After a few months away from the pond, I return to see how it's holding up. I spent a few days filming all the different wildlife with the Sony a1, 200-600, and 90mm macro. This update shares the story of the pond during the fall.

The way Stefano just casually invited that chickadee to his hand officially promotes him to Disney princess status XD.
Hahaha. You can catch me in the newest Frozen movie 🤓
🤣
Or prince😊
Hope you enjoyed the fall pond update! A big thank you to everyone who watches and supports the channel - we just passed 30k subscribers!
Great videos as always!! waiting for the next video...
@@runwayphoto Goad you enjoyed!
Of course we still here great chanel and I loce the content
As an European (Austria) it's really interesting, but also kinda weird to see all those different, unfamiliar American birds - very nice to watch!
Thanks for watching! 😃
He is in Ontario, Canada.
When you got distracted by the yellow dumped warbler, I felt that, I always get distracted by wildlife when I’m talking to people 😂
Hahaha, it’s hard for us bird people to have conversations outdoors 😅
I always get distracted by pesky flies buzzing near me!😠 If it's a cute bird, I'd get attentive, really attentive, towards the bird, not the person trying to have conversation with me haha sorry
A bird sat on your hand, must be a thrilling experience. We are planning to buy a piece of land and dig a pond. Your videos are most inspiring.
I'm in awe of the Chickadee hopping onto your hand. The Boreal Jumping Spider is my favourite spider and i've been fortunate to have found a couple feeding happily in my back yard. Mr Inairo your pond work is sheer genius. Thank you so much for posting.
They're definitely up there for me, as well. Such likeable spiders! Thanks for watching!
My 7 year old daughter and myself look forward to your videos! She has fallen in love with bird watching over the last year and enjoys taking photographs of birds in our backyard, when we travel, and she even bird watches on recess at school!
Your videos show her another person's passion for bird photography and she is able to share the excitement through your videos! Her favorite part of this particular video was of course when the Chickadee came to your hand! The way you explain your process of capturing your pictures is stunning! The way you describe in detail and use beautiful vocabulary to share what you saw and what the video contains is absolutely breath taking! We both hang on to every last word it seems!!
So, thank you for being such a wonderful influencer in the bird world! You have sure made an impact on our family and we're thankful to be able to see how another individual explores and experiences wildlife (especially birds)!!
Excited to see what the next video will bring!
Thank you for sharing!
Thanks so much for the kind words, I really appreciate it! Wow, that's amazing that she's already into birding at that age. I wish I had started earlier. It's nice to hear my videos are resonating with people. Thanks again for sharing!
Your passion for wildlife, especially birds is only out done by your skills in photography, thank you so much for sharing with me and all of your other followers.
Ok Stefano...I REALLY think your viewers/followers would enjoy a "I was distracted by..." mashup video! I know I would!
Hahah, maybe when we hit a big milestone, I’ll do a “Best Of” video with a compilation of the best moments on the channel
Your filmmaking is just reaching new levels! This was beautiful to watch 👌🏻🙌🏻💚
So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
Bravo! Footage, editing, narration all world class, perhaps the best nature documentary produced for a RUclips channel. Thank you for sharing your expertise.
Wow, that means a lot, thank you! And thanks for watching 🙂
Such a great video and I really loved the narration, really relaxing listening to this. As a gardener I never really considered the value of leaving plants that had gone over as a food source for birds. Definitely something I am going to take forward as the healthiest garden is always the most diverse and I've been embracing more "pests" to feed birds etc so seeds will be a nice thing to include too.
Happy to hear you enjoyed the video! Not only will leaving plants provide food for the birds, but over the winter, beneficial insects will overwinter in the hollowed stalks of the plants. It's neat that at all times of the year, they can provide food or cover, in one form or another!
What a gorgeous video. Worthy of a documentary award! Thanks for sharing, Stefano. Loving the pond and have decided that I'll be building a backyard pond before the end of the year!
Thanks for the kind words! I wish you luck with your build, and hopefully it brings a lot of wildlife!
@@StefanoIaniro Me too! We've been planning the backyard, and so far all we've had in our new house is some non-native doves nesting (but, still). We get so much inspiration from your enthusiasm!
Thanks for sharing this great video ,if everyone had your passion and patience for nature ,the world would surely be a better place.
My favorites moments when you get so into the different sounds the birds make, identoifyu them right away and then apologize for losing your trail of thought, I am enjoying your videos way too much, thanks for your work bringing us this great takes on nature.
I also love how you let nature do it's thing, everything seems to fall right into place, the opposite of what we see in our society, where we keep tropical plants and animals in environments that don't really suit them.
of all the things... those red amaranth are gorgeous, and the song sparrow bathing is so cute and fluffy!
They really are! I don't think I added the shot of it, but towards the base of the plant, the stalk is a dark red and then it fades to green towards the top. Super gorgeous plant!
Man I wonder why this channel is not famous as other useless Facebook channels. My childhood watching discovery channel kicking back watching these videos. I also did some wild life photography before 4 years but I lost my interest eventually and I sold my camera. Thank you for opening my eyes again. I will get back to wild life photography when i have resources to buy a new camera. Thank you for the inspiration ❤️❤️
You can feel really proud of the little refuge you have created! And beautiful shots!!
Thank you so much 🙂
I am not watching Bird DIY, but the Nature Channel. Great job.
Loved the Jumping spider and macro sequence. Really well cut together to create the story of the pound!
Thanks so much!
What a great update! You have so many different birds there which was wonderful to see. Love your enthusiasm and appreciated all the info you gave, too. Look forward to your next video!
So glad you enjoyed it, thanks!
Insane footage and a brilliant idea, the pond! Thank you also for naming of all the species under the pictures. Looking forward to the coming video’s! Thank you for your effort and sharing this. 🙏
I love your channel. You present this in a way that can make almost everyone realize they have access to the same. Very motivational.
Thank you for the kind words!
Great video. I always believe that wildlife photography is not about good photos, is always about observing the wonders of nature. Your video just confirmed my view 😊 hope many more birds and insects visits the pond in next season.
Agreed! The photos are just a bonus. Thanks for watching!
This series was so well put together ! My favorite videography/photography project until now which ive seen so far in this year !
I wish you all the best and I hope more and more people recognise your incredible talent 👍
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you liked it!
I love these videos and look forward to the next one. I'd really enjoy a few of them each season just so it's not like waiting for a new season of your favorite show after each one.
Glad you enjoy the videos! I haven't been in the area which is why it's been so long between the two update videos. But I'm hoping to expand on this idea in the future and make videos more regularly!
Thanks Stefano. Watching this has been a wonderful, relaxing and inspirational break from real-world craziness.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!

I so enjoy your video’s! You have come a long way from those first few videos. I especially love this one. It’s like a video nature journal of late summer early fall and it parallels what I see in my tiny urban backyard around my little water feature. Thanks for sharing.
That means a lot, thank you! 😀
Hey Stefano, great video to show how your pond has evolved and all the rear species of birds around it. Cheers!!
So glad you enjoyed it!
That was so awesome with the Chickadee! Your pond is looking great! Loved the "Distracted by Birds Meter", lol. The story of the pond was great also. Some gorgeous images/clips in there.

Your videos are fantastic! Well done as usual..
So glad you enjoyed it!
I like the plot twist about bugs! Although I personally prefer birds to spiders. Maybe you can become the next David Attenborough 😉
Haha, thanks so much!
Amazing 😍🖤
I really enjoy your videos and photography 👍👍. Keep up the great series and good work. I'm a new subscriber 👍.
It's amazing what wildlife a small pool of water can entice. You have some really lovely looking birds in the USA 🇺🇸...🙂👍
I agree! It got me thinking about building a bigger one next spring haha. We share a lot of the same species, but I'm just a bit further North in Canada 🙂
@@StefanoIaniro Good idea, it just shows you though, that you don't have to travel far or build something massive to get great photo's. It's made me think a little bit...🙂👍
Agreed! A little water goes a long way
Big kudos for such a splendid videography with exciting topic, not to mention the proactive creative idea of providing the pond yourself. And since now it seems set that you're gonna have continuity in doing this one, what about throwing in stats as well in your observations, then we'll see which ones like it very much to return as your regular customers, which doesn't return anymore, which has begun to show dwindling numbers etc...
Thank you! And that would be a lot of fun to do. To establish who the true "regulars" are at the pond.
Wonderful my friend. Very nice video. Thank you for sharing. Love.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great uplifting video. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you
Nice video mate! I just recently got into bird photography myself!
Yay, congrats! Hope you're enjoying it so far!
Wonderful video and photos!
Thank you!
Hey Stefano, I was thinking about asking you about an update on the pond yesterday and here it is. Wow, things really changed. Great idea about macro, loved the jumping spider and praying mantis shots! I will be looking forward to seeing what you share in the Spring or maybe a short visit for winter. Say'in hey.... Greg
Yes, many changes since the last time! Thanks so much for watching! 🙂
I Love you videos so much!!! I want to put a pond in my backyard after watching your first videos on it 😊
Yay, so glad to hear! The wildlife will love it!
It's very nice captures .
Awesome results.
Thank you!
awesome story-telling! loved the spider vids!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video
A very smart video idea, indeed. Kind regards and best of luck!
Awesome coming on a treat 👍😍
Glad you enjoyed!
Really enjoyed this video. Beautiful images. Loved the Distraction Meter! Try watching for bathing birds in the late afternoon. I’ve had a backyard bird pond for eight years and, for me, 3:00 to 5:00 pm is the most consistently busy time at the pond. I get very little activity in the mornings. But starting around 3:00, things get busy. This is when I’ve been able to film mixed flocks of warblers during spring and fall migration. My theory is that the birds are busy hunting insects in the treetops while there is still sun up there. Once the sun starts to lower, the birds come down and visit the pond. Looking forward to seeing more from your pond in the spring!
Thank you! And that definitely makes sense. Is it consistently busy at those times during the fall, as well? I noticed even at some bird baths we have nearby, it hasn't been as busy at this time of the year. Thanks for sharing!
@@StefanoIaniro up until a few weeks ago, late afternoon was a very busy time at the bird pond here (I’m in the US - eastern Tennessee). I was getting mixed flocks of warblers plus lots of activity from local birds and summer residents that were preparing to leave. I saw a lot of molting cardinals, wrens, bluebirds, and summer tanagers in August and September. The bathing must help with shedding the feathers - or maybe it just feels good to them. Things have slowed down here now, although afternoon is still better than morning.
Yeah makes sense! In the future I might focus my time in the afternoon/early evening

Nice! I like your pond videos.
So happy to hear! Thanks for watching!
Awesome project and results...😂🤣🎉🌈👍🥰
Thank you.
That chickadee moment was magical dude, I rewatched it several times wishing I could get a bird to do that for me, but don’t tell me your secret I like the mystery of it. Sweet!
Glad you enjoyed that moment! Thanks for watching
Stefano, you went from bird vlogger to David Attenborough real quick! Great video, very impressed with the shots, music, and overall editing
Really glad you enjoyed everything! Thanks for the kind words. I still have a ways to go before reaching his status haha
Complimenti, bellissime immagini like !! saluti dall' Italia .
