Thank you man I just ordered an Irig HD mic to Connect to my MacBook Air m2 for my live-streaming
Have fun!
@@digitaldjtips Thank you The amazon mic wasn't working on my ddj 400 controller had to returned it
Hi Can a RODE microphone be used on a DJ controller? (I seemed to have got a tiny very low volume of sound out of it in one attempt) Is there different types of trs sockets?
You don't want to use a condenser mic on a live performance, dynamic mics are the best option for djs
They are indeed.
there's loads of fake SM58s out there, I bought one on Ebay a couple of years ago, managed to get my money back though. They hold their value, so if you see one for a bargain price, its probably a fake!
Thanks for the warning Victor.
hahaha. Love live presentations. lol
*Just connect a headset with boom mic to the mic in and phono out simultaneously- legacy setups are so dumb* 😂
✌👍
I got a djm700 4 channel mixer (not used for djing anymore). I got Two channels are used for audio. But want to use the spare two channel to put in microphones coz I want to use it as a was to have interviews. What sort of microphones could I buy (wires or wireless) that I could plug into the channels (RC line in / phono). Is there a way to achieve this? I guess there won’t be power going to the mics since the channels are line / phono?
While that may be possible, I've never seen it done. I am guessing you'd need some kind of mic pre-amp or mic mixer.
👍👍👍
Balanced signals have nothing to do with shielding. There is a separate positive and negative unconnected to the common ground. The diaphragms in microphones (and also vinyl cartridges for that matter) produce a positive and negative which should remain isolated from ground. They are immune to interference as both positive and negative pick up the same, and cancel out.
Thanks for the technical explanation
I try to connect a condensor mic to my xz but It doesn't work. I found They say they don't work on pioneer mixers. Is this right?
Condenser mics don’t work on any DJ gear as they need something called phantom power. You need to use a dynamic mic
Very nice topic to discuss.
Personally I've had great success with a Shure SM58 over the last 10 years of DJing... The same Shure SM58. lol
For Live streaming USB mics are out there -OR- you can use mixer/usb audio interfaces. I have a Baheriger Xenyx Qk1002USB and a Macki Pro FX6 that both work fantastically and allow me to use any standard mic for streaming. With the added bonus of extra control over the sound quality.
an important note if you choose to use a beautiful mic like the Shure SM7b, you will need a cloud lifter. Standard Phantom power just isn't enough for it. It's one of the few that i've seen with that problem, but do your research!
thanks for the very useful extra info.
@ 7:00 ... The Shure SM7B is a "Dynamic" not a Condenser Mic. I'm sure it was just oversight on your part. Just wanted to clarify for all the viewers. Nice run-through & breakdown. Keep up the awesome work :)
Thanks for spotting this error!
You like these long-form livestreams a lot - can you then not add chapters after it has aired, for us who come in late? thanks
Good suggestion... we'll think about that.
#ask if you use the microphone that is wired from a karaoke machine can it still work with your dj controller?
Not sure what you're asking Alexis.
#ask I am asking if you can use a microphone from a karaoke machine for a dj controller?
I'm loving that Blue Yeti BUT when I'm DJ'ing I have the speakers in my room turned up fairly loud. Would this mic pick it up and cause feedback or just sound like crap? I'm using an SM58 right now and it's not bad but could use some definition in my voice over the music.
No, you should stick with the SM58.
@@digitaldjtips OK Thanks!
When running a mic through an external board, is it best to use dynamic or condensor mic while live streaming?
No "better", but an external board usually has Phantom power so it means you can use either.
Shure sm7b is dynamic, you are wrong
Yes you're right! Thanks for the correction Maxim.
