i find that with most content creators once they make enough $ from youtube, the wives become a lot more involved and happy to be on camera, anyone with 500k to 1m subscribers is making good $
Having been following your channel for a few years, it's really cool to see, not only the growth of the channel, which you are totally worthy of, but also to see how Kari is much more comfortable with the cameras. You guys rock! @PotatoJet #Kari
Dude the ball point thing was fire!!! I was jumping up and donw on my chair like a 9-year-old when I found out that was your live feed. Thank you for bringing us so much joy. I don't know the last time I felt this happy!!!
Love love love this episode!!! I am a scientist that looks into the microscope on a daily basis for work and you made looking through the microscope so fun and exciting! Continue exploring!
I have this set on order, but sadly no indication to when it will arrive. So far it's been very costly to set everything up to get started. I bought a new small table dedicated to place my subjects on, 2 small LED lights that clamp onto the table (though I'm really not sure if they will be bright enough), one LED panel for backlight, an electronic focus stacker to be able to move in extremely small increments, printed some backdrops in case I will make like insect photos, crazy amount of gemstones and some butterflies. Guess I need a good focus stacking program, or maybe Photoshop/Luminar Neo will suffice. Do you recommend a high intensity light like Nanlite FS-60B LED Spot Light? I was thinking about that light together with a Fresnel lens to focus it's output to a small area. Or would that be overkill?
I recommend Zerene Stacker for stacking multiple photos. You should stick to you current LED lights and try them out. You'll be suprised that this lens does absorb a good amount of light. At 35x and 50x it does get more demanding but you can always supplement with more lights. I use a ring light and 4 Xplor 100's for lighting my subject, which is plenty. I photograph insects in case if you're wondering.
even in FF the depth of field is soooo shallow. if they made GFX version, probably need F100 aperture or focus stacking hundreds of frames to get an Ant's back and leg together hahaha
You could start a website selling background pics and super close up video. I just kept seeing text over the images. Like a finance business with the penny up close. Very cool.
I'm so curious how would you do video for surgical cameras? I work as a dental surgeon and would love to record my surgeries, but finding it hard to capture videos up close without getting in my way. I want to mount something on my forehead or glasses, what would you suggest? lol Long time follower!
Laowa can't even sponsor this video HAHA.. says all i need to know about the product.. they don't even believe in it themselves.. that is why the official 50x butterfly wing shots they released are so soft.. they know this is a cash grab i think (that lice shot was pretty incredible sir!!) are those water bears shot with the Laowa?? WHOA AWESOME vid, they owe you a ton as this is the only decent video i can find
Actually at 50x, you can get a pretty decent sharp image. Of course, its not Mitutoyo or Nikon objective quality, but for that price, I would still recommend this setup. Unless you're really serious about this genre, then I would probably suggest buying Mitutoyos individually which would easily set you back 5-6k, maybe even more depending where you buy them at.
Potato jet always keeps things interesting. From drones to cinema to biology, this guy is a legend. Keep up the fun work.
i like How carrie has become more comfortable participating in the videos, also also she actually reminds me of carrie from myth busters lol

A close up of a striking match with the slow mo camera would be sick
pairing this with the slo mo camera was awesome !
Those aperture lights are so handy, from photography to power outages they are great!
@Potato Jet Nice, Gene!!! These lenses would be a great addition to any filmmaker's lens collection. Thanks for reviewing 👍🏾

Leave it to Potato Jet to get so curious that he finds himself intersecting with cell biology 😂 such a good video
This is one of the most fun videos I've watched in a long time. Definitely will buy probe lens in next months;)
Great job on the video folks! Thanks for making it. Looks like that was a fun few days at work.
I'm able to do this with our lab microscope and it is always interesting. The ballpoint pen was a cool idea. Doing that tomorrow :)
sam @4:22 riding the scooter like a hotrod with monkeybars and no one even batting an eye. I love it.
Nice to see the original team, Sam and the Potato

Thank you fun to watch, it would be helpful if you broke down the rig you are using....
This lens combined with Fujifilm GFX100's pixel shift would be crazy
holy sht, u right

@@jnhkx I calculated the aperture on fullframe and it's like F/55 if I calculated correctly, for the 50x
@@jnhkxthey make it in gf mount.
I love it. Such a fun video!
Can you do focus stacking?
love carrie! blessings!

Laowa is the Porsche of the lens industry.
Should've tried some focus stacking!
That bug on bug took things to next level
This channel is amazing
Very nice 😎
I was honestly not expecting them to be as cheap as they are for the set
I am amazed ❤
Aperture is like F200?
Why didnt you use the 50x on the sensor? But otherwise amazing video 👍🏻
Try a close T stop a 36 not a wide open just to see how it works
About time 😊
Ok, it's terrific or terrifying, idk, but cool anyway 😂🎉
please do telescopes next and do the surface of the moon
that's cool
Some of the shots definitely give me goosebumps, positive ones and also ewww ones hahaha. Definitely very intriguing style of photography.
swag vid
good
Amazing.. but also a whole lotta NOPE in this
Just wondering if you could how can you turn micro lens in to high powered zoom optical lens? Just hypothetical question
And how far you able to see?
You should do an eye shot
Would be nice to try a b-roll on a power slider with this lens ( it might peek every vibration but I think will be interesting)
I would also like to see that
So basically EVERYTHING is dirty!
Gee, thanks guys...
That's very much the opposite of microscopic lenses... They're huge microscope lenses.
Should have attempted a stack on the tight photos
What tripod is that?
How do one make profit from shooting macro and microscope things and how do you find clients?
Hahaa good question
You should try old french cheese crust. I did that at age of 10. I'm 34, french and can't stand cheese 😅😅😅
@ 9:47 what tripod is that?
Don't eat lunch while watching a Potato Jet video 😂
I was not prepared for how much this video would make me imagine a bunch of mites all over me.
"That's you"
bahahahahahahaha
gottem'

I would happily spend 1500 on those toys if I had 1500 to spend on toys. Cool video
I never thought for bananas to be pulpy
I have to admit, I regret watching this video with breakfast. 😂
Gone clean my kitchen now 😀
3:22 like I’m gonna sanitize all this shit!!!!! Looooolllllll!!!!!!!
I’m scared of bugs so this is a horror movie for me.
Yummy
I'm happy not knowing the microscopic creatures crawling everywhere, eating my dead skin.
Focus stack it..
This makes no sense when youre not focus stacking.
we can finally capture a booger in Lincoln's nose!
GP12?
...I'm going to sanitize all this shit. - love it!

"It looks like a potato, that breaths."
"That's you"
So many good lines in this video.
Stop showing me all of these cool things - you are going to make me go broke!
I wish I wasn't eating while watching this
Not gonna lie I wish I could afford those
I am a simple man. When I see Peotato Jet video, I click like and comment.
Yeah because of humor so we don't miscommunicate
Great in-depth review! (See what I did there?)
Is Canon sponsoring this episode? IDTSGTTFOOH
13:12 and "it was ON YOUR KITCHEN TABLE" yikes
