Forgiveness is layered, forgiveness is for your own peace - but to forgive and forget depends on the other persons commitment to right that wrong doing and reassure you they would never do it again. We all make mistakes, its how we grow - particularly in close love filled relationships we have to love each other enough to forgive/be forgiven and do better - not everyone in our lives deserves that grace though and sometimes people do need to get locked off for your own safety. Nice discussion

whenever these both men talk about such things I'm so moved on by it and I learn so much from it, it feels really good to have someone who humbly educates or tells you about such things; I love you guys

The brain tends to remember negative situations more vividly than positive, due to the fact that negative events cause you to grow more emotionally (if handled correctly)
So cutting someone off is just self preservation, not unforgiveness in my opinion

Instead of using the word Forgiveness what about Accepting what it is and moving on or pass the offense

I believe forgiving but not forgetting is possible doing so does not mean you hold hate, anger or resentment towards someone it just means as he stated a realization that someone is capable of an action you now move with caution in whatever avenue may have been tainted (unless the action was truly detrimental to your relationship) most of us are experiential learners (learn by experience) so just because we burn our hand on the stove does not mean we never use it again we just use caution moving forward and understand how to operate it properly lol I hope that makes sense 🤷🏾‍♀️😂

When speaking on forgiveness I think the best example to use is a family members because it’s the only time we truly forgive people. Not always but definitely the place you’ll find true forgiveness.
