make them out of metal that Aaron can weld up and put 4 x 4 wood on the top beam. Paint the beams green and bright yellow legs. You got all of the goody out of the wood ones.
"The GREAT SAWHORSE SAGA" Those new saw horses are definitely stronger and will outlast both of you. Great job. One shelf looks a bit wider than the other so you can put more stuff on that one ,and I'm not sure about the centering angles of the legs. Gives the saw horses a unique character. LOL! But what the heck do I know about building stuff from scratch. Better than the old saw horses. Those things scared me! Shop is looking great.

Yes I saw the shelves issue. Did anyone else see the issue at 25:35? Because of 25:35, the shelves may not be level in the long distance. Is it a problem? No. Did DP allow a mistake to happen, is the best part. Great job guys!

Just an idea you could drill some holes in the top to screw some timbers to the top on both of them and when you are doing work that you don’t want to scratch it will stop that from happening
Now there is a use for that florescent yellow paint of Aaron's.

The saw horses were needed for a long time
The legs should be several inches in from the end. 1. Leaves space for a clamp. 2. Less toe stubbing.
Maybe you should just copy the saw horses that are in front of you for width and the rest . And paint them yellow so you can see them when they fall over .
I've been waiting patiently for new saw horses!! Been watching you use the old worn out, unsafe ones for much too long! These will last forever until you can't lift them anyway😂 Way to go! And the shop looks fantastic! Great video guy's.

Wood Saw Blades really, Really, REALLY hate slamming into metal...I know...I've wrecked more than one by cutting a 2x4 and hitting a hidden nail or screw...
It REALLY sucks when I'm using a new carbide blade for the first time too...

🙂 first i saw the 2x2 jig and first leg was inward about an inch when leg tacked so if it were welded- then the cross for shelf would be lower at one end making the shelf lop sided on one of the stands that either has 7 or 8 grated shelf - one is 7 and other is 8 - just put the skinny stuffy on the one 😁 - I Was thinking part of shelf with 1" round holes to put spud wrenches and pry bars in. Shop looks great guys !!! SAFETY YELLOW with RED BARBER POLE NEAR BOTTOM OF LEGS !!!

Aaron always remember the boss is always right even when he's wrong. Safety First: Saw horses need replacing. A root rake for the skidsteer is a great idea.

Wink, wink Aaron isn't blaming DP, he just showing DP's failure's in the planning process's. I'm still amazed that DP allows Aaron to use some of that HIGH TECT measuring equipment, you know that thing that has a bunch of number's on it, and also has a lot of multi length lines on it, more commonly known as a measuring tape. I've notice that Aaron has become aware of the fact that a measuring tape has a smart end and the dumb end. I'll leave it at that.
Measure twice, cut once, measure again, cut again, trim a little off and call it good. MBTS can fill in the gaps with the welder. Love the shop video's during the wet/cold time of year.

Excellent video! Suggest putting a cuttable material like a 2"x4" or 4"x4" (glue) on top so you don't damage saw teeth and then you can cut straight through. Look at the top of the old SH's to see how much you've cut/drilled on the top plate. You guys are a perfect team; very funny.

I've built a few saw horses in my time and found it a good idea to draw the legs full scale in chalk on the floor. Saves a lot of messing about with angles and weld distortion

You should invest in an Evolution chop saw. I used my new saw on my last project and it was so much nicer. I also got a metal cutting Diablo blade for the 7 1/2" skill saw. It cuts plate as easy as you'd cut plywood. And almost as fast. I'll never go back to using abrasive blades.
