In today's video, I visit my friends, Alex and Nick to film some honeybees. We visited Bountiful Blossoms Bee Company to get up close with some of their hives where we hope to capture some great footage. We used a number of different gear for this shoot, including the very bizarre Laowa 24mm Probe Lens. Hope you enjoy the video!

Hope you enjoyed this Beehind-the-Scenes video. Next one out should be about our shoot while filming bison!
Brilliant video, THANKS for filming & sharing!!!
I see wat u did there
This is another great day of saving the beeeezzzz.
Very nice presentation, thanks for sharing your tips and angles. Honey bee research and observation are very important for many of us. I have a great appreciation for finding more interesting ways to observe the bees. Thanks for sharing. Was the built-in led lighting system of any use to you, or was it just too limited? I wish you all the best, your presentation is outstanding! Thumbs UP.
As a beekeeper and amateur wildlife photographer I can really appreciate the footage. It's nice to see what is going on inside a hive when you are not disturbing them during extraction. The banana smell is an amazing experience and like Dr. Fassbinder-Orth said, it's not a good time to work the bees when you smell that. Thanks for another great video!
So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
... TRULY .. OUTSTANDING ... SO NICE TO SEE "BEES--UP--CLOSE" .. 💋👍❤👍
Absolutely Amazing Protect. Bees Are Wonderful. Many Thanks For Sharing.
Beautiful! Thank you!
Installing a softbox, easiest way is to put the box on the ground, install the light and then put it to the stand. quick and easy.
Simply incredible!
Way to go Nick, I thought that Softbox was going to kick your ass! LOL.
Haha, a true underdog story!
Wow…absolutely amazing
Thank you!
Very interesting video. Thanks.

How the Bowens mount rose to the top is beyond my comprehension……😂😂😵💫
Am now really convinced to learn filming.......thnx to exist in this earth ❤️
❤️❤️
Now this, was very very interesting. I wanted to see more. 👍😁👍 Absolutely loved the stage setup for this shoot.
Wow! That was so cool and insightful. The laowa probe lens is incredible. To capture this footage is remarkable. I love this perspective of shooting. Not sure if it's a new style or not but I'm seeing it for the first time. Thanks for exposing this style of photography.
Thanks for sharing this amazing Video. I also have the Laowa Lens and you gave us a great example of how useful this unique lens can be used! Thanks!
Such a unique lens! Hoping to use it more in the future.
Really great work and this objektiv is amazing.
Wow this is amazing.
Thank you!
this footage is beautiful!!
Super interesting
Thanks!
I have been following you for a few months now and I've never commented. But you actually really deserve comments, likes and subs. I like the vibe you have, the content you make and how you explain. Keep it up! So yeah, that's the reason I felt like I had to leave a comment. Oh and this video is really inspiring! Love the concept and can't wait for the finished video!
that footage is gorgeous!! love the light leak through the tree leaves
Glad you enjoyed it!
can't wait to see the Insect Decline video, sounds great for my Entomology course!
I'm excited to see it, as well!
I didn't know about the banana smell as a warning for bees! That's so interesting, and now I wonder if bees are around a banana, will they think the smell from it is a warning sign from other bees? I am squeamish when it comes to insects, but these shots are amazing and bees aren't as creepy-looking as some other insects, so I could watch this without getting too squeamish about the closeups haha XD This is so cool!
Your videos were always special, keep up the good work stefano👍
So glad you enjoy them, thanks for watching!

I am a student in Dr. Fassbinder-Orth's class and this is amazing to see! I'm looking forward to seeing how her short film comes together. Thanks for the video!
That's awesome! Thanks for watching. And I'm excited to see it, as well!
Another awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
That’s a pretty cool episode. I’ve been a beekeeper for about a decade now. Makes me want that Laowa macro lens. I’ve thought about it before.
I get a kick out of how they apparently got new beekeeping protective gear for filming so everyone doesn’t look completely stained and filthy.
Thanks so much! I've seen some interesting suits online, even some with AC built in haha
@@StefanoIaniro Ha. Yep. Beekeeping is loads of “fun” in that getup in baking hot temperatures, under the sun, working for hours lugging boxes full of honey around. I feel bad for the folks who combine that with oppressively high humidity.
Indah banget pemadangannya
Thanks!
Nice
good bee vid
a awesome video
Thanks so much!
I am a beekeeper and absolutely delighted to see this behind the scene. Where will be the final product /movie?
It’s still a ways away so not sure if they have anything confirmed yet. When it is released I’ll definitely make a post about it on the channel 🙂
The wildlife pond update please 🙏🙏
🥰🐝
This is so fucking cool!
Thanks so much!!
When I rented the problems I did a lot of snakes and reptiles. I never thought of filming bees, that’s such a great idea
Snake/Reptile footage must have been epic with it!
@@StefanoIaniro yessir! I need to get some rattlesnake footage put up with it soon.
I understand the Laowa Probe Marco lenses are manual focus. Did that cause you any trouble along the way ? I’m planning to purchase a lens for more creative photography of the jewellery I make. Thank you.
When it comes to macro, I shoot pretty much all of it manual focus. The depth of field is so narrow that when I'd rely on autofocus (with other lenses), it wouldn't lock on to what I needed. So when using this lens in manual, it wasn't too much trouble. Just made sure to get a few takes of every shot/angle just to be sure one of them would work.
2 Year later can i ask what slider motor is that please :)
Will be more this kind of quality content BTS on your channel in the future, please? :)
Oh my goodness you were in Iowa without me knowing??? Noooooooo
oh you got a Laowa 24mm probe. i have one, but mine's stuck in another country i can't get to...
This one belongs to my buddy!
@@StefanoIaniro fyi if you didn’t already know, the long barrel and front element is waterproof. you can stick it in your pond if there’s interesting bugs like dragonfly nymphs or something~ i want to try looking for razorclam holes or mangrove/soldier crab burrows when i can get back to my lens~
Can you visit Sri Lanka
Hopefully one day!!
@@StefanoIaniro you should 😂
Is that a laowa or you’re happy to see me. 😆
😅😅
Nice video as always ! :D
Though as you said the topic with honey bees is pretty controversial.
I would like to suggest watching one video about the problem with the honeybees:
ruclips.net/video/VSYgDssQUtA/видео.html
I used to think honeybees are a good idea but tbh. after having watched this video Im not so sure anymore.
Not a critic just a suggestion for further information, more reasearch or just a different angled viewpoint at this topic.
Why aren't you wearing gloves wtf 😭😭😭
Great video mate!
Thank you!
