@julienfroidevaux1143 statins block what the body needs to make cholesterol. In addition, getting additional cholesterol from animal fats is only beneficial. It's directly linked with reducing heart disease and neurological disorders. Hell, the blockage I had in my carotid cleared over the course of a year after I dropped the fruits and veggies. Cholesterol transports what you need around the body. It's a large part of why my arteries healed, thus reducing my blockage(which is scarring of the artery) to the point where it is free and clear in imaging. I recommend listening more to the doctor presenting these videos. There are far more benefits than what I've listed. He backs it up with sound information.

Also, I was losing my hair before I started this diet, now it has all grown back thick and healthy. I'm sticking with this! I think a missing factor is the number of infections people walk around with. Chronic sinus infection, toenail fungus, chronic low-grade bronchitis, skin rashes etc., the more infections one has the more LDL is needed. LDL is an opsonin which means it prepares the pathogen to be consumed by White Blood Cells.

Thank you Dr. Chafee. I'm not a doctor and certainly not a lipidologist, but after watching my mum spend years on Statins before going on to get type 3 Diabetes and developing Alzheimer’s, I decided to look into lipidology. I discovered that Statins can break through the blood brain barrier and disrupt insulin utilization in the brain. I didn't realise that the brain makes its own cholesterol and has more cholesterol than what our body organs make. To disrupt this process with a medication to reduce what the brain needs, seems nonsensical

I think one way to fix the study issue is the researchers need to disclose the number of unpublished studies they have worked on, on every paper. See how quickly this non-publish problem goes away,
It will never happen. Pharmaceuticals will lose billions of $$$ on Rx. That is why so important for people to do their own investigative research from those who truly care about humans and not how much they can rake in.
@@jbon3941 Research now needs to be registered with the reason why the research is being done. So it could happen. So it wouldn't take much to report what research isn't being published. Individuals cannot do all the research. It is too expensive. So that doesn't even make logical sense.
What I admire about Dr Chaffee is how calm and reasonable he sounds. When I talk about this and related issues, its too personal for me. I upset myself and start to talk fast and loud and just have to stop talking and breath. It is too emotional.

It would be great if Dr Anthony came up with a healthy diet sheet. As a 64-year-old, I have an average resting pulse of 55, an average blood pressure of 116/72 and I feel fit and healthy, which is helped by swimming 3 times a week and gym twice a week. On my latest blood test, my Cholesterol level (UK - NHS measurement) was 6.3 (Should be 4.5 - 5.0) and I was told by my doctor that that was a high level and I should try Statins. Listening to this RUclips video slightly shocked me as I believed, like many, that my diet wasn't great. Luckily, I have an aversion to using drugs for anything, and I refused my doctor's suggestion and asked about natural ways to lower it. Can you guess what he told me? Yes, eat all the healthy things like high-protein and vitamin-rich foodstuffs and completely cut out carbs, fats etc... He never mentioned sugar or glucose, fructose! I'm so glad I saw this and now have a better understanding of what I actually should eat. Would still like to see Dr Anthony's diet suggestion though.

Frustrated that my PCP was not addressing my autoimmune issues, I sought out a holistic physician. She was the one that ran a BOKU amount of tests, including the Lipoprotein(a) test. Something happened in the last week with my disabled veteran husband who has been on mostly carnivore for at least a year and prior to that, ketovore. He has has high BP for over 30 years (spent monkeying with meds combinations that never worked), degenerative disc disease, bad kidney readings 1.9 (his mom was on dialysis for years b4 she died), AFIB, etc. His recent labs were concerning and confusing to me. Total cholesterol 180, but trigs 228, HDL 39 and LDL only 95. What on earth is happening? I've been eating the same for years and my numbers are great. Total 230-ish, Trigs 55, HDL 60 and LDL about 187. I'm very concerned about him! He had not lost much weight, then got Covid and pneumonia and they tested those in the middle of his illness-he lost 25 lb in two weeks not eating while ill. Was the test skewed? Why are his results opposite to mine? He's 71 and I'm 67 and only have hypothyroidism to contend with myself. Thanks for whatever light you can shed on this. ~Cynthia
If the tests were done whilst he was seriously ill they will be completely skewed. get them done again and then you'll know. We know LDL goes up when transporting fat and down when not transporting fat (eating carbs for 3 weeks will dramatically drop LDL) so his low LDL may be explainable if he hadn't eaten for weeks.
Thank you! I was thinking the illness and him just not eating for almost two weeks probably had something to do with it. You'd think the doctor would have known that, but then again, she recommended eating more greens..🙄~Cynthia

Thoroughly mix it all together. Store in the refrigerator. The beef fat and butter will harden around the beef, bacon and eggs. I usually try to have my first mean be about a pound of ground beef. Then around dinner I might do a steak or if I want to mix it up some chicken. I do occasionally do bacon and eggs too. And I just recently learned how to make roast beef in the crock pot, that was amazing.

Would still like to see Dr Anthony's diet suggestion though.
im in the UK as well and got a letter that my cholesterol rose from 6.9 to 17.2 'for no obvious reason' (not obvious because my doctor wasn't interested in conversation with me during the appointment, so I didnt have a chance to say anything about the diet changes i made and so that he can expect high cholesterol in blood tests, but never mind...
the suggestion frm dr Anthony I think even I can tell you instead of him :D : eat meat, eggs and butter. Drink water. End of it :)

Dr Chaffee - what if a Lipoprotein(a) test results a high score? I had that test and my score was very high. I tried Carnivore for 2 months and all my cholesterol numbers went up; which I knew they would. I've never had a Lipoprotein(a) test done before, so I don't know if it was high before carnivore. For many years I ate the Standard American Diet, along with all the snacks and treats. My PCP never ran that test. I switched to a whole foods plant-based in 2017 (for 7 years) to try and address some autoimmune issues. Then this year, for Feb and March, I tried carnivore. Frustrated that my PCP was not addressing my autoimmune issues, I sought out a holistic physician. She was the one that ran a BOKU amount of tests, including the Lipoprotein(a) test. I will be seeing her in two weeks to go over my results. Just wondered what your thoughts were about a high Lipoprotein(a) score.

They also haven't checked anyone for funguses. Funguses cause a great many diseases including cancers and skin issues, diabetes , joint pain and much more. You are soooo in your purpose Dr. C … awesome video! You know your stuff! Ty
In my recent blood test, my total cholesterol is 12.27 mmol/L and LDL 9.2 mmol/L which is considered high. My triglycerides are normal, 0.77 mmol/L, Cholesterol/HDL Ratio also normal, 4.51 and my HDL 2.72 mmol/L. According to my doctor, I am at risk of a heart attack and I should start taking medication. Any thoughts? Carnivore diet since the last 5 months and love it.
I have a thought. He's not gonna answer you and quit asking random people on youtube for medical advice.
What if you have "through the roof cholesterol "and all the other markers as well? What do you do ?> Go on Statins when you know the dangers already ? Already changing the diet but questioning "high fat ". Should you go "low fat "?
My doctor is saying I need to be on Statins . Obviously , I'm resisting. I'm worried though as it's through the roof - like familial hypercholestrelemia - even though there is no history . I 'm not lean - I put on weight with Menopause. I'm a 10 which is about a 400 in American cholesterol. What to do ?
my doc says I have polygenic Hypercholesterolaemia.
Before the statins my overall cholesterol was 8.4 mmol/L and my LDL was 6.2
With 20mg of atorvastatin it bought my overall down to 5.1 and my LDL to 3.2,
I also had a genetics test which come back saying that I probably do have polygenic but not FH
and the LDL-C 12 SNP result was within decile 9 what ever that means.
I really don’t want to take statins and keep hearing the new data says that high LDL might not be a bad thing. I just want to make the right decision?
P.S a few years ago my results were as follows
Total - 7.0
Trig - 1.4
HDL - 1.3
Coronary risk - 5.4
LDL - 5.1
Non LDL - 5.7
I also have a Calcium score that come back as 0
But I was about 37 at the time and am now 40
Any help is much appreciated thanks!
I
Wud be nice if you simplify explanation and tell what causes heart attack and which test we have to do and what do we have to check for
I have been carnivore for 2 months now and my cholesterol has tripled. They called me Friday and want me to come in tomorrow morning to go over my blood work results. The doctor has already prescribed atorvastatin based off what he saw.
How are you doing with it now?
@@Holden-uf7 have another appointment with my doctor tomorrow. Guess I will find out then.
Hi Joshua, I've experienced the same thing. What was your outcome? Did you solve the problem?
Dont think it was mentioned, but fasting insulin levels are also an important marker.
any links to any studies? Weird thing is, there are loads of docotors who say the opposites. Vegan or begetarian. They do agree though on suguar intake. I was recommended red rice.
Thanks man. We appreciate you.
I haven't found a study that shows heart disease is increasing as dr Chaffee mentiones. Can someone please help me find it.
My LDL is 191 and my HDL is 203 total cholesterol is 256 is this good or bad should I be worried ? i am eating healthy powerwalking 2h every morning and fasting 16h and how do I know if I have diabetis 2 , ? my glucose is 104
What a great video. Thank you !!! 🙏🏻
I am extremely interested to know what you is thought on pork, (Pork chops, ham, etc.), chicken and rabbit?
I started eating carnivore 3 weeks ago. Everything was fine until, one day I decided eating baked pork... I felt soo bad, my anxiety was bad. I can eat eggs, but not fried as it gives me acid... but I can it porch... you have to experiment as decide on your own what work best for you. All the best . 👍
@@MthalamMwalimu Thank you
So how do we argue against insurance companies when we apply for life insurance? Thank you for all that you do!
