2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R ABS KRT Is a great bike, BUT... (My First and Worst video on YouTube EVER!)

  • This is the first ever video I'm making for RUclips! As someone once said, "Embarrassment is the cost of entry. If you aren't willing to look like a foolish beginner, you will never become a graceful master." So apologies for all the shortcomings of this video.
    This is my thorough review of 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R. Thanks to Bellevue Motorsports for making this review possible. In the commuter category:
    - The bike’s riding position is among the most aggressive ones I have experienced, giving it a 1/10.
    - The fuel tank is surprisingly big with a 4.5 Gallon capacity, and the presence of a fuel gauge is definitely helpful during a commute, so it gets a 7/10
    - As far as commute-specific tech, the ZX6R has no cruise control, no heated grips, no navigation system, and earns a 1/10.
    - Storage is very limited to non-existent in the ZX6R. If you are planning to carry anything more than your title and registration, you should be prepared to carry a backpack. ZX6R gets a 2/10
    - An important factor making a bike a great commuter bike is the dispensability, reliability, and dealer support. The ZX6R is one of the better priced super-sport bikes, and benefits from the reliability of a Japanese Bike. Kawasaki also has one of the largest dealership networks earning it a 7/10 For a total of 18 out of 50 points for the commuter category. No surprise that commute is not ZX6R’s strong suit.
    In the Performance Category:
    - The ZX6R’s aggressive seating position means better aerodynamics and better rider’s control in corners and twisties earning it a 9/10
    - The horsepower figure, being around 120-130, and the torque value claimed to be around 51 lb-ft of torque at 11500 RMP earns it a 6/10. Liter bikes earn higher scores than 600 cc class of motorcycles in this category.
    - ZX6R is pretty heavy for its class at 430 lbs wet, about 20 pounds heavier than the CBR600RR and Yamaha R6 making it earn a 5 out of 10
    - The rider aid’s technology is limited to only the upper shift quickshifter, Kawasaki’s traction control, and the ABS system earning it a 5/10
    - And finally, as for ZX6R’s looks and design philosophy, it is an aggressive looking bike with the winglet design air-vents, but the main air scoop in the center and Kawasaki’s conservative rear-end design diminish the overall looks slightly making it earn the ZX6R a 5/10 For a total performance score 30 out of 50 And a total Emi score of 48/100.
    My thoughts:
    If you are a track warrior with a more conservative taste and are looking for a relatively cheap super-sport motorcycle, the ZX6R definitely deserves to be amongst the top bikes on your list.

    Hey congrats on your first review. I'm glad I have my 2013 ABS white black edition, just hit 28K. I took off all the badging stickers accept tank, super sick IMO, did some basic mods Two Brothers full exhaust, Vortex 520 chain and sprocket and MM tune, I upgraded the led lighting all the way around along with a few other little things and it's a track weapon while still being a street warrior. Had a ZX10R but sold it for the 636 just more fun and hang all day with 1000cc just not on top end straight aways which is rare and fine.I have enough room in my rear cowl for what is needed like a tool kit spare fuses, everything else I need I just put in my jacket and riding pants which look like yours TBH lol. I really like the new white 2024 for a few things like the front seat removal along with the gas gauge but i'm use to just resetting trip meter. I find it strange that they took away around 5HP from it but a quick tune and it should be good to go! not that it's really slower just a kawi thing I guess, and they have said why but still?. IMO the 636 is possible the best SS you can buy for the money and they keep making it after all these years so props for that. End of day everyone has their favorite brand and that's what matters most.Cheers 🙂

    upshift quick shifter works by quickly cutting the ignition. As far as i know (someone correct me if im wrong) you cant have an auto downshift on bikes with a cable throttle because there is no way for it to auto blip as it could with an electronic throttle

    • @emadreviews
      @emadreviews  Год назад +1

      I am unsure of its mechanism, but as far as my previous bike ZX10R went, it didn’t have any quick shifters, and the dyno shop programmed it into the bike without upgrading any hardware. It just seems like Kawasaki uses the same shifter package as the ZX10RR on their base models and a tune can get you all the benefits back again. Not too sure about the ZX6R as it has no versions with both up and down Q-shifter/autoblipper

    • @B_kiz
      @B_kiz Год назад +10

      @@emadreviews yup the zx10r has a "fly by wire" throttle so that explains it! When you twist the throttle on a "fly by wire" you're not physically moving anything on the throttle body, it's more of a switch telling the computer how much to open and close it. So you can have the quick shift down because the computer can blip the throttle itself. On the Zx6r you are physically opening the throttle body with a cable, so the computer can't do that on its own for quick downshifts which is why you'll never see it as a feature! 🤓

    Best storage on a Sports Bike is Hands down always going to a Great Backpack. My go to point65 Boblebee GTX25 has more than enough space, and even the ability to add more, and every part is replaceable as well. Keep in mind that for example, BMW S1000RR is also a capable track bike, and has heated grips and electronic cruise control. It’s not about whether the bike is designed for comfort or not, the point is that if Kawasaki wanted, they could have made the bike just that much comfier for street use, but they didn’t. And for that, the ZX6R gets to be judged for not having features that other supersports offer. Hope this helps

      @@emadreviews understandable but you re talking about a bike wich not only is a 1000cc wich is overkill for the streets, that you re never gonna use that to 100% outside the tracks, but also costs the double the ZX6R, and thats only the base model.
      I understand your point but they re 2 different bikes wich have an abysmal cost difference

    I know americans love faired sportsbikes but let's face it, this is too little too late. A Triumph 765RS is better in every way

    who do I have to sleep with, bribe, or kill to get one of these? I can buy one? lol. I'm married. They say its easier to ask forgiveness than permission, however those men that live by that are now on their 4th marriage.

      Not sure about sleeping with them, but I’m sure dealers would give you one if you pay them.
