5.Do a quick release and open the lid.Turn on Saute mode and Add around 1 tbsp of coconut powder.Let it simmer for around 5 minutes. After simmering for a while, you will notice the oil start to separate from the curry base.Add chopped cilantro and hit cancel.

I just got married and received an instant pot as a gift (having never cooked before!). I don’t live near any family and had to cook something for dinner. I searched for and Indian IP recipe & this was the first thing that popped up. I watched it, made a grocery list, went shopping and followed your recipe as closely as I could. My husband loved it soooo much, he wanted me to make it again the following day! Thanks for your easy to make & easy to follow recipes! I’ve watched many of your recipes that look easy/ we would like & I can’t wait to start trying them out! 🙂
Nadia Dossani congratulations and thank you for the lovely comment! It warms my heart that you found the video helpful! All the best and wish you a happy married life! 👍🏻😊😍🎊
Now thats a result! 😊
Sandhyas Kitchen you made nice flavorful chicken ❤️😊😊😊😊😊
Happy husband with stomach full of food. Newly married. I think we all know what happened after dinner. Hail Marx!
@@random9389 and this is after 'having never cooked before'. I think this alone redeems this entire video.
Finally, I found a curry that does not use tomato and taste like the Tamil curry I am so used to having back in Malaysia. Thank you so much.
I cooked this and it is very tasty. It was really simple and quick actually!
I didn’t have cumin so I used a tiny bit of curry powder and I didn’t have coconut powder so I used a bit of coconut milk.
I added a bit of salt and I don’t think I should have done that.
Definitely the best tasting curry I’ve ever made from following a RUclips video and the easiest too. 9/10!
I made this following your recipe and it was amazingly delicious. I didn’t have coconut powder, so used some coconut milk and it was so rich and creamy. Loved it! Will make it again.
Anika Q thats fantastic! Thanks for the feedback! 🙂
Best instant pot recipe for students abroad. Thanks a ton. I have tried few of your chicken recipes. Kudos to you.
Thank you. I was a student like you once so I am glad my recipes are helping students.🙂
I sometimes get chicken from a nearby indo pak store.Chicken is also available here at regular stores like Walmart/Whole Foods, etc.
This is one of the best indian chicken curries that I have been able to cook! I love this recipe and cooking it so fast in the instant pot!
Brilliant presentation. Clear and precise no waffle straight to the point. Simple and quick recipe. Definite keeper to make with Instant Pot.
Thank you! Glad you like it!
I love my instant pot & always seeking new recipes to try. I also love Indian food! Can’t wait to try out your easy to follow tutorial. Appreciate you taking the time to also put everything in the description as well! TY!
Gotta give you a credit, this was so good! I don’t like cooking at all so I followed your recipe and it turned out very tasty.
Glad you liked it!!
I tried this today and it was AMAZING! I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. Thank you very juch for sharing this wonderful recipe. I really appreciate it.
Thanks! Glad you tried it!
Sandhya,
I followed your chicken curry recipe and made it this evening but I've made a few changes: I omitted the red chilli powder and have added 5 fresh bird's eye chilli peppers, a medium tomato and 6 green cardamom pods. The aroma was so tempting that I could've barely waited to have my dinner.
I had this flavourful dish on a bed of white rice and a lovely garden salad; I must say that it was very delicious!
Thank you again for this wonderful recipe. I'll continue to make many more of your tasty recipes. God bless you 🙏💗💐
Thanks!
I received a Cosori pressure cooker for christmas and used this recipe last night. It was delicious. Thank you for this easy video/recipe. I have now subscribed. Kind regards.
You are so welcome!
Incredible! You are such an amazing cooking teacher. I did make a few changes based on what I’ve seen in some other recipes but pretty much followed your steps to a T. I sautéd the onions in cumin seeds black pepper small cinnamon stick and 1 bay leaf..little ghee and olive oil. I mixed red chili with smoked paprika for little less spice but it was still pretty spicy lol ... also sautéed on low at very end rather than normal after i added 1.5 tblsp coconut milk.. used about 1.5 pounds of skinless bone-in thighs. My place smells amazing and this recipe is amazing. Thanks so much for your expertise ...I love my instant pot. Chicken came out incredibly tender, wow! I garnished with mix of fresh parsley and cilantro
You are welcome! I love all your substitutions!
I have made this 4 times now and it's an absolute winner!
Awesome!

Sandhya I am not indian but my husband is. I decided to make this recipe because I was curious about how different this version could be verses how I normally cook it. I thought it's almost the same ingredients minus the coconut and we add tomato. I asked myself what could be so different? Hahaha I was mistaken! I used your recipe and it was different and very delicious! My husband absolutely loved it. Thanks for the great recipe ❤️ Looking forward to trying more of your recipes!!
NUNCAAMAREOTRAVEZ you are welcome! Glad you liked it!

Wanted something quick and simple this evening and this came out so delicious. Thank you for your lovely recipes. Have tried some of your recipes since we got our instant pot and really enjoyed them.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Can we follow your recipe and prepare this dish in an average non-pressure cooker pot?
Yes. However it would take a little longer to cook.
@@SandhyasKitchen Thanks for your prompt response. I did try the recipe 2 days ago using a non-pressure cooker. The timing was a bit of an issue because I was never sure when to add particular ingredients. But overall, it was a success! So I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart: the first time ever, I ate a delicious curry cooked by my own hands. Delighted !
Nice way to cook in Instant Pot. Thank You!

Hi Sandhya, I tried this recipe today and it turned out to be so well 😇.. all my family members enjoyed this thoroughly . Thank you so much for bringing so many instant pot recipes to us . You are just amazing 🤩. Just one question , how do you make the coconut powder ? Do you dry roast fresh grated coconut and then make a powder ? Please reply
Thank you. I make it at home when i have time else just use store bought.
We can do this with eyes closed pressurised or not , Some choose to de-glaze the Turka with tomatoes, these are basic instructions to set the stage for veggie curry’s too.
I can nearly smell these georous spices This dish looks delicious, Thanks for sharing big lke full support stay connected keep shareing full watch 🔔👍

The IP settings be for the same
Yes. Same
Thank you sandhya
Welcome!
Brilliant, thanks.
Would chicken thighs work as well?
Absolutely.
sandhya garu is there a way i can make rice and chicken in go in instant pot may i know?
Yes! Will make a video soon!
Sandhyas, The chicken was delicious and I would love to make it again. My family loved it. I just have one question. I’m curious why the recipe has the name curry in it, but it actually does not contain any curry. Thank you.
Curry is also a combination of Indian spice ingredients (like turmeric, gheera, etc.) So she was actually creating the “curry mixture” from its separated ingredients.
Since you are using 2 lbs chicken, does this serve 6 people?
Serves 4 adults.
Perfect video! Great job!
Thanks!
Iam guessing this is a south lndian version. I can tell because I am South lndian.
I tried instant pot chicken for the first time following your recipe and it turned out great! Thanks for sharing!!
sagar Utturkar you are welcome 😀
What’s the purpose of even using the instant pot when you only used it for 2 minutes as a pressure cooker. You could have just used the stove.
Because you only have to wash one pot.
Meela S to make chicken curry in the stove you need only one pot.
Jane Doe i agree. The recipe seemed better suited for the stove. And also it’s not the “quick & easy” i look for from instant pot, after a long day of work.
You from Texas?
Yes!
