Wow just wow ! The magic of nature . These scenes combined with the beautiful filled my eyes with tears of happiness. What an amazing walk. Thanks a million Nigel
That was very relaxing. Fall is wonderful, so beautiful but so transient - it's great that you had a chance to get out there and soak it up with your son. Seems the apple hasn't fallen too far from the tree!
Glad to hear of your good timing - too many years we have very dry late summers followed by stormy Falls that speed up leaf fall and truncate the season.
Nigel you've honestly inspired me to be a better tree keeper and have given me a better understanding for what the hobby does to appreciate the beauty of mother earth. Thank you!
I love this video, Nigel. Thanks a million. Secret: I saw things that you and your son did not see or notice from your walk around. Wow. Great. Am waiting for the next video, Nigel.
did you see a mouse peaking out on bottom at screen @ 7.21 - 7:23 ? also, what looks like two mice, in the left of the screen, @ 7:30 - 7:31. i like walking in u'r forest Nigel, thanks.
Just got home to see this video uploaded after a very similar walk here in the North Yorkshire Dales national park, UK. Collected some seeds to sow, you've made me notice more what's around me. Thank you.
greggles1987 The trees are different to what grow in the Australian bush, but the scenery is similar to some places in Victoria (Aust); the rocks are very much like ours!
greggles1987 I didn't, unfortunately. I did get to the show at Waverley in August though - that's always worth seeing. There was a ripper of a radiata pine there that had been in training for 41 years I think the owner said. Most of the trees there were very well trained and presented.
Thanks for sharing. Love the video and love the music. Canada is beautiful. We visited Vancouver this year and loved it. This video reminded me that I need to visit Yosemite and Muir Woods once again and maybe pick up some seeds.
Thankyou, Nigel, for the excellent video coverage. I am an oil paint artist who likes to paint weird trees. Rather than do realistic copies, I exaggerate shadows and shapes and insert little eyes or evidence of odd foot prints, and so on. This particular video offered several bits of inspiration. I plan to watch a few more times to catch some stills! Thank you.
Magnificent footage! its truly amazing seeing the different root systems, trunks and movement. Thanks for sharing. We are going here in about a week or two when there's a bit more color in the canopies. Great video and sound!
Hello, from the Bahamas. A bit of vacationing this week. Going on a nature tour tkmorrow. We hope to see some awesome trees. I must admit we are already impressed with some of the local greenery . We visited the Ardastra zoo, and botanical garden today. No crazy cliffhanger , but lots of info and it was great to learn the names of what they grow here. Don't tell the authority but we gonna try to sneak some seeds home.
Stunning beauty Nigel! I am still waiting on the seed pods to be ready on the Empress Tree. I will send you a batch of pods very soon though! I am going to go check on them again this afternoon. Perhaps they will be close enough to go ahead and harvest them. I hope so!
Thank you Durand, I'm inspired to make a penjing with some of the Cedar trees (Thuja) that I have, sort of a re-creation of Rattlesnake point if I can.
Simply loved the vid,so calming, music was 👌🏾. Hope you haven’t encountered any snake! I would love to go for a walk in the forest 🌳 only if there wasn’t any snake. Queensland has plenty of them 😬😬
Mr Saunders, i was thinking about starting a ficus bonsai and styling it like a mangrove tree .....i was wondering if you would be interested in starting one as well
nice video! and, the blade runner you comment a few videos before was really good. if you have more videos like that that you like to recommend we would be glad to watch. thanks!
There is beautiful, rugged old incense cedars at Yosemite--with stunning roots. ...Unfortunately, they're taking a very hard hit from the persistent dry weather down here in Ca. The cedars in this video look pretty healthy, though, I think.
I started to like trees after studying the paintings by the "Group of Seven" in high school. Later, I had a Ficus tree grow from a seed in a house plant that I had at work. As the Ficus grew, it began to look more and more like a small tree. I wanted to continue growing it, but keep it small enough for the window sill. I found a bonsai book and just fell in love with the hobby! A year later I had about 30 trees started and just kept reading and learning all I could about bonsai trees and trees in nature. www.group-of-seven.org/
Hi Nigel, really nice work on you bonsai trees. Your videos are informative and easy to watch. Not mentioning the connection with mother nature. I'm new in bonsai and enjoy watching your videos. One question, and you don't have to answer, what is your professional background and how does it relate to trees?
I model, render and animate in 3D for commercial illustrations and for the stage and theater. I like to mix my artistic sense with my horticultural knowledge, for my hobby bonsai!
Very nice Nigel. I only have one gripe. These are called "cedar" but their not actually cedar. I'm assuming these are actually Thuja? Do you know the species of these? Occidentalis? Being a fan of the true cedars, it gripes to see so many others taking the name. Here is Texas, we have junipers that also claim the name.
I tried to find out why they are called Cedars up north here, but I couldn't find an answer. These are Thuja Occidentalis, and I would, and I should start calling them Thuja, but everyone here and the nurseries calls them Cedars, White Cedars, Black Cedars, Red Cedars etc. I'll be creating a Rattlesnake point landscape this spring with all the Thuja trees and cuttings, I have in pots. I was really inspired by the sights that day!
After watching all your videos, I could hear the inspiration in your voice whilst watching this video. Particularly when you described that scene; "Here's a natural penjing landscape. Just beautiful." I can't wait to see it come to life from imagination. I should send you a true Cedrus for your collection!
The video looses some quality in the transfer to RUclips (I'm not sure why) and I also want to upgrade my camera to a nice 4K one in future. I'm thinking of a black magic camera. I'm using a Canon t5i DSLR at the moment and it doesn't give a very high quality image in video mode. www.blackmagicdesign.com/ca/products/blackmagicpocketcinemacamera I'm saving up for the camera, so hopefully better quality will come in the future!
love the fall colors. and the music is a perfect fit
Thank you, it was a really nice day!
Wow just wow ! The magic of nature . These scenes combined with the beautiful filled my eyes with tears of happiness. What an amazing walk. Thanks a million Nigel
Thank you, I'll have to return with the new camera and create another video, maybe in 4K!
Nice trip & music. Thanks Nigel & Jo 👍
Thank you Vinny!
That was very relaxing. Fall is wonderful, so beautiful but so transient - it's great that you had a chance to get out there and soak it up with your son. Seems the apple hasn't fallen too far from the tree!
Today it's pouring rain, good thing we got out there when we had the chance!
Thank you!
I too find it very inspirational to walk among the trees!
So beautiful. You inspire me everyday to be a better human being.
Thank you Dylan, the world needs all the help it can get!
Simply Beautiful! Thanks Nigel for this lovely tour of forest. Lucky to enjoy such greenary with Nature only.
Thanks and all the Best
Thank you Anita!
happy just to see, imagine being there .... looks like a paradise Nigel ... congratulations
It's still tee shirt weather here, most unusual, we often get wet snow late October. Thanks Tonny, it was a really nice day for a hike in the woods!
I love this video, Nigel. Thanks a million. Secret: I saw things that you and your son did not see or notice from your walk around. Wow. Great. Am waiting for the next video, Nigel.
nice video with beautiful trees
Thank you katana24!

Bushy tail, probably a chipmunk.
Hello Derrick, good eye! Those were two chipmunks chasing each other, the woods was full of them!
Just got home to see this video uploaded after a very similar walk here in the North Yorkshire Dales national park, UK. Collected some seeds to sow, you've made me notice more what's around me. Thank you.
Fall is such a beautiful time of year, it's nature's time to show off!
Thankyou for a very relaxing video Nigel. I think the Autumn is the best part if the year, so calm and peaceful.
It was a wonderful day for a hike!
Thank you for filming and sharing . just beautiful
It is such a beautiful place!
Beautiful! Thank you.
It was a very nice day for a hike!
Great creations of the nature, there are so many Maple tree also, a nice forest journey Nigel Thanks.
Thank you for watching, the scenery has really inspired me to create!
You rock Nigel, another awesome video,.. beautiful trees.
Thank you Steven, it's such a great place for a walk!
Nice roots over rock and edge. The woods are nice in the fall. I bet it smells good woodsy fall forest. Beautiful!
It was a really nice day, taking in the sights, sounds and the smells of the forest!
thanks for sharing Nigel. It's nice to experience the forests there from my bedroom in Australia
greggles1987 The trees are different to what grow in the Australian bush, but the scenery is similar to some places in Victoria (Aust); the rocks are very much like ours!
Trevor Sell
Yeah they are. I'm from Melbourne myself. Did you happen to catch the Victorian bonsai society show over the weekend?
greggles1987
I didn't, unfortunately. I did get to the show at Waverley in August though - that's always worth seeing. There was a ripper of a radiata pine there that had been in training for 41 years I think the owner said. Most of the trees there were very well trained and presented.
Thanks for watching, I could have happily spent weeks photographing the sights!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful adventure with us!
Your very welcome Patricia. Thanks for coming along!
Thank you for showing us such a beautiful place!
Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks!
Thanks for sharing. Love the video and love the music. Canada is beautiful. We visited Vancouver this year and loved it. This video reminded me that I need to visit Yosemite and Muir Woods once again and maybe pick up some seeds.
I haven't been out to western Canada yet, but I'll be sure to make the trip some time!
I used to go here with my family hiking all the time! I loved climbing around in the crevasses and on the cliffs. I should go back sometime.
I hope you return, there is just so much to see!
These heights are really freaking me out. Very breathtaking country you have up there Nigel
A dang! You scaled those rocks like a mountain goat!
The heights were very scary for me, but the trees were so nice!
Thank you.
I'm glad the video can offer a source of inspiration, happy painting!
This was a beautiful nature walk! Fall is my favorite season - I love going on hikes during this time!
Thank you, We've had a lot of rain and cold weather lately, but I'm still getting out everyday walking and biking and having fun!
Go way to stay active and healthy! Cheers!
Magnificent footage! its truly amazing seeing the different root systems, trunks and movement. Thanks for sharing. We are going here in about a week or two when there's a bit more color in the canopies. Great video and sound!
I hope you get a beautiful day!
beautiful forest. lots of inspiring ideas.. great video once again!
Thank you!

Thanks to Technology and Nigel.. I am able to enjoy the beauty on the other side of the 🌏 earth! Wishes to you Nigel from India! Thanks Always!
It is amazing that you can see what I did yesterday!
Nigel Saunders, The Bonsai Zone absolutely! 🙂
Love all your work!! Keep it coming!
Thank you Shayne, lots more to come!
Maravilloso paseo! Magníficos ejemplos para tus creaciones! Saludos desde Valencia (España)
¡Me ha inspirado a crear otro Penjing de Cedar!
(Aqui é Brasil) My friend ,,, simply wonderful !!! "you are privileged
Thank you, a wonderful sight indeed!
make sure to keep your eye out for cedar apple rust and wonderful scenery thanks
Thanks, I haven't seen any Cedar rust around these parts, but it can be nasty!
Gracias amigo Nigel Bueno video.
Me alegra que hayas disfrutado el video!
Thanks for sharing your walk with us
Thanks Michael
Beautiful, Nigel.
Thank you Durand, I'm inspired to make a penjing with some of the Cedar trees (Thuja) that I have, sort of a re-creation of Rattlesnake point if I can.
I find that forest walks can always make a big difference to a persons day
I always hate returning to the noise after a quiet walk in the woods.
Very nice footage! thanks for this!
Glad you enjoyed the view!
Simply loved the vid,so calming, music was 👌🏾. Hope you haven’t encountered any snake! I would love to go for a walk in the forest 🌳 only if there wasn’t any snake. Queensland has plenty of them 😬😬
The rattlesnake hasn't been seen here for many years and is a threaten species. This is the only venomous snake in Ontario!
I like the music on this video much better.
Thank you Ollie!
Julien would be launching his own Bonsai channel soon ? We hope so .
Nice to see those giants over the rocks BTW .
regards
Thanks Leonard!
Mr Saunders, i was thinking about starting a ficus bonsai and styling it like a mangrove tree .....i was wondering if you would be interested in starting one as well
That would be a great style for a Ficus tree! I'll see if I can start one in the future!
What a place to spend a day!...
What are the largest predators in that area? Wolves, Lynxs?
Mosquitoes! Actually there are no predators that I know of, there is a native rattlesnake, but one hasn't been spotted in a decade.
@@TheBonsaiZone surprised to know that mosquitoes are everywhere. Is that rattlesnake declared extinct in that forest?
@@yogideshmukh I don't think it's extinct, but it just hasn't been seen in that area lately.
Don't fall down Nigel, we need you!
I do not like heights at all, the only thing that I would go near the edge for, is ancient trees!
nice video! and, the blade runner you comment a few videos before was really good. if you have more videos like that that you like to recommend we would be glad to watch. thanks!
Thank you, if you are a Avatar fan, here is one to watch....

Yes, the trees here have had a really good summer this year, not too hot and just the right amount of rain.
Nice bit of reverse engineering there and come though with a very good video, Good work Nigel as always.
It always inspires me, when I get out into the woods, so much beauty!
Should I be working on my pine trees?
I would wait until mid winter before wiring your pines, the branches will be more flexible then.
peaceful nature, wish I also be there.
It was a very nice walk!
Nice video and nice landscapes ! I was wondering : do you plan on growing oak bonsai trees ?
thx, Adrian from France
Yes, I started a red Oak this spring and plan on starting many different varieties! I really like Oak trees!
Hey Nigel. I am facinated by your passion for trees. How did it start?
I started to like trees after studying the paintings by the "Group of Seven" in high school. Later, I had a Ficus tree grow from a seed in a house plant that I had at work. Nigel Saunders, The Bonsai Zone Oh nice! Thanks for the answer. Have a good one. Greetings from Norway :-)
Finally foist?!!
You are in the Foist Zone!
Ali Mirjalili pshhh. Finally...
It has been a while. Btw, did you see the squirrels chasing each other in 7:30 ?
Yeah I saw them lol. Crazy buggers
14:54 : I though for a second Nigel is going to remove the moss so that the root base does not rot away :))
Hi Nigel, really nice work on you bonsai trees. Your videos are informative and easy to watch. Not mentioning the connection with mother nature. I'm new in bonsai and enjoy watching your videos. The quality shows, and not only on your bonsai😉. Please keep up the awsome work!
Nigel Saunders, The Bonsai Zone - I took you for a retired professor. There is something special in your voice.
Beautiful
Thank you!
Anh có dùng facebook không vậy ?
You should be working for the National Geographic fantastic stuff thank you
Thanks Fred, I found the scenery very inspiring!
Interesting....tho' my vertigo was challenged from time to time.
Mine too, I was very nervous near the edge, but that's where the trees were!
Very nice Nigel.
I only have one gripe.

I prefer no music in the video. Much nicer when you can just hear you and the nature.
Thanks Adam, a good point!
I would prefer a lower volume on the music but we think the selection was quite suitable.
❤
good vid but would prefer without music
Thanks Aaron!
Secoint
video quality is so unpleasant to watch
looks like it's slightly out of focus, but definitely great scenes and views
