Two truly gutsy moves by Dave: Early bishop sac and deliberately allowing his queen to be trapped.
Dave's trapped queen was just as inactive as Duck's queen, but Dave's queen was also immobilizing Duck's rook, knight and bishop (for a while).
Sacs are often not entirely sound but so shocking that the opponent messes up. But the computer showed Dave's sac was very sound. In fact, after 2:00 he had some even better moves...perhaps they were:
b4 ... Qb6
a5 ... Qa7
That was hella fun to watch

Interesting game. The theme of the game was the white queen under lock and key. I thought that black had opportunities to set up the white's queen capture.
I was screaming Ng4 at my screen since 3:33
At 5:05 Duck should've played knight on H6, than white queen takes rook on E8, king takes queen on E8, bishop takes knight on F6, threating with queen - check fork, so knight goes to G4 threating mate next move and attacking bishop on F6.

Chess masters who set up shop taking on all comers for money had to also be entertainers. This tradition carried on to friends playing casual games. There used to be players that I would watch just for conversation

I think it is just great that Coffee Chess has a mix of different kind of players . Today Dave decided : i'm going all in right from the get go and he did VERY good , but i'm also a little surprised that Duck did not see how he could get the trapped Queen of Dave . I guess Duck is human too haha . Anyway...one of the weirdest games i have seen on Coffee Chess thanks to Dave . 👍🇳🇱🙏
The Duck never really had a chance to get the queen. Only once, when Dave moved his bishop to f2 was it possible. the duck's queen had to defend the rook pawn from Dave's queen.

I know its easier to see moves sitting behind the computer than being in the hot seat but i was really surprised that Duck missed trapping the queen when Dave moved his bishop. That seemed really obvious given the focus of the game.
i think in 5:55 Dave has to play Nx F6;and if E7 xF6(the Duck cant playNXF6,becouse of QXd8) then BxF6,and has to win!

6:17 take with the bishop. If he takes with the knight, you get the rook.
If he doesn't take and moves, you own the square and the diagonals, which now you can develop and win with.
Or just mate with the queen.

There are few others players I would put above Carlin but can't remember the name.
This was the first game Dave has actually won by fair play.
8.55 mark should move h6 black queen f4. So he threat white rook and can win in the next turn. If white makes a mistake not protect his king.
The only problem is Dave should have allowed Mark to choose if he wanted to move his Queen to take the knight or do something else. Otherwise, the players and fans will question did Dave really beat Mark or force the moved with Queen to take knight.
Quick question to the Chess masters here...at 8:30 if Duck had moved the knight from g8 to e7, somewhat trapping the queen, would that have been a good move?

White could've won at move 11 (2:00). Instead of Nxg7, Bd2 was crushing - the black queen has nowhere to go after the inevitable Nd5.
