To me, after 40 years, He's still one of the best looking men I've ever seen! I know back in the 60's til today, the man could put those Ol boots under my bed any day! I don't care how old he is, He's like a fine wine, he looks better as he ages! The first movie I ever saw with him in it was A STAR IS BORN with Barbara Streisand! The first movie that I ever cried! I've seen that version at least 50 times, it never gets old to me! One of my all time favorite movies ever!!!
Before "A Star Is Born" I saw "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid" twice at an Austin drive-in theater. One of those times we took our infant daughter with us. I was excited that Bob Dylan played a minor role as a young boy but I fell in love with Kristofferson and it's been a crush that has lasted a lifetime. He is gorgeously handsome and oozes sex appeal. I had the honor of getting his autograph and have a very brief conversation following a 2014 concert in Fort Worth. A line was waiting at the side door near his bus hoping to have a brief encounter with him. He signed every autograph. I was so excited that I touched his arm. I handed him a pen that wouldn't write. His roadie handed him another one. He was so patient and kind. I felt like an idiot for handing him a pen that didn't write but it remains a cherished memory.

The best song writer of my lifetime, I’m 60. Funny thing though, I never liked “Sunday morning coming down“ until I heard the Upbeat version by Waylon Jennings, then I fell in love with this song.
Love Kris' music. I dragged my brother along to see him in London 2004 and couple of days before gig a group of men tried to rob me of money I'd saved up to see Kris but I fought them off and got a lovely black eye for my trouble anyway at bar at Apollo Kris wife and kids were there. I went toilet and came out and my brother was telling his wife and family about me n how much Kris' music meant to me and about my black eye. They loved my story when suddenly his wife took my t shirt I had brought and told me to wait. She had only got Kris to sign it for me and he was late on stage doing it for me. How kind of them. So so kind.
Thank you my mother named me. She had a grandfather who was really disappointed because he wanted me named after one of his old girlfriends. She chose this one all by herself.

Great interview and memories from Kris. I'll be listening to it again. I want to hear that story again. I wish Ralph would have pulled some stories out of Kris about his connection to Larry Gatlin.
No, “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down” is not a lonely song, it’s a Spiritual song. For several years after Vietnam I practically lived on his first four albums. In there are some great lyrics about the life of the soul. He’s way under appreciated. I’m glad to hear he had such a great time with the Highwaymen. He deserved it. He’s by far the best interpreter of his own songs. “Why Me, Lord” and “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down” had a big impact on my parents who were born-again Christians. My Dad got saved after flying 2,200 hours in WWII. His best friend was killed flying a B-29 in the Korean War. My mother, who was also a sincere believer, thought the lines about the can the kid was kickin’, the smell of someone fryin’ chicken, the song the Sunday school was singin’, the daddy swingin’ the laughin’ little girl, and the lonely bell a ringin’ were very, very moving. They liked, too, the pickin’ out the cleanest dirty shirt - which everybody in the whole country is using now and CNBC couldn’t even go on the air without it! A good interviewer would have asked Kristofferson how in the world anybody could’ve come up with such a great story and each and everyone of the evocatively brilliant lines! It’s a perfect song. Sorry, though, Ray Stevens doesn’t do as good a version. ruclips.net/video/vbqGWTxwZEA/видео.html
Thx @@steveperreira5850 He’s under appreciated for his great lyrics. For example he wrote the first line to the great Gospel song One Day At A Time when the writer came by and confessed she couldn’t think up a beginning > ruclips.net/video/jQIE1tO4Vzc/видео.html What’s great to me about Sunday Mornin’ is that it sounds like it could totally have happened or he made it all up or it was a combination.

I’m just now watching this first time Oct 2024. Kris was 74 here! I’m 74 now! He loved 14 years after this. I wonder if I’ll make it 14 more! When much younger people ever now and then commented I looked like Kris. Actually did. At ASU stadium in Tempe, Az when Kris and Barb were there filming for A Star is Born. My assigned seat was other end of stadium where the stage was! Couldnt see shit! So friends and I got up in front of stage where it was standing room only. Elbow to elbow! Barb was pleading for the audience to cheer and clap and make like we wanted to see, hear Kris sing! When Kris would come on it was mostly very quiet! We wanted Barbara to sing! She finally did so! We bribed her. Like 25000 people did this. Stadium was completely full! Was crazy. But while she was up there pleading and looking Rt and Lt, she saw me. She did a double take looking right at me with a curious look on her face. I really looked like Kris then. Had my hair permed at the time. Permed hair was great for water skiing! He’s 14 yr older but still we looked similar to each other. Was funny. RIP Kris! Barb can KMA! Dumb liberal!😂
It’s sad to see he doesn’t remember a lot of things due to his Lyme disease. This Ralph Emery guy seems to know a lot more about Kris his past than Kris himself. Great artist though and one off the best songwriters I know.
I always liked Ralph Emery. Great interviewer. Kris and his friends - well those friends been my hero's for a long time. Willie - Waylon - Leon Russell - truly the Good Wild Boys. Willie was inspired by Django Rinehart - the greatest guitar player that ever lived - Kris graduated from Oxford - and not the one in Mississippi!
Yes, Emery let's the guests talk and doesn't talk over them. Both men are gentlemen, notice no vulgarity or running other people down. Even KK'S comment report Streisand was ok. I remember when movie was being released there were reports Kristen and. Streisand hated each other. He was a drunk, she was a perfectionist.
Kris is one of my HEROES! He’s written so many great songs. He’s not a good player. Not a great singer. But he just has the it factor of words and his voice working. He’s just a damn legend.
Also, Ralph Emery was a damn legend as well. Such a great interviewer. He just makes it feel like sitting in a living room. I miss seeing him everywhere, which he was in my younger years. May he rest in peace.

Thank you my mother named me. She had a grandfather who was really disappointed because he wanted me named after one of his old girlfriends. She chose this one all by herself.
@@kimberlyhortz6471 Kimberly is a beautiful name. My daughter's mum wanted an Irish name(as she irish,I'm English) she picked 1out but when I went to register her birth I just get getting Kimberly flashing up in my mind and she looked like a Kimberly so I named her that. Thank God her mum loved the name and didn't kill me🤣😂 God bless you and thanks for nice reply. Most people on you tube are horrible 😂🤣✌️
My mother didn't want to name me lucretia that was the name. I could not think of it last night. Because she said she was worried people would call me cret or some other nickname. I am a Christian so I have to set an example. Some day I have to give an account to God. Truthfully my daughter was saved by 2 angels. I will write you later and tell you.
Living with his family in spectacularly beautiful, Hana, Maui . Willie lives nearby in little beach-side country town of Paia, near Jaws, where some of the biggest waves in the world, break.
What a great interview . Very interesting history on him and the people he met
I am watching his from Canada. I love Kris.
Wow.. It blew me away when he said "I never feel like singing".
This was great to watch. Thanks
Thomas. Norway
One of my all time favorite songs.
❤ sweetest, hottest and smartest singer ever
amen to that
How is it that this gifted man is not in the Country Music’s Hall of Fame???
But he IS (in the CMHF)
Love Kris
.changed country music for the good
All I am envisioning is some sort of movie where Kris Kris and Jeff Bridges play brothers. The vibe is so similar that I think Jeff is aging into Kris!
That's true 😉
Would be awesome
The closest we'll get is Heaven's Gate. Interestingly Bridges plays his own grandfather in that film!
I've had such a crush on him at 13, learning to play guitar, and been writing music and short stories since 11( like him) English Lit major in college, but no Rhodes Scholar or Pilot...we had much in common even though he's the same age as my mom.
I actually started listening to country and Kris which was far away from my Metallica and Ozzy.
Can't wait to see him when I get there❤️
so love this man.....and I'm old
I love Kris Kristofferson...
Congratulations, you are an INSPIRATION to many!!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and memories!
jmwSeattle you have a nice story About your parents and about the songs Kris Kristofferson wrote, thank you, Steve
Thx @@steveperreira5850
He’s under appreciated for his great lyrics.
For example he wrote the first line to the great Gospel song One Day At A Time when the writer came by and confessed she couldn’t think up a beginning > ruclips.net/video/jQIE1tO4Vzc/видео.html
What’s great to me about Sunday Mornin’ is that it sounds like it could totally have happened or he made it all up or it was a combination.
Ty for link, I was gonna Google it and now don't have too
Great interview love "KRIS"!

The greatest songwriter and human.
Both Texans also! He was born in the south in Brownsville. I was born in the Pan Handle, Brownfield! No kidding.😂
It’s sad to see he doesn’t remember a lot of things due to his Lyme disease. This Ralph Emery guy seems to know a lot more about Kris his past than Kris himself. Great artist though and one off the best songwriters I know.
Yep, but still a great interview.
@Patrick Ambrose. Totally agree.
Real class act. Great interview. Great upload. Thanks biggestkkfan. Regards Frank
Thanks for posting.
KK... awesome, talented man... in all aspects & experiences in life..!!
I always call him Kris Kris.
Kris has eight children from his three different wives. He currently has a home in Malibu and another in Hawaii.
Thank you, I liked it a lot!
I LIKE KRIS ONE OF THE BEST SONGWRITERS AND A GREAT ACTOR
Love his music.
Kris is a true American legend...what great songs...For the good times
❤❤❤❤ wow I loved this video
Two Legends!
I always liked Ralph Emery. Great interviewer.
Kris and his friends - well those friends been my hero's for a long time.
Willie - Waylon - Leon Russell - truly the Good Wild Boys.
Willie was inspired by Django Rinehart - the greatest guitar player that ever lived -
Kris graduated from Oxford - and not the one in Mississippi!
Kris is a Rhodes scholar. Yeah, the one in England
Yes, Emery let's the guests talk and doesn't talk over them. Both men are gentlemen, notice no vulgarity or running other people down. Even KK'S comment report Streisand was ok. I remember when movie was being released there were reports Kristen and. Streisand hated each other. He was a drunk, she was a perfectionist.
kris was right at 28:45. Glen Campbell did the Highwayman in 1979.
Beautiful 👏👏❤️❤️
Darby’s Castle.. my favorite all time song of his❤️❤️❤️❤️👍💔💔💔💔💔
thanks for the memories Kris RIP
Interesting interview.
What a songwriter!!! It’s a pity we have to age…Sunday morning coming down … me and Bobby Magee . Pls don’t tell me how the story ends…😢😊
