They are hugely popular in mainland Europe. Who needs commercial success? Ok they could do with being financially compensted for being the best kept secret in the music industry. In the UK anyway. I love his dancing and he's hot. Edith Bowman iis is a lucky woman.
as a male dude, 26 meanwhile, i just can say: I LOVE Tom Smith for his physically expressions while singing. If u ask me, i'd say he dont plays a role for the band or is impaired by whatever, he just shows what h feels while singing and also have fun on stage. Watch them live!
Here we go with the ridiculously OVERUSED "underrated" reference for every musician in existence that fans love. LAME, UNORIGINAL and such BULLSHIT too!
MUSIC LOVER I can honestly see why theyd say this is underrated though. The song is pretty good, yet hardly any people know about it, and it hasn’t ended up on any charts whatsoever. It’s all a matter of opinion though.
It's just amazing how they manage to make something special and different each time with every album. Can't wait till March. Thank you for all these years, see you on your shows!
Runawayz14 Amen. Couldn't have said it any better! They never repeat themselves, just keep on changing and evolving their music. That's what I've always loved about them 😊
I'm so proud of the way these guys keeps standing in the indie/alt stream, they proprl a natural rush of energy and strength, they write music with passion and it's the same passion shared in the vibes that make you feel astounded. This is a song I can't easily define because 80s electronic vibes combine thoroughly with rock elements. In a specific way the first minute lets you imagine the 80s styles, close enough to Depeche Mode, but right one minute later it becomes more aggressive and rock-based. Tom's voice caps off the masterpiece we're arguing about, just the use of his initial strong voice makes me think that he's actually as brave and devotes as at the start of their career, longevity keeps in; so he'll not get out of such a breathtaking path that easily. I don't care about those who complain about their ongoing style and the changes they set during their evolution. It's widely known and admittable that a band's sound gets newer features during the process, after issuing the debut album you eagerly concentrate on your qualities and the way you want to be assessed as. They reckoned they had to cope with a chunk of rebel listeners, those who bash you as soon as your dynamic gets different or whenever the perspectives of the band members go through a new direction apparently not knowing why. What else? Never turn down the efforts of such a commendable band! You'll be impressed by the way they entertain the public, so my tip to you is to attend one of their magical gigs at least once, they'll cheer you up, you'll no repent.
Last singer with that kind of mesmerising capacity was Ian Curtis, but luckily Tom doesn't have the same problems. What you see there is pure musical passion, and most importantly, confidence!. Just a flick of the wrist, and he can convey so much emotion. Worth a million Justin Timberlakes, Biebers or anyone else you could mention. He's a good looking guy, but a beautiful dancer!
Fantastic, so pleased the song sounds so similar to the live version we've been hearing for so long. Tom Smith has never looked cooler and more fucking awesome than he looks in this video. Long live Editors!
Love it. They hooked me in 2005 - Tom's passion was something I hadn't seen in a long time. But they lost me at Papillion. Show I've seen in 2013 was the worst. I thought this band was going to break. But then in 2017: their live-show was so fucking spectacular. Tom's singing, power and stageperformance. Loved every second of it. Bono should take notes. They are one of the greatest rockbands of today.
Lyrics Right this way The room's full to burst Whatever you say Gotta quench that thirst I've got a little secret for you It's in a magazine You've got an image to keep safe Bitten nails stay clean, yeah And I took a lie test with a clenched fist Top of a hit list, gag a witness, oh It takes a fat lip to run a tight ship Just took a lie test with a clenched fist Flash your winning smile Let your eyes work the room These people are here for you You're the bride, you're the groom I've got a little secret for you It's in a magazine You've got an image to keep safe Bitten nails stay clean, yeah And I took a lie test with a clenched fist Top of a hit list, gag a witness, oh, oh It takes a fat lip to run a tight ship Just took a lie test with a clenched fist Yeah You took the lie test And I took a lie test with a clenched fist Top of a hit list, gag a witness, oh, oh It takes a fat lip to run a tight ship Just took a lie test, you're making a scene You're making a scene It don't mean a thing It don't mean a thing You're making a scene You're making a scene It don't mean a thing It don't mean a thing You're making a scene You're making a scene It don't mean a thing It don't mean, it don't mean It don't mean a thing It don't mean a thing
Pure class as always from the these lads. I played all their albums in chronological order last night, an amazing soundtrack which embodies all the feelings and emotions, good times and bad I've felt since 2004. Can't wait for March 9th. Happy Editing xo
The thudding guitars of the bridge/intermezzo being represented by a brawl (where the flashing beautiful people are suddenly, y'know, fighting...) reminds me of 'Holy Ghost' by White Lies's music video :D
Right this way The room's full to burst Whatever you say Gotta quench that thirst [Pre-Chorus] I've got a little secret for you It's in a magazine You've got an urge to keep safe Been now stay clean, yeah [Chorus] Now talk the loudest with a clenched fist Top of a helix, gag a witness It takes a fat lip to run a tight ship Justtalk the loudest with a clenched fist [Verse 2] Wash your winning smile Let your eyes work the room These people are here for you You're the bride, you're the groom [Pre-Chorus] I've got a little secret for you It's in a magazine You've got an urge to keep safe Been now stay clean, yeah
Having been a fan from the very early days (blood etc) and seeing them live multiple times, I really like this tune. Has many layers too it and has that rift that brings you in. Will be a banger live.
The video's is so good that it made me truly appreciate the song... And Tom has the most to do with that... he is absolutely genuine, expressive and artistic, one can hardly take his/her eyes off him. One of the most charismatic front-persons of today's rock music (apart from his lovely baritone and huge talent).

1MrRandom030 some places it sounds like “got a witness” whereas another it sounds like “gag a witness” which I think appears more in keeping with the song.
Is it possible to favourite a video? Because this is my favourite song! This is genuinely amazing, both the song and music video are fantastic and it's obvious that a lot of work were put into both! Good job!
Runawayto Sam'sTown Old Editors were rock though right? I personally prefer their synth stuff however. Cuttings II and In This Light And On This Evening are amazing. In Dream was awesome too.
Still can't believe how Editors are so unpopular in RUclips... I love Tom's voice and stage presence!
Unpopular? Their videos have millions of views.
@@dougdougw not that many if you see other bands with similar music.
They are hugely popular in mainland Europe. Who needs commercial success? Ok they could do with being financially compensted for being the best kept secret in the music industry. In the UK anyway. I love his dancing and he's hot. Edith Bowman iis is a lucky woman.
so underrated?
God Tom is absolutely hypnotic to watch. I love this band so much
as a male dude, 26 meanwhile, i just can say: I LOVE Tom Smith for his physically expressions while singing. If u ask me, i'd say he dont plays a role for the band or is impaired by whatever, he just shows what h feels while singing and also have fun on stage. Watch them live!
id have to agree with ya, only im a 36 year old "male dude" :-) :-) :-)
Probably the descendants of Depeche Mode
Long life to Editors
The most refreshing sound I've heard for years...this band is a real find! Awesome stuff!
This band is so Underrated! The Best!!
Here we go with the ridiculously OVERUSED "underrated" reference for every musician in existence that fans love. LAME, UNORIGINAL and such BULLSHIT too!

Magzinehow to start
It's just amazing how they manage to make something special and different each time with every album. Can't wait till March. Thank you for all these years, see you on your shows!
Runawayz14 SAME. There is Editors love here across the pond in what's left of the USA
Runawayz14 Amen. Couldn't have said it any better! They never repeat themselves, just keep on changing and evolving their music. That's what I've always loved about them 😊
One of Britain's best bands return.
This is brilliant, as was their last career-best album.
Already preordered the signed editions from their website.
Tom's voice. Tom's moves. Tom's style and this whole band.

what a presence, what a voice!
Love the song, but also the work of Rahi Rezvani. What an amazing artist he is
A masterpiece.
usłyszę utwór pierwszy raz i wiem że będzie mi się podobać już zawsze, Editors nigdy nie zawodzą, uwielbiam ich! ☺

Tom Smith, one of the best singers ever
Such a charismatic performer ,Tom. Smith you 're my favorite 💗
Am I the only one who adores his beautiful fingers?
No, you're not .
Wtf
Someone told me a long time ago when you admire a man's hands that is about the deepest form of appreciation.
I was falled in love with his hands in 2005 (and I actually don't care about people hands).
I prefer his voice :)
Man these guys just keep going and creating memorable and impactfull music, just love it!
Fantastic, so pleased the song sounds so similar to the live version we've been hearing for so long. Tom Smith has never looked cooler and more fucking awesome than he looks in this video. Long live Editors!

Dude i feel the same they are a different a bank from their first 3 albums.
A real grower. Fabulous production and bombastic sound. Love it. A step on from In Dream sound too but unquestionably Editors! Stylish video too.

I've got a little secret for you
It's in a magazine
You've got an image to keep safe

It takes a fat lip to run a tight ship
Just took a lie test with a clenched fist
Flash your winning smile
Let your eyes work the room
These people are here for you
You're the bride, you're the groom

Yeah
You took the lie test
And I took a lie test with a clenched fist
Top of a hit list, gag a witness, oh, oh
It takes a fat lip to run a tight ship

That chorus kicked my teeth in. BRILLIANT.

The thudding guitars of the bridge/intermezzo being represented by a brawl (where the flashing beautiful people are suddenly, y'know, fighting...) reminds me of 'Holy Ghost' by White Lies's music video :D

"Chairman of the brawl" taken to a literal extreme.
Have followed Eds for 10 years and for me right now this is their best song ever. It's like everything combined
very proud of the evolution of their music through the years, congrats!
These people are here for you... Love it!
Fantastic song, fantastic music video 😍
Having been a fan from the very early days (blood etc) and seeing them live multiple times, I really like this tune. Has many layers too it and has that rift that brings you in. Will be a banger live.

Great to know Tomy!:)
Is it possible to favourite a video? Because this is my favourite song! This is genuinely amazing, both the song and music video are fantastic and it's obvious that a lot of work were put into both! Good job!
Tanta tanta tanta tanta tanta roba caro Tom
that happy feeling you get when one of your favourite bands releases a new song that lives up to the expectations :)
Ah they played this song live last year and I loved it, great that it's out😊
OHHHH They are back! Cannot wait for 'Violence'!
I just need a Tom dance class, he's like a baby T-Rex in a suit
i guess it is kinda off topic but do anyone know a good place to stream newly released tv shows online?
@Jaime Houston thank you, I signed up and it seems like a nice service =) I really appreciate it !
@Daxton Jace No problem :D
Hahaha
It's very Spader. Maximum confidence, minimum elegance.
really like the song, but your dancing is the real awesome part, tom! :)
Agreed.. but Matt from The National still holds the title for _THE_ coolest moves, along similar lines: ruclips.net/video/yfySK7CLEEg/видео.html
Hey, I love that. Tom's that way. I love how he mixes acting with his own gig moves...
Two of my favourite front-men... and favourite bands as well (no coincidence!)

They're back, the old Editors are back, and I love it.
Runawayto Sam'sTown
Old Editors were rock though right? I personally prefer their synth stuff however. Cuttings II and In This Light And On This Evening are amazing. In Dream was awesome too.
It was a mix of both, that's why I loved it.
Actually one of the best around.
Loved this after the first listen - well done boys - looking forward to the album
I love you, Tom!
This sounded phenomenal live last week at Birmingham!
