I really like how careful you are about your materials, and making sure to use every drop. There is a true casual grace to the attention you give to your actions that are both mixing material and cleaning your tools. even through the intermediary stages between the beginning and end, your objects always maintain an appealing aesthetic that, I think, betrays not just joy in your craft, but reverence.
Douglas Lambert Good question. I used to make 300g lacquer and apply 100 bowls with it. But recently I'm just applying spoons, so use only a small amount of lacquer. Even if only 100g is made, it will remain. As a result, I have leftover lacquer, because if you make it under 100g, an error will occur.
@MrWatchred Thank you for your comment. This lacquer for finishing coat takes six hours to dry surface. And I spend 30 minutes for this process of mixing.

I really love the work you have done!
Do you need to make shu-neri every time you are going to use it, or can you make a batch and store it somehow?

How did you make transparent urushi? Did you add somethings in to urushi(tung oil, linseeds, tuủpentine)? Thanks
Couldn't have said it better myself Lambrequin! :)
Cinnabar is a sulfide of mercury - handle with care, don't breathe the dust, and don't use it in a food contact item !!
一回作ったら何日もつんですか(๑• . •๑)?
精製された漆なので、きちんと空気を遮断すれば何年でも。
Just as Lambrequin said exactly:)
