      @@nanocalderon1997 no it has traction control though if its like the older 2023, but there is nothing that will slip the clutch for you as that is completely manual. It will prevent the front wheel from lifting or spinning the rear though (I think any traction control does that) so in that regards its a near perfect launch, but for a true launch you still need to give throttle inputs while releasing the clutch (after that you can keep it full throttle)

    • @jakegarrett8109
      @jakegarrett8109 Год назад

      @@nanocalderon1997 They are only upshift. It has a slipper clutch so if you do slam down gears incorrectly and without using the clutch its smoother and shouldn't be as easy to loose traction and wreck.
      Also note that on any bike (within the last 100 years) you don't need to use the clutch for up or down, you only need it for taking off from first gear and coming to a complete stop. Motorcycle transmissions are continuously meshing sequential transmissions, unlike cars (where you need to use the clutch, with exceptions), motorcycle transmissions don't actually need to use the clutch if you do it properly. Notice how none of the quick shifters have a way to move the clutch? That's because they don't. They only blip the throttle for downshifts (which you can do with your wrist), or they can cut ignition for upshifts (which you can also do by closing the throttle with your hand). Since the ZX-6R is mechanical cable, they only have upshift (cutting ignition), otherwise they'd need a servo or something to move the throttle cable.

    Kawasaki website clearly says quickshifter is just upshifts (download the spec sheet), you'll destroy your gearbox if you downshift without clutch on this bike. Onboard system matches the revs for downshifts for you through ride by wire system, since there's no ride by wire on this bike but conventional throttle cable, there's no way this has auto blip.
    But keep the videos coming 🙌 can't wait to preorder my own.

    • @DavesMotorCars

      It’s the slipper clutch system that helps with downshifts off the throttle without using the clutch. Thank you for watching! I’m trying to learn as much as I can quickly to put out videos, trying to be as accurate as I can be but the info is limited on these.

    • @VishalNehra
      @VishalNehra Год назад +2

      @@DavesMotorCars slipper clutch won't allow you clutchless downshifts, it'll just avoid locking the rear wheel when you shift down on higher revs, the gear change itself has to be with a clutch engaged so that the clutch can match the engine speed for a smoother gear shift. You might wanna clear this up with the dealership.

    • @TKLMotoVlog
      @TKLMotoVlog Год назад +3

      @@DavesMotorCars correct. All zx6r lineup since the introduction of the 2019 and up with quickshifter are clutchless upshifting only. The technique you’re using is well known to clutchless downshifting/upshifting where you let off the throttle and blip it just as soon you do that, it disrupt the clutch plate and gears just enough to easily switch down the gear. The true quickshift and autoblip is control by the shifter module and drive by wire to cut engine at the right milliseconds to allow the gear to shift into place. Autoblip as the name implies, does engine revmatching for downshift to give that smooth gear transition. Slipper clutch is a technology to help ease in the abrupt clutch and gearing during shift and accidental shifting. This will prevent the rear wheel from abrupt wheel spin. ABS is to prevent wheel lockup, slipper clutch is to prevent wheel spin up. Don’t damage your gearing with improper clutchless downshifting. Good luck and welcome to the zx-gang!

      @@TKLMotoVlog this is correct and should be the knowledge, I owned the 2021 zx6r, quickshifter (upshift only), you can do clutch-less downshift but this is with me letting off the throttle and downsifht + blip with my hand, at the same time, so it's not autoblip. If you need to downshift on zx6r simple answer; gotta do it the traditional way unless you learn how to shift without the clutch which is advanced skills and that's on a different topic.

So far its been really stable, but I do think my suspension is WAY off (I'm the weight of a human twig, and it feels way too stiff and I don't think I'm close to using 80% of the shocks however I have custom fork socks/fork boots on it so I can't put a zip tie around them to really tell).

      Its only upshift, its easier to cut power electronically than it is to increase (blip throttle) when its cable throttle type. It does have a slipper clutch though so if you mess up manually blipping when downshifting without clutch its not a big deal.
      I've driven for over a decade without using clutch (except to take off from first or come to a stop) on older bikes up through new stuff, the way these sequential continuously meshing transmissions work means the clutch is not really needed so long as you unload the gear load when upshifting and blip up to rev match when downshifting (which is all those sensors do, but you can do it with your wrist really easy).

      @@iNFiN3 Probably sooner than that. I had a 250cc making 15 HP for about half my life, but after about 1500 miles I started opening up the ZX-6R (got about 2k miles in 2 months with it), and its feeling slow now since I've gotten used to it (by slow, I mean at the top end a 1000cc would be nice, but realistic for street its PROBABLY good it tops out at 150 mph...)
      The 60 to 120 time is about 7 seconds, and with 15t/43t it basically tops out at 150 mph GPS (160 will be indicated on dash at what looks like 16k rpm but I've seen 162 on the dash before so it must be like 15.9k rpm at 150.3 mph true GPS speed). That said, you have to be VERY selective where you open it up, because you can't just go doing that anywhere, some deer is going to run in front or some car is going to pull out of nowhere. The limit will be however fast you can slow down to a stop (and how long it takes for a deer to get to the road sprinting from the trees)

      I will note, I have the 2023 model with 2 power modes, and 3 traction control modes. The first 1200 miles I was very thankful for low power mode helping ease me into it (and I rarely exceeded 4k rpm in 6th gear which is like 40 mph since that's the break in period for the first 400-600 miles). Also today it was raining, so I actually used the traction control mode and you can tell when it kicks in (its very nice and smooth, not that wheel spin is a big deal if you're used to off-road play, but its nice so it keeps it tame and settles it down on rainy wet roads if you give it a touch too much throttle or shift slightly wrong, makes it much more forgiving)

    The Ninja 400s all came with a toolkit, in the same spot you've folded your manual under the rider seat. Perhaps the dealer removed yours or forgot to replace it after setting the bike up for the first time.

    • @jakegarrett8109
      @jakegarrett8109 Год назад +1

      The 2023 is pretty responsive, and I mean that in every way possible. Almost bucked me off while I was adjusting my backpack (one hand on the bars, when it accelerated more than I did pulling my throttle hand back which meant it it turned right leaning left, then I bounced back and forth cutting the throttle on and off getting bucked around because I wasn't gripping the tank enough), its got more torque than small bikes and inline 4 engines have a lot of engine braking, so it will be jerky if you are not smooth on the throttle. At very low throttle (just as its engaging) is when its the worst, and I was probably bouncing between 0 and 5% throttle.
      It doesn't take long to get used to, and its not very bad, it just isn't like a 250 where you can whack the throttle open and nothing happens, then close the throttle and barely anything happens. Also the cables from the dealership they had adjusted to spec but the 4mm of twist slop almost caused me to wipe out, I readjusted to about 2mm wiggle which helped a lot (I'm used to very tight throttles). It certainly has a lot more torque than small engines, but its really not a big deal, just slowly roll on the power (unless you're doing wheelies or something)

    • @RaidenF8
      @RaidenF8 Год назад

      @@jakegarrett8109 thanks for the input, yeah, on/off throttle which u referred to as the first 5% is what I care about a lot. On my 400, I would never go to first gear for tight turns cuz when I want to get back on the throttle while leaned over, unless I feather the clutch, it is not smooth and that's when u wanna be as smooth as possible. My 23 Ducati Monster does not have this issue, so I can easily go to first and get on throttle while leaning over.

      Could just get the 2023 model. Unfortunately its geared a little slow (I only saw 150.3 mph GPS at roughly 16k rpm 6th gear with indicated 160 on the dash), but it severely cuts power after 14.5k rpm.
      In an ideal world, I believe you'd want to go with 18 tooth front instead of 15 tooth for absolute top speed (I think older ones did 160 mph GPS, which according to my calculations is 16t front which perfectly matches the specs), however, its peak power is at 13,500 rpm which if you put a 18t/43t sprocket setup that would be perfect for 160 at that speed and might go a couple mph faster (though first gear would go up to like 97 mph which is ridiculous and you would loose acceleration)
