Perfect stance! Still may be beneficial to roll the edge of inner lip upwards slightly with a rubber mallet to prevent sidewall cuts.

Copy the S197 fitment with a 15x10. A 275/60 is recommended for a 7.5-9.5" wheel, going with a 12" would be pointless and put unnecessary strain on the sidewall in my opinion

I've done this before and here's how you figure it out. (1) Put a wheel on the car with known backspace, then measure the distance between the top of the tire and the inner wheelwell. Note, it is import that you have a tire on the correct size wheel - not too narrow or wide for the wheel; (2) gather tire(s) off wheels of the size you want on the car; (3) take the car out of the garage someplace you have about 20 feet behind and on the side of the car so you can view it from a varying angles and distances; (4) measure the height of the rear wheelwell lip to the ground; (5) jack up the rear of the car from the center of the rear axle, remove the rear wheels, and place the rimless tires centered in the wheelwells. (6) Lower the car so that the wheelwell to ground measurement is back to what you had with the tires on i.e. normal ride height. Now you can move the tires in ward or outward, jack the car up or down to see the best placement of the tire for clearance and looks. Make sure the tire is straight i.e. parallel to the car - slightly turned. When you got it where you like it, and it's straight, measure the distance between the top center of the tire to the inner wheelwell at the same spots you did in step 1. The difference between that measurement and your first measurement tells you what adjustment has to be made to the backspacing. Best of luck.

That's awesome, glad you didn't have to spend days figuring it out. I actually have to run s197 offset wheels on my 66. 😂 It's got a 9" out of a 72 mustang and it's like 2" wider at the flanges. The s197 offset is nice because, it changes the direction of the load on the axle flanges and I'm sure it helps bearing life, as well.

I saw this on last week's video .. generally when trying to use that size wheel , the WHOLE wheel tub is removed all the way to the 1/4 panel , the new wheel tub is then attached to the frame as normal and the outside is attached to the 1/4 panel with 3m panel bond , this allows you to drop the car really low with that backspace . You can probably still do the outer part of the new wheel tub , it's just a pain in the ass.. also the rear housing could be shortened a couple inches , the axles usually have enough excess spline that can be removed , so you don't have to buy new axles
