Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian were killed in a helicopter crash. All 9 people onboard the helicopter were killed after the chopper crashed into a mountain in the East Azerbaijan province. Raisi had just inaugurated a dam in a bordering state with Azerbaijan. Meanwhile, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has announced a five-day mourning and has assured the nation that there will be no disruptions to the country’s work. Meanwhile Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Italian Leader Giorgia Meloni and dozens of other world leaders have sent their condolences to the people of Iran for the loss of their President.
