Dan, I hope you get this message...I think of you and your family often, especially your dear mom ( K) of whom I cared for in her most difficult time of her life. I remember you and your family and I hope that all is well. I believe your dear mom is with God, and I hope you strive to be with her for all eternity. Please be assured of my daily prayers and love for ( you, D, K J and P) . Phil is my nephew. God bless you.
I don't think I could bring myself to hate this guy in any way possible. He's just too wholesome and passionate about his own hobbies and beliefs. In other words, authentic.
This album grew on me in such a deep way. His music literally guided me through other realms and if I talk about it too much to the wrong person I’ll get locked up
Saw dan last night in Leeds and I think it may have changed my life, I’ve never felt so free and understood. His music is so so special. Dan deserves so much
Dan, many years ago my band opened up for you in Dallas, Tx. It was wonderful meeting you. Thank you for a transformative experience. I will never forget you-
Is no one going to comment how resourceful this guy is? His own makeshift recording studio with a sound absorbing closet booth and automatic drum kits and everything! I love his songs. Now it just made me respect the man even more!
If I can describe how Dan's music it's chaotic bliss. I really do love how he's made me reflect on my vices struggles and own faults. I realize his music has made me feel human. Dan if you ever see this I hope you come back to Miami Florida.
Such a genuine person! I loved when he said "It's only an experiment if you do not know the outcome." Thanks for the album and words Dan. And to people reading: I'd highly recommend the book Dan talked about 'Catching the Big Fish' by David Lynch. I read it last year during a tough semester of college and it was helpful to me.
I want this. I want to live freely like this. I don't want to have to meet the standards of a boss, company, or corporation in order to eat. I want to make whatever art I feel like without being penalized for expressing myself honestly. Why can't I have this?
I love all of Dan's work and I truly think this is a masterpiece. I think Dan is only going to keep making great music and showing us places we didn't know existed previously through his soundscapes.
Musical genius. There aren't many artists that go through this large scape of instrumentation. I'm so happy to have stumbled onto this artist that knows how to bring lyrics and music together in such a symbiotic way. It's like seeing music come alive in this video.
Saw this man live with beach house in Baltimore, he was such an enthusiastic performer with such a good stage presence with the music to go with it! Glad to see her getting that recognition out there, it’s beyond well deserved 🤘🏽
Dan’s performance at the Avalon Boston 2007 was easily one of my most memorable and cherished shows. He situated himself humbly in the center of the crowd with a picnic table and performed as he and his gear (equally colorful and chaotic) got thrashed around. It was a sweaty and raw and excellent. Thank you, Dan. Glad you’re still at it!
From an Old School Dude; the "Tao Te Ching" by Lao Tzu. Been around a long time before "Oblique Strategies"(I need to check out). Traveled with it in my back pack & carried all my life. Open a page a let it bring you where you need to be. That's all Dude.
While I don't think any single piece on this album beats out When I Was Done Dying as my favorite Dan Deacon piece, this was definitely my favorite overall album from Dan.
3:53 Where would I find the full list of guest performers? It seems this is about as much mention as any of them get, except for Ruby Fulton's cowriting credits on the liner notes.
THE ONLY ARTIST APART OF YIRUMA CAPABLE TO MAKE ME LEFT ALL MY HATE AND RAGE AND TRANSPORT ME TO THE REAL ESENCE OF WHAT REAL I AM AND THAT'S SAY MORE THAN TOO MUCH NOT EVEN ME HAS NOTICE MY SELF BEFORE DAN DEACON MUSIC THAT'S HOW TRACENDENTAL IS HIS ART AT LEAST TO ME HE IS ONE OF A KIND
Dan is so underrated, everything he does is just fantastic

"Drum robots, they have a lot of personality." Love this thought.

Dan worked really really hard and sacrificed a lot to get to this stage in his life. You can too but it will be lots of hard work.
@@johnmcnally322 I will take that as encouragement. Thanks :)
