Dave definitely has himself defeated mentally before the game even starts when he faces Duck. You can tell he's scared of Duck despite being a very good player. Dave needs some of Carlini's confidence when facing Duck!
I feel the same issue with Hikaru vs Carlsen. Hikaru despite been a great GM does not show confidence against Magnus.

I think that's a good idea, too; the problem I see is it is very slow. Having all his pieces jammed into a small space hurt.

Should I spoil it? Computer analysis of position. When it swings, I try to find a move the computer likes better. Or figure out why leaving the piece that was moved is a better idea.

5:47 here white should have gone Ne2 instead of Nf5, forcing the trade of knights with black then black of course have to take Nxe2 then white takes Qxe2. And then maybe white could have a chance to survive that position.
